(Sunday, 05/25, 4:00) The food: Despite the long wait, the food was very good! The chicken is hot and flavorful, and not dry at all. The side of yucca fries with their sauce has always been a favorite of mine. They offer horchata, lemonade, iced tea, and mango drink along with soft drinks. They also offer online ordering for those who wish to skip the wait.
The service: Quite the opposite of “fast” food. The cashier took well over 5 minutes to attend each person/group (the restaurant was not busy when we arrived). Also, all of the decorations, signs, etc. are written in English, despite it being a chain originating in Guatemala... Something else I noticed—the kitchen is a bit sloppy, and one of the staff threw around the word “gringo” (a derogatory term commonly used for white Americans) to single out a white man waiting on his order (side note: i think he noticed LOL). The rest of the staff were polite, though, especially the young man who was waiting tables. The wait times are very long for being advertised as a fast-food chain, however, the restaurant seems understaffed, so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. The floors are trashed, and there’s only one cashier to work both the drive thru and in-house registers. I suggest some remodeling and more staff. It has gone downhill since the grand opening. Read moreUPDATE: Ok again after about 2 years of me deciding not to go back. I decided to give them another chance. I placed my order online for curbside pickup I got email confirmation and to press "I'm here" when I get there. All good. I get there I press I'm here . Message say thank you, we'll be there shortly. Wait and wait and wait for 25 min. I really didn't mind that but when I called they had no idea I'm there and she told me they have no employees. Ok why u offer the curbside option then if that's the case? what made it worse and made me really upset. They didn't have what I ordered. Ok why they didn't call me as a good customer service and notify me? Bad bad customer service. This time I'm done. Yes I'm sure lol.
My old review: The food is great. My only issue with them that each time I went for take out, one way or another they managed to make a mistake with my order. And I still never learned my lesson lol. Always check your order before leaving. UPDATE. i went back yesterday. To be honest with you. I think I'm not going back. I can understand when the staff does a mistake the first, the second even the third time. I would say ok it's training issue. BUT u get there and again staff barely can understand you and still missed some of your order Again. Read moreI've driven by this place a bunch of times... just didn't want to go to a place I knew nothing about. Well, yesterday, I decided to use the coupon I had... and made the trip over therefor a take-out order.
WARNING... the driveway entrance is NOT directly in front of the restaurant... as I expected. [ I suggest that you drive into the gas station on the corner... and make your way over to the driveway to the restaurant. ]
I really liked their chicken. I had some fried and some grilled. In both cases the chicken is marinated long enough to have that delicious flavor penetrate the meat.
The fried chicken is crispy and not greasy. The grilled chicken has tiny chunks of the marinade stuck to the skin. All... delicious!
And the side dishes are SO interesting. They include some that were definitely unexpected... like a grilled corn salad, fried plantains, and fried yuca sticks.
My relative also enjoyed the meal... a lot more than I expected. He's ill right now and I was surprised by how enthusiastic he was about the chicken and the sides. 👍🤓
I got to chat with the manager, Dany. Very nice guy... who really cares about his product and his company.
