Best Western Sawtooth Inn & Suites — Hotel in Jerome

Stayed at this hotel a few times throughout the course of a couple months over the summer with a job I worked at. The rooms were okay. Hot water was inconsistent in the mornings and evenings. Pillows weren’t the most comfortable and the beds were on the much firmer side. One of the ones we had smelled really bad, and one of my coworkers held a black light up to one of the decorative sheets and you could see stains on it, and the wall too. Thankfully that wasn’t a room I ever ended up in.

One of the nights we were here, the fire alarm system malfunctioned and went off shortly before midnight. It was the loudest thing I have ever heard, and my ears were ringing for several hours after. And this is coming from someone who works in aviation, and has accidentally forgotten earplugs when near an idling jet engine. I know fire alarms are meant to be loud, but that is way too excessive, and you probably want to get that fixed before someone files a lawsuit for hearing loss.

What I did really like however, is the breakfast. Made to order eggs and omelettes, pancakes, French toast, you name it. It was really good. My only complaint about that is the biscuits for the biscuits and gravy were served at room temperature, which made the texture not the best. But then again this is a hotel, not exactly a breakfast restaurant.

The pool was decent. And it especially felt good after a very long and hot day at work in the sun. Nothing too fancy, but it’s there if you need it.

For a one night stay, this would be perfect. But if you were in the rather unfortunate position where you had to stay here for a few weeks for work, there are better options out there, like AirBNBs. But then again maybe my experience here would have been more enjoyable if I didn’t have to share a room with a coworker. So...

Location is easy to get to off freeway. There is adequate parking even if you have a trailer. The hallway carpets are visibly dirty as was the carpet in the room. The chair in our room has spots/stains visible. Size was adequate. The pool uses lots of chlorine. Hot tub is small but hot. Staff indifferent for most interactions. We left a backpack in the room (I acknowledge this was my fault) however when they discovered it there was no notification that it had been left behind. So we did not discover it was left until late evening when we returned home which meant that I had to drive 7 hours to retrieve it. If they had called when it was found or even when housekeeping turned it in to the desk then I was still in town and could have just stopped and picked it up. The staff were not even helpful when I asked why they don't have a system to do so, just stated it goes in lost and found. I wish they could have had common sense that it was not a small item and would be needed... if it was a basic thing I can see not bothering to call, but a whole backpack full of stuff to me is a no brainer that the person would want it back. Call to management and they were not in during what are normal business hours. My daughter and I stayed here during our girls get away. We absolutely enjoyed our trip. Pool is open 24hours. I got to enjoy a free glass of wine between 6-8pm while my daughter had her free pop. Our room was clean and the beds....oh my goodness our beds were so comfortable. I can't remember the last time I slept for more than half the night without waking. Staff was friendly. Our free breakfast was good. My daughter loved she could make her own waffles. I wasn't as impressed with the ladies serving breakfast but not enough to change my 5star review. Everything else was perfect. I also liked that Walmart was across the street. A quick trip and even walked to enjoy fresh air. Grabbed some facemasks and snacks and we were set. Well definitely be back again when we're staying over near here.

**edit to add. We had the opportunity to stay here again last night. I wanted to add the ladies this morning serving breakfast were delightful. They greeted every single person walking in as if they knew them including myself and my son. The was good.

Also the young lady that checked us in last night was great. Bless her heart for staying after her shift so not to leave the other employee alone during the busy checkin. Full...
