This hotel is next to two cheap hotels. One of them is particularly bad and it looks like people live there and all kinds of sketchy people come out at night. I would NEVER stay here again. Front desk staff was mostly nice. When we arrived, front desk girl was on the phone with Uber complaining about them delivering the wrong food order to her. Then she proceeds to tell us what an idiot the Uber eats driver is for delivering a burger and salad when she ordered a chicken alfredo. Other front desk staff was nice and professional. The lady doing breakfast was very nice and happy. Breakfast options were unexciting though. Hotel was dated and rooms smelled musty and moldy. Carpet throughout the hotel was nasty. For the price and for a Country Inn and Suites, I had higher expectations. I inquired from hotel staff about the area after reading other reviews and before booking. Was told it was safe but that is untrue. I would not want to be out after dark around here. Besides the nasty hotels within a rocks throw, there are homeless people hanging around the area. I was concerned about my car getting broken into. Luckily that didn't happen but given the area it is definitely a valid concern. Was glad I was only there for one night. If is was more than that, we would have left early and found another place to stay where we would have felt safe. There are better hotel options in the area. One star bc the hotel is old and dated and the area was nasty and unsafe. One and done for us.

So first of all, the employees are Great at this place. Misty and Raj were nice. I only stayed there one night with my mom. We ended up having to switch rooms and here is why. Our first room was very, very clean with no issues except that the bathroom sink was not draining water so I called the front desk where Misty offered for an upgrade to a suite just across the hall. I wish I would have looked at it first because it was like going to a whole different place going into this room, which was absolutely disgusting. There was a build up of dust on the ceiling fan, the carpet had stains all over the place, and there was such a stench in the room that must have been mold. It was awful. Not to mention there was a crusty dried up substance on the couch cushion. I did not want to sit anywhere, but was so tired my mom and I just decided to go in the bedroom to watch TV and go to bed and the TV didn’t work! Like other reviews said the employees are the only thing that have this hotel going for it. Needs many updates for certain rooms and on the outside hallways, carpets need replacing. They had industrial fans blowing in places. I also wasn't sure about the location. I was up constantly during the night checking on my car as i heard sounds outside.

We booked the king bed suite and requested the top floor. The hotel has 3 floors, elevator, guest washer/dryer (for a fee), vending machines, fitness center, pool with a small grill area (but no hot tub), daily breakfast, and complimentary cookies. For breakfast they served eggs, sausage, either biscuits or hash brown patties, grits, coffee, juices, tea, hot and dry cereal, waffles The room was decent size. The couch is a pullout. The TV was a good size with basic cable (we brought our firestick so we connected that using their Wi-Fi). Good shower, clean rooms!! Also inside was a mini fridge and microwave. There isn't much drawer and closet space. Customer service was amazing!! Very friendly and helpful. The outside area was just as safe and quiet as inside the hotel. There is a $75 deposit to pay if you use cash. If you use a card, they just hold on to your card number until check out (no money is taken out). There are restaurants and bars in walking distance, and other stores less than 1 mile away. Overall, if I come back to Jacksonville, I would stay here again!!

Currently staying at this hotel, and not having a good experience. Was told that I could call around 10 or 11 am for an early check in at noon. When I called l, was told that they don’t have any early check in, and I should try back around 2-2:30. Spent the day in town and arrived at the hotel at 4:30. Systems were down and was unable able to get my room because they had not been assigned for the day yet. Asked them if I could have a crib in my room when we finally get one assigned, only to find out that they do not have cribs. It is listed on their website that they do have them, and it was one of the reasons we selected this hotel. Now we had to go out and spend an extra $80 on a pack n play for my 2 year old to sleep. Since we could not get our room, went to dinner, and was finally able to check into our room a little after 7. Second floor had a very strong weed odor. Rooms overall were very nice and updated. Clean for the most part, there was a used shower cap hanging on the bathroom door. The carpets however, are very very dirty. You can see the black spots all over with the caked on dirt. Feet were black walking around barefoot. Location of the hotel is not the greatest. There’s several homeless people sleeping out by the sidewalk surrounding the hotel, and it is very close to a noisy road. This is not fault to the hotel, just a heads up. The Wi-Fi connection in the room is very poor. Strongest I’ve gotten is 1 bar inside the room, with it fading in and out not getting a strong connection at all. Overall the room is nice, but the frustration of not getting my room for more than 7 hours after being told we would be able to get it, and the lack of having what is promised on the website, is a huge let down, and we will probably not come back to this hotel again.

UPDATE: at 12:20 am two people started banging on our door asking if anyone is inside. After about 10 minutes of trying to open the door, I think they realized it wasn’t their room.

UPDATE #2: After seeing the room in daylight, I take back my comment about the room being mostly clean. The window and the air vents are covered in mold. Absolutely disgusting. I am mortified that we spent the night...

1.Upon check in customer service was nice upon check out was a younger girl who's CS skills were horrible and not very hospitality wise to guests or welcoming to come back again. After a long day of heat, was looking forward to a swim but pool was filthy no other guest went while we stayed on a wknd(that dirty). Rooms clean, beds comfortable but sofa bed had sheets with bleach holes(asked for new at desk and was very apologetic and accommodating(new girl was very nice). Needs more work to finish updating hotel, can see wear tear, cheap cover up work, maintenance cart left in elevator was inconvenient. No bugs spotted after thorough inspection. Smelled cleaned, except ice bucket of weed. Breakfast was typical but rationed and not much choices. Would go to Denny's But there's the Extremely bad neighborhood of drug dealers, homeless, thugs constantly out on corners, balconies next door, in front of every store watching everything and everyone (saw a white SUV driving around from one group to another dropping off to dealers at night and same people from night before out again with a shopping cart behind convenience store selling out of). Noise all night from highway. Out of traveling the country every city for work and living out of hotels, they do have cleanest whitest towels and linens. Was very appreciative they had 24/7 coffer, cocoa, cookies and fresh fruit available. We come every year to the area, but due to the lack of customer service at check out, dirty pool, and the extremely horrible neighborhood that this hotel has been surrounded by we will not and can not bring our family back again for safety. Thank you for the one new girl's nice service and extra toiletries...
