I am a Wyndham rewards member. I have always stayed at the Ramada Inn in Kingman when I’m traveling on I 40 I have stayed at this specific motel for over six years. I’m on the road for my business seven days a week. Unfortunately, this Ramada Inn in Kingman, Arizona has chosen to employ customer service representatives that haven’t been trained in customer service nor are they prepared to WOW the customers as I have always been WOWed at this place before. On March 20 early in the afternoon, I called to make a reservation I needed a room downstairs on the outside of the building where I can drive my vehicle up to the room as I have medical equipment that I use and it is really heavy. The girl that I spoke with didn’t understand Where I wanted to stay. It took her 15 minutes for me to explain the rooms that I usually stay in then it took her another 15 minutes to know how to spell my name after me spelling it over and over and over again then when it came to taking my card number That took a half an hour either her computer didn’t work or she didn’t know how to input the card then she told me it was going to be $141. I was stunned. That’s not even their normal price for a room. I told her that I would book it online and I would call her back to make sure that that room was held for me booking it online. I put a hold on the room on line took me all of10 minutes. I called the girl back and she said that she had the room all reserved for me…. when I got to the motel the girl that didn’t have a clue about anything was gone and another customer service representative that was very nice. Helped me and said I didn’t have a reservation and they had no outside rooms or downstairs rooms. They double check to make sure about my reservation. They said no I had no reservation. I was not happy because now it’s late at night. I’ve driven 15 hours and I had to drive to Boulder city to get a decent room. Come to find out my bank account is showing a debit of $141 charge for The Ramada inn in Kingman billed on the 21….I called the Ramada this morning. Unfortunately the girl at the front desk said I no reservation. I’m sorry we can’t help you. and then she was upset when I called the clerk that I had to deal with on the 20th an idiot so I will be calling Wyndham to wage a formal complaint and I’ll be calling my bank to stop payment on the charge I suggest because of the turnover in employees at this Kingman that you go on down the road to a different Motel …. I WILL NEVER STAY...
Read moreIt was nice to have a room for the night and the room was in good condition for the most part, but the day time staff (Alissa and another front desk employee I didn't catch the name of) were very rude and unaccomodating when the issues were caused by employee error. Alissa wouldn't let me have access to the room mine and children's belongings and my mom's service dog was in because "the room is vacant and empty"... uhm, no it's not our stuff is in there and so is my moms dog. After a few minutes of back and forth i called my mom who made the reservation to come up. Alissa asked for the reservation number and as soon as my mom started speaking she rudely cut her off "NO, NO, THATS NOT RIGHT"... like do you want to see the reservation confirmation? This is what we have. After another few minutes I believe a manager stepped in and was able to figure out that whoever checked us in checked us into rooms that weren't where we were supposed to be.. and didn't bother updating the system or letting any other member of staff know. So today we go to add another night to the reservation and the lady I didn't catch her name starts talking to me about my mom's dogs. I explained I dint know about her dogs, we are meeting her - she made the reservations. I would just like to add another night. The front desk clerk began stating there was no payment for the dogs and we would have to move rooms. I said okay that's fine, explained what happened about being checked into the wrong rooms, can I please just pay for another night. We will move rooms or do whatever I can have my mom come talk to you about the dog situation, idk about that.. she came from Arkansas and she made the reservations. or can we let it come to check out and get another room? She said no, you can go online and book another reservation but you'll still have to move rooms. At this point my mom realized it's taking too long to pay so she comes to see what's going on and again the only concern is the dogs.. "well did you tell the staff you had dogs when you checked in?" Yes we did. "Well did you sign the papers" yes we did. "Well it's not here"... okay we will just check out and go somewhere else. My mom went back upnto apologize and talk to her about the dogs and her attitude had totally changed. Like (this part is a total assumption) she went to try to charge my mom's reservation but couldn't and realized she couldn't charge us bc it wasn't our fault and now she's losing money bc we...
Read moreI want to start by saying that the staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating. The route 66 decor is super fun!! The wall art is awesome!!!
The hotel is older but well maintained, it could benefit from a few upgrades, repairs, and a few niceties.
The Air conditioner was incredibly loud, but it worked well!!
Our room door had to be shoved open and shoved closed to be able to lock properly. We had older towels, and one was discolored from use.
The beds are metal frames on top of a metal base that is incredibly loud when you accidentally kick it. Which happens a lot 🤣🤣🤣, in all the rooms (the walls are thin, you can hear it, haha).
The mattresses were very comfortable, and the linens looked and felt clean.
USB ports are not available, so pack a plug adaptor. No biggie.
There is a "kid" area, but it is literally only a patch of grass with a fence around it, so it's more like a run wild area. Hahaha.
The room was dirty, my feet were black after taking a shower and walking to the bed and back a few times, so I wet a couple towels and mopped the floor, so my kids and I could walk barefoot. The shower & fridge needed a scrub as well.
There is a small coffee maker, a fridge, and a microwave, which was great.
There were not complimentary soaps, so make sure to pack your own. (Most people do, but occasionally, people rely on these items.) Again, you may be able to ask for them, but they were not in our room upon check in. We had brought our own, so it was totally fine.
The pool needed to be cleaned and shocked. It was cloudy and needed a little skimming. We did follow a small rain storm, so it could have been the weather.
They did not have pool towels readily available. You may be able to ask for them, but they are not available at the pool. We did not ask about towels either. We realized too late that they were not at the pool.
The location is close to the highways, gas, food, and grocery stores, which was very convenient.
It also backs up to the train tracks, so be ready to hear the trains all night.
Breakfast was fairly good! Eggs, sausage, baked goods, juice, coffee, and a waffle maker. The breakfast area was clean, and the attendant was friendly and was quick and efficient!
It has so much potential, and the staff was really great. Honestly, they were all super kind...
