Hotel Lotus - Bed Bug Reporting Stayed 1 night. Very slow bathroom drain in sink. Needs to be fixed to be sanitary to brush teeth/wash face/wash hands. Woke up at 7:30am September 11, 2022. Pulled the sheets back on the bed and found a motionless bedbug the size of an adult pinky finger nail on the sheet next to my upper leg when I pulled the covers back to get out of bed. Inspected the other bed in the room (Room 228) and found a very small, size of a ball point pen tip, bed bug. Called the front desk and 3 employees immediately came and housekeeping confirmed both were bedbugs. I did a quick look around mattress and under sheets and didn't find more. Did find rust/brown small stains up near pillow area of sheet. Have not felt and itching on body nor have I seen signs of bites yet. Hotel did compensate me for the night without me needing to ask. They were going to have an exterminator come after we checked out. They do not turn on the heat yet so the room got down to low 60's even with the heater turned 'on'. I would look elsewhere before considering staying here again. However, all the hotel staff was courteous and respectful from check-in through the bed bug incident.

This hotel is by far one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in for quite some time. The lobby smells of sweet perfume but not sickly sweet. It's just NICE! Then, the manager who was on duty was very helpful. They have an elevator, so there's no lugging your luggage up and down stairs. It's a bigger hotel so they even have a conference room if you're interested in booking a company gig or birthday party. The bed is soft and soothes my aching back after a long couple of days of hard driving. This isn't a roach motel, and you don't have to worry about people doing drugs outside your room or next door. I know that some people might have had a bad experience here, but don't let that stop you from getting a great experience at a reasonable price. It helps if you book online since you'll pay more at the front desk. The room doesn't smell damp or musty. It has an aromatic smell to it, which is quite pleasant. The only thing I'd like to warn you about is it seems like they share a parking lot, so you have designated parking areas. If you have any questions of where you can park, then the person at the front desk will be happy to help.

I have stayed at some dumps before and while this was not the worst, it's in the top 10 of the worst. The A/C was not working properly throughout the entire hotel. (I was offered a 15% discount from my reservation for that inconvenience.) Upon checking in, they ran a $100 charge against my credit card for "incidentals". Upon checking out, they wouldn't give me a receipt until housekeeping inspected my room for damages later in the day. While I was emailed an invoice later that day which included the promised discount, they actually charged the full rate to my credit card. I found a big, dead bug on the bathroom floor. The soap, shampoo, and conditioner inside the dispenser mounted in the shower looked "spoiled".(see attached pics) The decor inside the room including the wallpaper and bedding was vintage 1970's. There was a large outside area of the parking lot fenced off and appeared to the remnants of something that had been torn down long ago with no plans to rebuild whatever it was. I suspect this hotel will eventually shut down like the former Adam's Mark across the street. I would not stay here again.

I wanted to like this place because it’s right across the street from the Arrowhead stadium where my family and I will be headed for the first time ever Christmas Day but I unfortunately can’t say that. Upon pulling in, it was very dark, looked like they had some construction going on, there were only a few cars in the parking lot (that and the fact that were some pretty negative reviews) should have told me everything I needed to know but my husband and I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt because throughout our years of traveling we know that sometimes places can be a “Diamond in the rough” with that being said, my husband pulls in and goes to check in and grab our room keys. Like I said prior, the location is rough so when he didn’t come out after 15 mins of us waiting in the car I called him to see what was taking so long, he stated that he was still waiting to be checked in and that there was no one at the front desk. After getting off the phone with me he ended up having to call the hotel number while standing at the desk to get someone to finally come and check him in.

He gets our keys and we go check out the room together to make sure that it’s something that we’re going to feel comfortable with seeing that there were already a couple things making us question it. We walk into the room, off jump, it smelt like fish. We looked around some more and noticed that the chair in the corner had some kind of stain on it and the dresser that the TV sits on was very sticky. To me, if you’re missing small areas like that it makes me question whether the sheets are clean or if you even cleaned the toilet 😷

Long story short, it grossed me out and I told my husband that it just didn’t feel right to be paying the amount of money that we were paying and to be getting that kind of service and he agreed so after viewing the room and deciding that we wanted out of our 2 day reservation at this location, we called Expedia to ask them to change our stay to a different hotel. Expedia had called the hotel to try and get them to refund us for the two whole days but the hotel refused. The hotel told Expedia that they could only refund us for one night which I thought was ridiculous considering that we didn’t even want to stay here in the first place so I went to the front desk myself and voiced my concern to this guy named Lucky (which was SO nice) he stated that he couldn’t get his GM to answer the phone and asked me to call her back tomorrow from 7-3 which I definitely intend on doing.

