Am really quite impressed with this place. I stayed yesterday and over night b/c my house was to be without electricity until the next day. I didn’t want to spend a lot for one night, so for phone charging needs, comfortable temp., light, and TV, this place seemed perfect. It’s not a huge place which means fewer people. It’s on an active and busy street of Jeffersonville (and brightly lit at night) but you aren’t disturbed by any outside street noise at all. It’s really quiet, which helped give me an 8+ hour night of uninterrupted sleep. The room was especially clean and well maintained for an older building. It has nice wood floors and a beautifully updated tub/shower stall and vanity in the bathroom. Microwave, sizable mini fridge, larger size TV mounted for comfortable bed viewing. Very good value for the price!
Suggestions to the proprietor: Get rid of cable TV, save a good bit of money and direct that savings to new smart TVs for…..(wait for it)…….streaming. Streaming means anything that comes to mind that I want to watch, I can. Most everyone has their own Prime Video or Netflix or Hulu or YouTube, etc. account and can just sign into their account with smart TVs. No more cable bill for 50 or more rooms! Besides, you need to update those TVs anyways. I could not do anything with my phone like screen share or anything that requires Bluetooth. You can change all of that by just updating the TVs and there be no other cost to you.
Finally, I will mention that I did not see the proprietor or any staff for the whole time I was there. And that’s nice, because they’re not nosy. But they are there if you need them. As I was checking out of the room this morning, I left the room key on the table by the door and exited to leave. Before I got out of the parking lot, I realized that I left my phone on nightstand. I rang the bell at the office, the proprietor came and without question, he walked the entire length of that property to where my room was, unlocked the door and let me back in to get what I left and offered to let me do a once over of the room again just to be sure I got everything. I appreciate people out there that put integrity into their work, into their product and into their interactions...
Read moreI've been staying in Jeff for about a month now, on & off, for my spouse's job. I give my ratings based on comparable businesses. So this is my opinion based on other "Motels" The daily rate we've been paying here is inexpensive, that's the main reason we stay here. Besides that the rooms are spacious. I'm in a room with a single King sized bed. (I'm not sure if they have different configurations or not) The mattress is awesome! It's incredibly comfortable & clean. (I inspect anywhere that I stay thoroughly!) . The door has an inside lock, like a dead bolt, that (even with a room key) doesn't allow access to the room. That helps ease my anxiety if nothing else. The window unit blows Ice cold air. I'm a "hot blooded" person so AC performance is a high priority for me. There's a nice sized night stand on each side of the bed, a desk & chair. On the opposite side of the room there's a media console with drawers, shelving, a microwave, minifridge & a large flat screen mounted to the wall above it. There's a huge window that stretches across the front of the room for natural light but legit black out curtains so you can sleep in easily. Other than the typical outdated decor my cons for this motel is the minifridge doesn't have a freezer or even the little freezer shelf that most have. There's not an ice maker or any vending on the property for that matter. (There's a dollar general directly across the street though) The quality & quantity of towels is below average. I'd be happier if there was a lamp on one/both of the nightstands & another chair so the desk could also be utilized as a dinette. The Wifi doesn't work for the room I'm in. I'm furthest from the office so I believe that's why because when we go outside to our vehicle it seems to work fine. I haven't heard or seen anything wild or "Sus" since we've been staying here, I haven't seen any of the "icky" type of bugs & I can't hear the...
Read moreThe Holiday Motel is a simple, budget motel situated in Jeffersonville Indiana on 10th street. Only about 5 minutes away from the Ohio river, and 10 minutes away from Louisville Kentucky, and all of it's attractions such as the zoo, Louisville Slugger Museum and so on. My stay was in November, and unfortunately, I was disappointed. Even as far as 1 star motels go. Checking in was easy enough, though if you're thinking of making a reservation to make sure you have a room, think again. This motel DOES NOT TAKE RESERVATIONS. Checking in is hassle free, with a credit card purchase there is a slight upcharge of 3 dollars. Bringing my total to $49 Dollars a night. The room itself is as basic, as basic can get. Queen size bed, small projection TV, Basic cable channels, and your usual furniture. The Shower was a nightmare. While itself clean, the water knob was broken. I could only get it to go luke warm at best for a shower. If you enjoy cold showers, this isnt a problem. My main concern was cleanliness. The room was clean until you got to the carpet. After walking on it a bit, your feet (or shoes) will be black. The carpets desperately need cleaning. ||In conclusion, this place should be a last resort. Even for the price, I would not recommend it to anyone. Especially given the amount of budget options in the area, even on the very...
