Old habits die hard. New habits live forever!
Free charburger or $3.65 credit with a $2 donation to No Kid Hungry
The Habit Burger Grill, located at the former location of National Sports Bar, serves up quality burgers, sandwiches, sides & shakes for the hungry masses. Having the opportunity to donate to a worthy cause & try a new food spot, the time was right for me to try The Habit for myself.
Checking out the condiments, I noticed the pepper bar. Great to spice things up!
Besides the usual ketchup & mustard, malt vinegar, Worcestershire sauce & Cholula hot sauce are on hand to use or not.
I was allowed to sample the strawberry limeade and it was quite refreshing. I could taste the freshness, without a hint of artificial tasting ingredients.
Once orders are placed, customers are given a pager to let them know when their food is ready.
Onion rings- Perfectly cooked, jumbo-sized rings of onion. The coating was crispy, without the slightest sogginess. Dipped in ranch & Cholula, the onion rings were a great side.
Albacore tuna filet sandwich (lettuce-wrapped w/ raw onion added)- Line caught, sushi-grade tuna filet with teriyaki glaze, tomatoes, shredded lettuce & tartar sauce, default doneness being medium. A delicious & nutritious sandwich, the large tuna filet had a firm texture, which held up as I bit down into my messy lettuce-wrapped meal. The tomato slices were plump & the raw onions had that textured crunch I adore. I spiced things up with Cholula & a splash of malt vinegar. I'll probably ask for medium-rare to rare next time, as that's usually how I prefer fish.
Service was good. I did ask for limes to be brought out, which I was told they were cutting them up at the moment. Unfortunately, after finishing my meal, still no limes to spritz into my water. Not a deal breaker, but really, how long would it take just to cut up a few, even if just for me?
The Habit has surprisingly less seating than I thought it would. Booths & a communal high table for customers dining in, and a few tables al fresco. 2 registers to keep the lines moving.
Parking is in an insanely busy private lot, shared by Yogurtland, Jersey Mike's, Pizza Studio, Chipotle & Starbucks. It's best to go during off hours to save yourself a headache or two.
The Habit Burger Grill is a great place for a casual meal of burgers, sandwiches & what not. The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere & I quite enjoyed my albacore filet sandwich & onion rings. I'll make sure to try their "bread & butter", the charburger, and the tempura green beans. And, if I'm feeling a little naughty, one of their malt shakes. Just don't tell anyone, okay?
Highly...
Read moreI love In N Out Burger way better! They do their burgers right and with amazing flavor!
I ordered the following below:
SANTA BARBARA CHAR (Burger) Beautiful presentation! The Burger was pretty much a flavorless and over salted and with a over black peppery taste. It had cheese, but the cheese tasted like a melted clump of fatty low end quality cheese. There was no flavor burst from the meat, cheese, and even the guacamole and the tomato added anything to compliment the burger. The toasted Sour Dough bread was the only thing that I enjoyed. They OVERSALTED THE BURGER!!!!!!!!
FRENCH FRIES Presentation was nice. It basically was petty much fried solid potato strips and over also way salted! They were one of the worst fries I've ever tasted.
Onion Rings They needed to be fried more to a crisp. The breading was a little bit uncooked and had a doughy flavor.
Recommendation Corporate & Management should train their employees to not over salt the food and try to experiment more with creating a more...
Read moreNormally this location exceeds my expectation from food to service. Today that changed. My boyfriend and I ordered online and headed straight to the restaurant. There was 30 sec left on the online order timer so I sat down while my boyfriend went to get condiments. Shortly after, I saw a text saying it was done and proceeded to the counter. At first the lady was friendly until she realized that our order was not at the counter. After looking at the computer she informed me that ours was next. I explained and showed her that I received a text stating it was ready. Instead of being polite, she gave attitude and told me “ok well yours is next we need to bag it still” Had she acknowledged that there was an error and it was meant for the person in front of me, I would’ve understood but the fact she didn’t bother saying that and insisted that it wasn’t ready when I was informed that it was, got me a little bothered. That is why I’m giving this rating two stars. So much for “the customer is...
