Don’t say we didnt warn you!
I read all the reviews of this place but because it was by the airport and doubletrees are normally nice and safe places to stay, I disregarded the reviews against my better judgement. I fully regret that now. I’m not going to post pics of the room, hall, entry etc, like I normally would, but of why I’m giving this place 1 star.
First, my cookie was cold. That alone should make you skeptical of this place. No one cares enough to keep them in the warmer.
Second, I called down three times to the front desk starting in the evening and into the night because of the ac unit. It is soooooooo loud and makes these horrible noises. Each time they told me maintenance would be up. The last time I called I said I wanted to change rooms and she said she would call maintenance again. No one ever showed up from ANY time I called down. Should I have gone downstairs and complained face to face? Yes. I should have packed up all my stuff and demanded service. Thankfully I packed earplugs. But now I’m up at 6 and cant go back to sleep. I can even hear the ac units making the noise in the rooms around me! We are right next to the airport and I can’t even hear the planes, that’s how loud these units are. FIX YOUR UNITS!!!! Quit ignoring people’s calls and all the many reviews and take action! Now on the rooms.
They are Mona Lisas. At first glance they look nice and updated. Upon closer inspection, it’s a lie. The beds are so loud and cheap (you’ll know what I mean by loud when you go to lay on them or turn over in the night), the tiny carpet between the beds needs carpet tape cause it slips, the shower head isn’t installed correctly, the toilet installation is sloppy too, the bathroom is the smallest bathroom I’ve ever seen in a hotel and you will touch the vanity when sitting on the toilet (it’s so tight they had to put the toilet paper holder on a floor-standing unit), the window curtains are this cheap feeling material that don’t fully cover the window (which is part of the reason I’m up right now), the track for the closet doors aren’t even screwed into the floor so they move, some areas of the room were missed on paint day, the phone headset doesn’t even fit the holder, the first time I used the phone none of the buttons worked, only one toiletry bottle on the shower wall had product in it so I had to use shampoo to wash my body, the desk chair is so cheap, there is a hole with some random wires in the closet, the halls are hot and smelly, and the list goes on.
I’m about ready to legit kick that ac unit out the window. Make the necessary changes people keep writing about in their...
Read moreI travel a lot for work. Ended up here for two nights for a small conference. It’s close to the airport, and that’s about where the good parts stop. The front desk attendants didn’t have me listed as having a room. It eventually got fixed, and I’m not quite sure whose mixup that was, but there was only one attendant with enough experience to know how to remedy the issue. She was very polite and I appreciated her efforts. Unfortunately, this poor person worked there until after 10 pm and was back the next morning. That’s not a good way to treat your people.
Parking was not explained, however, and we ended up driving around until we figured it out on our own to use the gated area in the back and the room key for access. Getting back into the hotel was also guesswork, which was frustrating in the rain.
The elevator was pretty nasty and had someone’s chewing tobacco spit on the floor. The room was small for a Hilton, and the ac/heating unit was nearly as loud as a lawnmower. Not exaggerating on that. Figured out the thermostat on the wall had nothing to with the actual unit. You have to set it directly on the unit itself. Good thing too because it was 40 degrees outside and the AC was set to cool.
The internet is so bad that we can just say it does not work. I was better off using my phone as a hotspot to get work done.
The restaurant is an exercise in patience. No one to seat me for breakfast. Other guests told me there was no one there when they came either. I just went in and started at the buffet without anyone there. I had to hunt down utensils. I found a plastic set in an adjoining room. Someone finally showed up at that point and gave the other guests some metal flatware. I didn’t get that attention, though. I just finished eating with my plastic ones. I went to pay. This is where it got weird.
On day one, I had to pay and did. On day two, the person (a different person) said I didn’t have to pay and to just write my airline down on the sign in sheet. I realized this place had a contract with Spirit and possibly some other airlines for their pilots and attendants when I saw the sheet. I explained I was not with them and just wanted to pay and not have it charged to the room. She said oh don’t worry. You won’t be charged. Just sign the sheet. Ok. Well, a free breakfast is good I guess, so I signed the sheet, but I wondered why I was charged the day before. I guess we will see what shows up on my card. And should I have been charged at all on day one? This is definitely a disorganized operation. I cannot recommend anyone...
Read moreDoubletree, Being a Hilton Hotel, this is the WORST Customer Service I have ever encountered between Staff and they Customer Service number.
We stayed on February 5th for one night.
We asked for additional pillows and towels when we got into the room.
As for the Towels, there were 2 sets in the room and with 3 different adults in the room, yes, I asked for 4 more initially, however one extra set for a 3rd person Could have been the minimum, however after waiting over 9 hours for towels and pillows, they refused by saying there were no additional pillows as well as towels were dirty.
Plus I legitimately have acid reflux which with a few extra pillows can keep myself from getting sick in the middle of the night, didn’t happen, woke up choking 3 times and didn’t really sleep well or really at all.
There is a sticker on the mirror in the room that says they would be happy to supply extra towels and pillows…
Absolutely horrible!!! The evening/night staff were rude and so disrespectful.
I heard the room housekeepers in the Hallway and they were just awful. They had a whole cart full of clean towels. And asked for one, She repeated, you want a set of towels, I said yes, they look at each other, spoke spanish to each other and rolled their eyes at me.
Not only did I not sleep the entire night, we had to share towels, we’re treated extremely rudely.
Plus because I booked through a 3rd party, their customer service made it clear that their staff could treat us however they wanted and when we pointed out what she said, she tried to back track.
If I could give less than 1 star, I would.
The only decent experience was with the early check in, and the Bartender that evening, she was really nice.
So...
