Reservation was easy as all ways and welcomed when I arrived. Clerk was very busy taking care of problems for other guests and complaining about lack of help. I waited patiently. My check in went smoothly. We arrived at our door on the second floor and neither key would work. My husband stayed with the suitcases and I went back to the front desk, again waiting patiently while she dealt with other "problems". She acted as if I didn't know how to use the key (maybe my age??). I explained HIE was our preferred hotel and I don't usually have a problem with the key. She said there was no man to check on the door so she would have to re issue the keys, which she did. I returned to the second floor and those keys also would not work. I went back down. She said since she had no help she would have to change our room. I told her that was fine. New room 2 doors down, keys worked, ready to relax after a 10 hour drive. 3 TV remote controls none of them worked. Discovered TV had been turned off at the back. Turned on Tv but couldn't change sound level, channel, etc. none of the controls worked, we even tried changing batteries. My husband is not happy. I try to set the air conditioner, its blowing air but you can't turn it down. It's above 70 degrees where it stays. Now I'm not happy. My husband goes to get ice in the ice bucket and none of the ice machines are working except on the 3rd floor. So at least we have ice for our drinks. We travel with a small ice chest with frozen water bottles instead of ice. The norm is to put the food in the refrigerator the bottles in the freezer and repack the next morning. Refrigerator not on, has been unplugged. We plug it in it appears to work, but next morning bottles are melted and food is warm. We go down for breakfast at 6:35 and man is explaining he is running late and things won't be ready for another 30 minutes. We take our luggage and leave. We stay at HIE and book through IHG because we can depend on a certain level of service. We understand that things happen. We don't usually complain. If I have a problem I don't yell or complain to the clerk who has no power. When this many things fail at the same time it shows a lack of leadership. I book and stay with IHG because I travel for pleasure and I don't expect this level of service. Please check in to this so that other members do not...
Read moreI stay in multiple Holiday Inn Expresses and other IHG hotels all over the southwest. I stay in hotels approximately 60 nights a year for work. Of every IHG brand hotel I have stayed in, this is without a doubt the worst property I have ever stayed in. The quality is not at all consistent with the HIE name or IHG brand. I understand that this is a privately owned property, but the fact that IHG allows this property to operate so far below what customers have come to expect from the brand is disheartening.
Not only is it outdated with visible damage to walls, ceilings and bathrooms, but as often as not it isn’t even stocked with necessary supplies. On multiple occasions the front desk as told me there are no bottles of water available. Not just in the room to be used for coffee, but at the front desk or pantry either. That is as basic an amenity as any hotel guest would expect.
I have stayed here multiple times, without any improvement in the stay quality. The first time I stayed here I was woken at 3AM by a cockroach crawling across my head. Called the front desk to report. Was not moved rooms or refunded the night’s stay. On a subsequent stay they put me in a room that was already occupied. When I opened the door, there were other guests there. Luckily they didn’t shoot me. On this most recent stay, no water anywhere to be found.
If my employer did not have a corporate agreement with IHG branded hotels I would not be staying at this location. Given the relative lack of lodging options in Kingman, it would be tough to find other alternatives. But I’m at the point of paying out of my own pocket to stay at a non...
Read moreLet me start with the Hotel amenities first.
While booking, I had mentioned 2 queen bed with sofa bed suit but once arrived, I was told they do not have any rooms like that. I was also informed that their website lists incorrectly. I was difficult with roll on bed which was provided but we managed as it was pretty late ( 12 AM). Staff was good and accommodating. -Hotel itself is pretty dated and did not look like Holiday Inn. -Breakfast was decent and have no complaints.
Now the worst part While checking out, saw my car window was vandalized and few of the items were stolen from the car. It was 4 AM when my car alarm triggered but I guess no one was awake or alerted. I saw my dashcam footage and know the timing of vandalism. Receptionist told me they have no camerar anywhere out side the building - which is shocking. Police complaint was made.
For a hotel with $200+ night charge, and does not have basic property security is nothing but surprising. I know vehicle and properties inside the vehicle is not hotels responsibility but providing a sense of safety and assistance to help police - should be the responsibility. With No camera, even cop told me they can't do much.
I am traveling from Texas to CA and this leaves me at a place that I might end of spending a week or so to replace the glass and get going.
I am not discouraging fellow travellers but cautioning them all so that they know what can happen without basic security and...
