Dear Choice Hotel Guests I would like to personally compliment Mr. Patel and his staff on an excellent stay. From the front desk clerk Dana to the unknown maids that pay such attention to detail when cleaning the spacious rooms. And it was so nice to be greeted by Mr. Patel and his lovely wife the next morning. I appreciate it when the owners take part in the running of their properties. It really makes me feel more at home. I would like to mention a few of the highlights of my overnight stay. When checking in I notified the front desk clerk of my medical condition and she was so helpful. She took down notes in case I had a seizure and was grateful for the emergency contact information I provided. Not only was I escorted to my room but the sweet girl carried my bag for me. She lovingly helped me into my room and before departing, made sure everything was in order. When I called ahead that day and insured her of my arrival, she obliged when I asked that my air be on and at a comfortable temperature upon my arrival. These are usually things you expect at pricier hotels. Score one for me for value and service. I was so impressed. When I came down moments later to inquire about the spa and pool, the clerk provided me with fresh towels and offered to walk me down. I declined, but did ask if it would be a problem if I came back up later for a late night cup of tea. She said she would be glad if I did. Several hours later, waterlogged and ready for a cup of tea, I made my way to the lobby and asked Dana if she could join me for a cup and she agreed. The sweet and friendly girl asked me to sit in the lounge area and even made my tea for me. What excellence in service. She sat with me and before I knew it we were in deep intellectual conversation. I was so surprised that an hour flew by without me even knowing it. I thanked her for her time and, not really wanting to, sauntered off to my room. As I got up she asked if I wanted a wake up call for breakfast and gladly set one up for me. At closer inspection of the room I found it to be pristine and super spacious. The decor was average but the pillows and bed were magnificent. I always take sheets off and inspect the bedding before sleep. I found the bedding to be recent within a few years and not a stain present. The bedding and pillows were magnificent and comfortable. Sheets so white and cooling to the skin. I felt like they had just come off Grandmas clothes line. I also inspected the inside of the coffee maker, microwave, and fridge. Spotless, spotless, spotless. I got the overall impression that the rooms were cleaned by people that were in no hurry to get done and wanted to show pride in their job. I slept well and enjoyed the restful sleep. The next morning I got my wake up call as promised and made my way to the breakfast room. As I walked in the lobby I was greeted by a joyous and happy gentleman who introduced himself as Mr. Ray Patel. A moment later his equally joyous wife walked in the office and greeted me by inquiring about my stay and if my room was satisfactory. I was so impressed that these owners cared, they really cared. And you could feel it in their smiles and in the manner in which they spoke to you. Mr. Patel directed me to the breakfast buffet and asked that if there was any assistance needed he would be glad to help. My first impression. Clean kitchen and nice variety of choices. From the variety of items you could make an array of breakfast creations. I had a few selections and then knowing on a full stomach, I would want to crawl between those cool, crisp sheets and go back to sleep. I asked Mr. Patel for a late checkout and he was so gracious giving me a little extra time to sleep in. I went back to my room and off to dreamland I went. After waking and showering in a pristine and sanitary bathroom, I grudgingly dressed and finished a few emails at the desk. Never was I bothered or annoyed by maids wanting to hurry. All was quiet for me as I gathered my things and headed to the lobby for checkout. Turning in my card I bid Mr. Patel goodbye and informed him of the great girl that helped me so much the night before with my check-in. He said he would give her my thanks and said he appreciated my words of kindness. I left feeling truly valued and cared for. So in turn I ask that you share this with Mr. Patel and his wonderful staff, all of them. They are a great team and provided me with a little bit of a get away from the stress of dealing with my medical condition. I will be back and very soon. It is my intention to post all of my photos and great experience on all the blogs that I suscribe to. Until my next stay, be Blessed. Looking forward to seeing you soon ,...
Read moreIt's close to 85, though not so visible once you exit the interstate. But the signage is clear. It's a little rough looking due to the empty abandoned lot that is in front of it, but they can't help that. Once you get on the motel grounds it's clean.
The motel is small but clean and updated, as are the rooms. The TV is a little old and mine didn't want to list out the channels but I was only there for an overnight stay so I didn't bother with it.
Amenities in the room are like you expect - mini fridge, microwave, plastic ice bucket, coffee maker, basic toiletries.
The room was a comfortable temperature and humidity and the bed was very comfy. I didn't need the shower so I didn't test the water pressure but the sink and toilet worked and didn't leak.
There's free WiFi but I didn't use it.
Now the big thing is noise. You can hear everything between rooms. Phone conversations that aren't loud, TV, people walking around since the floors are tiled. I heard the guests next to me, sounder like a grandfather with his grand daughter based off one of the phone conversations and the pitch of their voices discuss what to order from the Taco Bell across the street (chicken chalupa, for her) and then him leaving and returning and explaining how they were out of one of the things.
The sound from the hall is even more pronounced, almost amplified from all the tiling. When I got there around 5 there weren't that many guests but given it's right off 85 it gets quite a bit of late night check ins from tired travelers. Workman, families, you name it. They were coming in past 2am and I could hear them dragging their gear up the stairs, walking down the hall, conversation. At 1 am a young family came in and the two small boys were wired from being up so late they were running down the hall and yelling back at their parents, both of whom went SHHHHHHHH so the little kids started whisper shouting while running. All the comings and goings of people going out for food, to the vending machines, or the ice maker, etc.
So if you're sensitive to noise, keep this in mind. I just so happened to not mind. I couldn't sleep even though I was tired but at least I wasn't bored!
They serve a breakfast until 10 but I didn't try it. The staff at both check in and check out were friendly and efficient.
Like many who likely stay here it's something where you're tired and just need a clean, safe place. And this provides that.
I didn't get out to get food but that area has plenty of fast food, what looks like a real Mexican restaurant, the big 3 gas station shops. In fact I got a fairly decent chicken salad sandwich from the Race Trac.
I would say I had an overall positive experience. Safe, clean, comfortable, convenient. Affordable. Just noisy. I...
Read moreI picked this hotel based on reviews, price & location to where I needed to be. It was difficult to find the entrance and I had to do a u-turn several times.||When I walked to my room, the hall smelled musty. Got into my room and the a/c was not on and the room was kind of musty smelling too. Once I turned on the a/c and brought in my little fan from the car things got better.||The next day my friend checked in & mentioned how bad her room smelled. I went to her room and almost gagged. It smelled like a dirty, damp, musty basement. Now I knew where that smell in the hallway was coming. We reported it to the front desk and the owner's wife did not want to be helpful at all. She wanted to charge my friend for the room even though she hadn't brought luggage in, sat on the bed or used the bathroom. The little lady finally moved my friend up stairs to another room. But she told us repeatedly that the room did not smell - there were 3 of us who can vouch how horrible that room was. ||Breakfast was a joke - staff (the same little lady) used her fingers to restock a danish. Round scrambled eggs were put out 3 at a time with 3 sausage patties. They were cold. ||The first night I noticed a clump of hair in the corner of my bathroom. My room was serviced the next day but the clump of hair remained. I put out the do-not-disturb sign the next 2 mornings. My room was serviced that 3rd day - they ignored the do-not-disturb tag and yep, the clump of hair was still there. It was still there when I left. I know it's not mine because my hair is gray.||I was embarrassed by this hotel because I recommended this place to 2 other groups.||Oh yea, this place had no elevator! ||When I got home & unpacked all my belongings - dirty and clean - smelled musty. Even...
