This is a hidden gem!
I looked at a LOT of hotels before booking this one. The main reason we ended up here is because they take larger dogs (under 70 pounds) and we have a 55 pound Lab. Everywhere else is 25pounds or under. But I would book this again in a heart beat, dog or no dog.
It's located in an industrial area so it's QUIET at night! Of course, we were there on weekend nights, so I can't speak to a weekday. It's close enough to convenient restaurants (there's even a Starbucks basically less than a small block away, easy to walk to), and I-5, and a dog park, and... it's just in a great spot for what we needed.
I LOVED how secure it was. We got there in the evening hours so had to be let in. You have to use your key card to even get the elevators to take you to your floor. AWESOME extra measure of precaution.
I appreciate that a full breakfast is served, not just something wimpy. It was nothing to write hope about, but also nothing to complain about either.
The coffee is out in the lobby 24/7! That was a huge help as we don't ever brew coffee in our room, because... well, ick.
FYI! Because the hotel is on the "older" side, I was excited to find a real (drip) coffee maker in our room and not one of those gross, unfortunate Keurig pod/button "coffee" makers. Didn't really matter anyway because we prefer lobby coffee! :)
We always book hotels with a pool because we have a son who loves swimming. I love to soak in a hot tub, too. The pool and hot tub could have been warmer. That was a bit of a bummer, but we still used it twice and my son was still happy.
Having a dog here is great! There is a huge grassy area one one end of the hotel. They have good lightning out there for a night time potty break and also have some poop bags just in case you've forgotten yours. BEWARE the rabbits! There are some adorable little bunnies that were out and about. If your dog is a chaser, that will be a problem.
As for a few things that could be addressed.
The TV in our room did not work properly - very old TV, so not entirely surprised. It was glitchy and had some kind of connection issue. So, I watched a movie on my phone, though I would have preferred something on TV.
The refrigerator/freezer made a lot of crazy sounds, but it worked well. It even was able to freeze my cool packs for my cooler. We turned on the air/fan so it was running constantly and that drowned out the sound of the fridge.
We would have appreciated having access to the cold water in the kitchen area. There is no place to get decent cold water. When I asked the front desk attentend, she said the best place was in the workout room. I trotted down there, filled my bottle... I would barely have called it "cool" water. Not warm, but definitely not cold. If the staff aren't comfortable letting people into the kitchen area for water, it would be best to leave out a huge ice water station by the coffee - the coffee is provided 24/7, so why not cold water? (PS, the ice machine on our hall was broken and it was a chore to find where ice was available).
Overall, 10/10 and if we have to be back in the area again, we'll stay here again. Thank you for taking large dogs! There are so few...
Read moreMost of the staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. Especially David. He gave us a warm and energetic welcome upon coming back in the hotel during the evenings as well as remembered my name. Tay was helpful as well. Maria during breakfast went over and beyond to help me with my breakfast options. I had an initial issue with the room which was worked out with David. Once the room was changed due to a bad odor in the first room, things went well. The housekeeping team was excellent, especially two of the ladies (can't remember their names now and don't want to say them wrong. They know who they are. I gave both of them tips) The location was ok for me. Nice and quiet area. Oh didn't like that the pool wasn't working. If I wanted, I was offered to go to a nearby hotel to use their pool if I wanted. That's not too cool especially because it wasn't always hot while I was there. Work on the indoor pool. Overall, this hotel is good. I would return...
Read moreWhen I have to travel for business to our Kent location I stay at the Hampton Inn. The staff is friendly and the Hotel is clean, from the lobbies to the rooms.
I gave it 4 starts because I am an open window sleeper and the main street facing rooms tend to pick up a traffic noise fairly early. They are located close to Boeing, and Amazon is next door, not a big deal but I live in a quiet neighborhood so I'm not use to street sounds at night.
I have stayed here about 10 nights since late last year and it is my favorite hotel, consistency is the best way to describe my visits.
Lupe is the front desk person during the day and she is friendly and a joy to do business with.
If you find yourself in the Seattle area for work or pleasure I would recommend the Hampton in Kent,...
