Here is what I liked...The area was convenient as it was located by two highway entrances. There was a lot of parking available. It was pet friendly, and if you're on a budget, it is a semi-clean place to stay for the night. It also is pretty secure despite it being in a nice neighborhood. It's locked all parts of the day where you either need to be buzzed in or use a key card to get in. They have a convenience mart available to people staying there, and check-in was super easy and fast. I was literally checked in within 5 minutes and the check out was even less so. The staff was very friendly and nice. Also, rooms have a charging hub for USB and regular electric connections. Here is what I wasn't a fan of...It looks like they put in a lot of renovations into the first floor, but the whole building didn't fit my usual La Quinta experience. The elevator button even shows an arrow pointing horizontally up and slightly to the left, which was kind of funny. The elevator had this weird clicking/popping noise when it approached a floor and would take a hot minute to open the doors. The rooms had a bad, musty smell. We thought opening windows would make it better and it did a little, but it was still not good. We had to keep our windows open to try to air out the room. My friend didn't find any bed bugs, but we still didn't feel like we were on the most clean of properties. Like I said - not on par with most of my La Quinta experiences, but we didn't have a do not disturb sign for our room and found out they don't clean the room during your stay unless you request. There were random things stuck to our popcorn ceiling like a piece of plastic wrap. The electric sockets don't always work - like our charging hubs as an example sparked when I plugged in my phone charger, and then it did not charge my phone very fast. The sockets don't hold plugs, it kinda hangs loosely from the sockets to where they fall out or don't charge if you don't have something to prop them up with. When we got in our room, the toilet still had pop particles in there (you know when you get most of the poo but you have to double-flush to get the bowl fully cleaned...yeah, that was the state it was left in when we got in. Also, beware of the one ply toilet paper. The towels were okay - not soft and a bit abrasive to dry with, but what I had the most issue with was the fact there was a long black hair in my towels. I have short dark brown hair, so I knew it wasn't mine but it was a bit gross. And also, one of our mattresses had a mattress protector and the other didn't. They do offer a gym but with how our rooms was, not sure how much I trust using the facilities or having the complimentary breakfast. Overall, I would say it's a cheap value place to stay and go to Disney or Knott's Berry Farm, but if you are looking to spend a lot of time in your room to relax, I would say spend the extra $100 or $200 to stay at a...
Read moreFound this hotel by chance in December (2023), when needing a place to stay for one night. The location and breakfast drew us to book here, not to forget parking. The pleasant stay and price brought us back for the summer. This time the stay was longer (4 nights).
Let's start with the pros. This stay we were a late check in. When I phoned about our late arrival, the front desk was very nice and even wished us safe travels. Check in at mid-night was quick and easy, they even gave us extra towels and a comforter. Everyone from the front desk, to the breakfast staff, and housekeeping are very pleasant and accomdating. The hotel is always locked, which gives us the extra sense of security. Plenty of parking, and it is free. Let's not forget breakfast - make your own waffles, hard boil eggs, bagels, toast, creal, juice, coffee, tea, fruit...it makes our trip so easy and gives our day a great start, and it is served for three hours! Be forewarned, It can get busy.
There is a laundry (2 washers and a dryer)! What a relief, especially after a long day at the beach or to take advantage of before heading back home. Clean clothes and all that has to be done when getting home is putting it away.
The rooms are spacious, with plenty of amenities. Iron, refrigerator, hair dryer, cold AC, and of course the full size Dove body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. It is great to have, because there are times when these items may be left behind. Having the sink, and an extra counter outside the bath makes it easy to get ready. Convenient when there are four people getting ready.
Now the cons. Double beds make for tight sleeping, and little room to wiggle. The room has pleanty of room for queens. The matresses aren't bad - the first time we stayed there, they were plenty comfortable. This time the matresses were a bit lumpy. One of them had a big dip in the middle of it, yet the kids weren't too phased by it.
The bath area needs more ventilation. It gets way too steamy and the fan in there barely moves the air around. The steam creates water build up on the shower rod, then leaks onto the floor. You can see on the ceiling how the steam has caused the fire sprinklers to rust, and in some areas there are signs of early mold build up. If not treating properly, this could become a health hazzard.
Overall, our stay was pleasant. It has become our go to place. The rate is most afforable, the proximity to the freeway, a quick 8 minute drive or so to Knott's Berry Farm, probably a 20 minute drive to Disneyland, 30 minute drive to Seal Beac, and (with good traffic) 45 minutes to an hour to Universal Studios. Parking and food. It is not hard to pass up.
The kids really enjoy it, and they love the Panda Inn (chinese restaurant within walking distance). The Panda Inn is delicious. It's our got to for a nice dinner. There are a few other places to eat near by as well.

Read moreDon't let this brand name chain fool you if you stayed at better La Quinta Inns in the past. Just checked in at $129 + tax rate. Wow just wow.....this place is so dated, soooo dirty, and things falling apart. The management of La Quinta Inn parent office need to address this concern immedaitely. If I could get a refund and go across to Motel 6 I would do in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, the room has been prepaid and no refund booking policy. So, I am stuck with an overcharge roach motel like room. I should have heeded to past guests review about this place. Here are some pictures that will show you what a scrappy place this is. Pubic hairs around toilet, dirty door handles & light switches, mold & mildew, dead bugs, cracked tub with hairs, hairs all over the floor. It is disgusting and I've never saw this uncleanliness even at bargain motels. Just disgusting and can't believe this establishment would charge $100+ for such dirty and outdated rooms.
UPDATE (5 star for hotel handling my issue very professionally)
I let the management (Nicholas) know the condition of my room after check-in. He was very accommodating and was upset concerns with my room. He provided me another room adjacent to the room I checked in. I went to the room to find similar condition. Hairs all over the floor. I returned the key to the new room and told Nicholas of this same concern. I told him that it is just one night and I will just suck it up. However, told him that management must address this concern to the housekeeping. He apologized and told me to get a full refund so I can book another hotel. I told him that it was okay as long as knew what condition his rooms were in. He insisted and told me to contact my reservation company for refund. My booking rep called Nicholas to confirm cancellation and full refund acknowledgement. Nicholas confirmed over the phone and handed me a copy of cancellation notice. He again apologized about the inconvenience I went through. Non taken and I booked to a nearby Holiday Inn. Once more, I can't say for the entire hotel but the two rooms I got was disgusting and the description I pointed out on earlier review is honest. Far as management goes, I give them credit for their shortfall acknowledgment and reconciling this issue by cancelling my reservation quickly. Hoping management really look into this serious issue concerning housekeeping for quick remedy and possible future stay with this...
