To be truthful, I'm not sure why this particular hotel isn't getting more attention. Typically if you're seeking a hotel for under $100 a night on a holiday weekend, you should expect to give up some luxuries in exchange for affordability. But when it comes to this place, you don't have to choose. When you arrive, you will be greeted by a friendly security guard, then directed to nearby parking before you enter the office.
I remember that upon my arrival, and after checking in I was told, "welcome home." After staying here I can understand why they said this, it really did feel like a luxury home for me. I was sad to leave.
I stayed in a two-bedroom condo suite. The bed was king-size, and extremely comfortable, layered with pillows that matched the bed for both comfort level and size.
Connected to the master suite was a large bathroom with a separate shower and tub-plus, twin sinks backed by a huge mirror. There were dimmable lights throughout the condo, and the bathroom was no exception. I was pleased to find dimmable lights above the deep, spa sized soaking tub (no jets). There were plenty of towels available in the bathroom, as well as soap, shampoo, and lotion.
My only complaint is that I was unable to scald my body with an ungodly level of hot water. But seriously, the water temperature could have been a bit higher for my preference. I'm sure the average traveler would have been just fine with the water temperature though, as it did get 'hot'.
The kitchen was stocked well, came filled enough to be able to cook a complete meal, then clean up the mess. We had garbage bags, paper towels, dish cloths, and dish soap, in addition to the standard expected pots, pans, and cutlery, etc. I really enjoy that there was a full size refrigerator, as a half size really just doesn't cut it.
The patio was screened, decently sized, and furnished with two chairs and a table. It was awesome that it had its own backdoor which led to an exterior stairway so we could enter from the front or back of the apartment. Very convenient.
The furniture throughout the condo was clean and comfortable too, the living room area had a large TV. Plenty of plugs and lighting, so you can create a comfortable ambiance. Blackout curtains in every bedroom.
Didn't have my daughter with me, but I know that she would have loved the second bedroom which was furnished with two twin beds, and its own bathroom with a shower tub combination. Again, a very nice room.
The grounds were well-maintained and landscaped nicely, it was quiet at night, and I didn't feel I was in danger during any point in my stay. I love that whoever owns this land decided to leave up the many trees that are around the property, because what is Florida without the oak trees and palms that decorate this Sunshine state? I'm a Florida native, so for me, this was an unexpected, but highly-appreciated touch that made it feel more like home.
There was ample parking (unlike many places) and I didn't have to fight to park near my condo. I didn't get to try out the pools or hot tubs, but they were very well-maintained, and looked inviting.
Be prepared to pay a $200 deposit for your stay and the resort fees for each day. If you don't damage your room you're just going to get it right back. (the deposit)
All-in-all I can't believe that we stayed here for amazing the price that we did, this is an affordable, semi-luxury hotel option for couples, groups, and families alike. I absolutely loved it and I sure hope to come back again.
Thank you for your hospitality! What a...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed at this place recently during a visit to Walt Disney World. Since we spent most of our time doing things away from the resort, I can't really review all of their amenities. There was sufficient parking and while they had a security guard at the entrance, the guard was not present 24-hours a day and there was no security gate so anyone could just roam into the resort when no one was present at the gate. One major negative was that the buildings are all two or three story and there are no elevators. (My wife cannot do stairs and they did not note this fact on their website. When we checked in and found out about this issue, we tried to get a first floor room but none were available. This cause my wife a great deal of discomfort and negatively impacted how much we could do during our stay.) This is an older resort with an attempt to have a polynesian design with the buildings however, the insulation is non-existent and if you have someone staying above your room, you can hear their footsteps like a herd of buffalo are roaming on top of you. (This kept us up and/or woke us up several times in the middle of the night when someone's kids decided to go at it.) They did have recycling cans in the rooms however, there were no trash or recycling bins visible in the parking lot so there was no way to conveniently get rid of trash as it piled up during the week and they do not provide any type of housekeeping service during your stay. They also provided a BluRay/DVD player in the room however, their TVs are not capable of streaming nor can you 'cast' a streamed program to their TVs. They also provide clothes washers & dryers however, each is shared between two units and you have to access them outside the unit by using your room key to open the utility closet where they are located. Finally, the location was pretty good for getting to the Disney parks if you have your own vehicle as you can take U.S. 19 west to World Drive and then just follow the signs to whichever park or location you are looking for. (This allowing you to avoid Interstate I-4, which can be jammed with traffic at all times of day.) All-in-all, we have stayed at much worse resorts however, there were enough issues we experienced that we will likely choose another...
Read moreWe stayed here for several nights as friends were in from out of town going to Disney. The reality is that you are pretty much left alone. While this is an older property, it looks like it was recently refreshed with modern conveniences, which are all functional if not high quality. They have a wonderful hot tub and a good pool and we were right near the pool, which was great. This is the kind of property where they give you six pool towels, plenty of towels and other things for several days of use a full kitchen a full master bedroom suite and then another bedroom with an attached bathroom and shower. While the place was very clean, we did find a few bugs zipping around our suite. Sort of unavoidable this is Florida. Trust me, I've stayed in worse. I also found the use of CFL lighting prevalent throughout the suite. Come on kids it's 2024 time to switch to LED bulbs. This place has terrific water pressure, but they use shower nozzles that will blast your skin off. Also, the water is that typical central Florida slightly swampy smelling water sort of unavoidable for this area also. Just be warned that if that's a problem for you and you stay here be certain to buy or bring some bottled water with you. My travel partner, and I were delighted that we could use the kitchen to make our usual breakfast or late night snacks. If it's your sort of thing, there are plenty of food stores around here where you can shop when you arrive and stock up your kitchen. We like to do that so that works for us. If you're looking for a five star hotel experience, this is not it. One final thing about this property: as a part of Hilton grand vacations, they will market to you. They will text you incessantly and ask you to go to presentations on timeshares if you are not a part of Hilton grand vacation club. If that sort of thing bothers you don't stay here. I do find it mildly irritating but that's how it goes. Also, if you are a Disney person this place is ideal. It is a short drive to any Disney park or attraction. Literally 10 minutes and you are at the front gates of Disney. Marvelous! I have to say we were very happy with our stay and that we may return again someday depending on pricing...
