Read moreWe stayed at the Super 8 Motel in Keokuk, Iowa for two days and we were so pleasantly surprised that we extended for another day. While it’s a two-star property, it delivers solid basics: clean rooms, friendly staff, and a convenient location. The bed was comfortable, the AC worked well, and housekeeping did a good job each day. There’s no luxury here, but if you’re just looking for a place to sleep and shower, plus a solid breakfast to get you going for the day it’s a great budget option. We appreciated the 24-hour front desk and free Wi-Fi too. Overall, excellent value for the price! In addition, we made this our base to visit the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saint historical sites in Nauvoo and Carthage. It was only a 20 minute drive from our hotel to Nauvoo. It was a lovely drive along the Mississippi River with many “pretty as a picture” turnouts to stop and admire the beautiful river with its ducks, Canadian geese, and we even saw some bald eagles do some hunting on the Mississippi. We even had a super Walmart nearly across the street from the hotel where we were able to get supplies for our trip. There were many delicious restaurants in Keokuk as well as fast food and we loved the Mexican restaurant near the hotel that had $6 lunch specials everyday. We are definitely coming back to...
Read moreDo not stay here! We walk in our room and a roach ran across the floor. We pull the sheets down and there’s a hair on the sheets. We look at the ceiling and there’s loose wires hanging out. It appears the light fixture was missing. Under the bed was trashed with food. We went to the front desk to get out of here. The lady at the counter wanted to give us another room. I told her there is no way, I am staying here. She started To argue with me that the room was in tiptop shape. I have a picture of the ceiling. She offered to give us another room. You give me a room that has hanging wires from the ceiling. I told her to just refund the funds back to my card. She said oh, I will have to ask the manager how to do that because I do not know how to do it. I am pretty sure her and her husband are the owners. We were there for a matter of minutes. She still hasn’t issued a refund. We were there for about 5 minutes. You should refund the money. There is no way all these reviews are true. The hotel is a dump. The outside doors are wide open. They have a keypad that doesn’t work. Do yourself a favor and stay at the...
