The location in Jacksonville Fl tried to kill me. I have ordered here several times. They are aware of my shellfish allergy. They told me when order from there they will cook my order in a wok away from shellfish. On Friday October 2, 2020. I placed my order as usual to go. When I got home I started taking my good from the bag to realize there was a shrimp in my bag. I went to the store spoke to the manager. She showed no empathy. Just looked at me like I was crazy. She said she will have them remake it. I said no I trusted you all to do the right thing the first time and this could have caused me my life. I asked for my money back. She still wanted to remake instead of giving me my money back. I told her no again. Then she acted as if she couldn’t refund me for the portion of my bill then states oh okay let me do the math I will refund 18.05, how’ve ever she refunded the entire ticket of 75.74 because she said she could not read Mediterranean. I said what she said the screens are in that language. I asked when will I get my money back she said by Wednesday October 8, 2020. I said why so long she had no answer. She then proceeded to tell me I owe her 50.25 I said for what she said for the other part of the order I told her I didn’t ask you to refund the other part she then said that’s they only way she could do it. I told her I don’t have the money therefore I was nit giving her that money. She said we don’t have it either. Still showing no state of urgency to them almost killing me. I left to go get food from somewhere else during this and came back. I see her walking with one of the cooks with her arm around his neck through the restaurant. She comes back and says I talked to them about it she said I can’t do anything but Talk to them cause yelling at them would be no good. She said she was glad this happened because it was a learning lesson for them to be more careful. I said a learning lesson for them almost killing me. She said can you keep your voice down. I said y’all just tried to kill me and you said this is a lesson. She talked with a smirk on her face the whole time. She demanded the $50 I told her she could call anyone she wanted to but I’m not giving her another $50 on top of the $75 I already paid. She said well if you don’t have it bring it back when you get the money back. I said I have it I just don’t feel like I need to be giving you $50 because y’all tried to kill me. This place is horrible they did not apparently cook my food separate from the shellfish and...
Read moreGood Morning,
I am sending this email in grievance and embarrassment. I would like to start this email by stating I have been coming to this establishment since the day it opened. I come two to three times a week. I often bring my friends, family and partner. Two friends and I are weekly regulars. We have a good time and enjoy our servers. However, yesterday after working a long strenuous day as a nurse in the middle of a pandemic I wanted to stop by my favorite restaurant. I invited my sister in law as well whom is a teacher. We were excited because I hadn’t been to my favorite place in over a month. When I walked in I was greeted by the servers and they expressed excitement to see me . Your manager stopped me in front of customers and said she needed to talk to me about tipping. Shocked , I asked her regarding what. She went on to say employees do not want to serve me because I don’t tip and if I continue to not tip she will have to add a gratuity to my check every time I come. I was shocked and embarrassed because I always TIP. I asked if she had me mistaken because she and I are friends on facebook and she recently wrote me asking when was I coming by the restaurant because it had been so long. She said her staff described me to her, I asked her for the description, she stated they said I was black, with light eyes and dreads. As you know, that description could fit multiple people in Jacksonville. I have just recently (as of Sunday) gotten my hair “locd”(dreads). The fact that I am having to tell you how often I change my hair and how this hair style I have now is new, is INHUMANE. This falls under the umbrella of “we (African Americans) all look alike”. To be threatened with a gratuity in front of customers, falsely accused and profiled was unprofessional. To be inconsiderate of the fact that we are in the middle of a PANDEMIC where millions of people are unemployed and there is a financial recession is vile. To belittle me , as a ESSENTIAL WORKER IN THE MIDST OF A PANDEMIC was cruel especially being profiled by a race based description. To be a regular that is known by name and always tip I am embarrassed. I have brought many customers to your establishment and expect to be handle with more grace and care. Your manager was rude, disrespectful and unkind. I hope that there is a resolution to be made because as of now I will not be attending your restaurant again and I do have an interview with two LOCAL media outlets next week regarding...
Read moreWe walked in and the person who greeted us was clearly headed home , they were on the phone and carrying their bags but they did seat us (that was kind of them) the atmosphere is dated and didn't really fit the vibe of what I was expecting. The place was empty but but for whatever reason everyone was sat in one section even though there were two servers on, it would have been more comfortable to be spaced out for privacy given the fact that there were only about five tables in the restaurant. We ordered waters while we looked at the drink menu, I ordered a bud light and my husband ordered a youngling draft . The youngling was out so he ordered a Sapporo , it took out server 15 minutes to bring the Sapporo over . She brought it out with our meal so I assume she just didn't want to make a extra trip to the table. Neither my husband or I have ever been to this kind of restaurant so we didn't really know how much food to order or what exactly we wanted, the server wasn't helpful . We asked if the combo boil was enough for two people because we didn't want to have left overs and she said it was not meant to be shared. We went with our own intuition and shared , it was more than enough. The food was flavorful but we had to ask for share plates witch was weird because she knew we were sharing. She set the plates down and walked away without asking if we had everything we wanted .. I had to flag her down to get the cracking tool to open our crab and then she didn't come back until our meal was basically finished and we were ready for our check. Overall I was disappointed in the whole experience. I wish we had left and gone to the other crab place on blanding ( witch is what we had discussed doing the moment we walked in the door) but we saw the reviews and everyone else seemed to have a great experience here. The food was okay but not worth putting up with the bare minimum service and what looks like dollar tree tiki...