If I were you, I wouldn’t waste my time coming here no matter how close it is to the stadium. I’m just looking out for anyone the way that I would want someone to look out for me and my family.

For the same price, Expedia was able to get our reservation switched over to a way nicer hotel downtown next to lots of fun attractions. Maybe there’s hope in this Christmas weekend after all 💛 ❤️

UPDATE Spoke with Jenell the GM for this location today 12/24 as promised in my prior post 12/23. She was combative and wouldn’t even let me get a sentence in without being in denial of the issues with the property. Just to reiterate again, as a warning, please take these reviews to heart so that you will not be disappointed. Also, as stated in my prior post the night worker, Lucky, was as helpful as he was allowed to be, but after speaking with management I can tell why he was not allowed to help in a way that he truly wanted to. BBB complaint will be filed and further action is being...

Comparing me experience to the hundreds of hotel stays I've had in my lifetime. First I am always someone who has shown up early for check-in and in the past every other hotel had been able to accommodate up to a couple hours early at least. I was an hour and half before 4pm check in and not only was I ignored initially waiting for help the concierge then helped to check me in. After she then said I had to pay the early check in fee. I was taken back because it never been asked of me before and the difference in time seemed so arbitrary. She happily delivered the news with attitude and didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. She could of mentioned this before she began the check in process with me. I wasn't going to pay 50 to check in a little early and so I left to try to stay busy till 4pm. I killed time for only about an hour and returned still a half hour early. I was going to sit in the lobby for the last half but noticed other guests getting checked in without being asked for the early check in fee. I then got myself up to check in and the new concierge told me after that only a half hour early they would not charge me. We great they could of told me that I could come back at 3:30 to begin with. That was my first sour experience with customer service. The second was the next day, when I went to the front desk for assistance. No one was there and I understand things can come up so I waited patiently. After about 10 min I did the all to famous cough to try to get someone's attention without bluntly screaming hello is anyone there? No one came for another 5min and I saw the office doors open so I decided to sneak around into the store on the other side and peer in behind the counter there and saw a pair of socked feet proped up on the desk. I guess employees here get paid for nap time? Very frustrating experience and enough to compell me to leave me first negative review of a hotel. There were other bad things about the hotel but those were things I believe were less out of the hotel's control. If you are going to stay here don't expect peace and quiet. Being by stadium you are obviously going to get loud obnoxious groups that are going to fill the lobby with noise which echoes right into your room. People complain about homeless on here. there were a lot sadly but they weren't a bother to anyone. The best part of the hotel though was the cleanliness. The maids here are amazing for dealing with how disgusting and trashy...

Within the past month I have stayed at this location 3 times. The first time was accidentally charged for two rooms plus the standard $100 deposit. The supervisor was very helpful in starting the refund process for the additional room. Waited the standard 7 days to recover the funds. Only to find the deposit was not refunded. Spoke to the lady at the front desk and was told she was going to contact the credit card copy because I was supposed to have received it. The second time checked in later so asked to get an extended check out. Had issues with the housekeeping trying to come in. The third time and will be the last time I ever stay in this establishment. I checked in in the early morning hours asked for an extended check out was told no problem asked the night worker to notate my account to reflect the extended check out. Was told that it was notated. Upon entering the room I noticed and took pictures of damage and burn holes in the carpet from previous guests. I took photos of the damage dated and timestamped that they were not from me and went to sleep. I woke up around 11 went to my car and discovered that my card had several charges from the motel over drafting my account. Totaling over $300 not including the fee for the room and my deposit. I immediately went to my room to discover that the housekeeping had entered the room went through all my belongings and tossed everything around in the room. Some of my belongings had been taken. The housekeeping violated me and my belongings but hadn't even started cleaning the room. I went to the front desk to clear everything up and was met with management will not be in till Monday. I explained that I was from out of town and they wrongfully took money out of my account and what money I did have leaving me overdrawn in my bank account. Having no way to go back home and no way to pay somewhere else to stay. I asked to speak to a manager and all I kept being told is management is not in till Monday. So here I am with an over drawn account plus the money that was in my purse leaving me with management won't be in till Monday. All while I was still technically their guest. Hadn't even checked out of my room. And to think if I have to wait the standard 7 business days for funds to be rightfully returned I could be losing a lot more than the over $500 that has been stolen from me. Like my job and source of income not being able to make...
