Title: Disappointing Experience at the Holiday Inn in Lake Elsinore, California
Introduction: I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at the Holiday Inn in Lake Elsinore, California. Although it took me a while to write this review, I feel it is important to share my experience, as the hotel fell short in several aspects. From encountering racism to uncleanliness and unexpected wildlife, my stay was far from satisfactory.
Racist and Inhospitable Environment: One of the most disheartening aspects of my stay was the presence of racism at this hotel. I encountered several instances where I felt unwelcome and discriminated against. It is truly disappointing to witness such behavior in this day and age, and it greatly affected my overall perception of the hotel.
Cleanliness Issues and Unexpected Wildlife: Upon entering my room, I immediately noticed the uncleanliness. Dust was visibly flying in the air, indicating a lack of proper cleaning. Additionally, I discovered that a family of raccoons resides in the hotel's trashcan at the back, which was not disclosed beforehand. This poses a health hazard, especially for individuals with allergies. It is important for the hotel to address and rectify such issues promptly to ensure the well-being of its guests.
Lackluster Amenities and Breakfast: The hotel's amenities and breakfast left much to be desired. The breakfast options were limited and everything seemed to be microwavable, which was a disappointment. It is disheartening to pay for a hotel stay with subpar amenities and unsatisfying meals.
Overall Dissatisfaction: I stayed at this hotel with my family of four, and we had high expectations for a pleasant and comfortable stay. However, our expectations were not met, and we left the hotel feeling disappointed. My husband and I strongly advise others to avoid this particular location in Lake Elsinore.
Conclusion: In conclusion, my experience at the Holiday Inn in Lake Elsinore, California, was marred by racism, cleanliness issues, unexpected wildlife, and lackluster amenities. I urge potential guests to consider alternative options in the area and avoid this specific hotel. It is my hope that the management of this Holiday Inn takes the necessary steps to address these concerns and provide a better experience for...
Read moreWe just arrived tonight for the week. Our room is double queen. Has small microwave, small refrigerator, iron, ironing board, plenty of space to sit. The bathroom has to be one of the best we have seen in a hotel in quite awhile. Impressive! Love the decor in the bath and the fact that you included soaps shampoos etc in the shower in a pump type containers like home. I carry mine due to specialized products but many forget or nowadays with baggage restrictions and weight just use whatever. This is a added touch of class. Plus cleanliness. This bathroom and bedroom are beyond cleaned. Wonderful housekeeping. Pride is showing! Only other place I have seen similar was a resort or high end casino hotel. Coffee with Keurig type coffee setup and couple decafs, couple regular, couple teas, includes we were told a pretty decent breakfast tomorrow from 6:30-9am that has pancakes, omlets, scrambled eggs toast, and several other things including more coffee and Juice. Back to our rooms this stay is more family this time than vacation as we had a close family member pass away. The customer service from each of the Representatives of this Lake Elsinore Holiday innI have spoken to have been outstanding. I first spoke to Jeffrey and recently to Andrew and this evening we we're checked in by Micheal. We understand Jeffrey has switched locations whether temporary or permanent he was wonderful in fulfilling my needs in figuring out what all we needed. I was looking for room for my husband and myself and our daughter and her husband with our grandchildren will be flying in to join us all here. So I told her I would work on hotel since she was working on her other travel needs. However, all three gentleman have bent over backwards to be sure we are happy with our rooms and that that our room met our expectations. I am so glad I took the time to call direct instead of using the internet. Plus it was their kindness and generosity that will make me try this way more often. Looking forward to a wonderful night's rest after long 24 hours on the highway and a nice breakfast. Thank you Jeffrey, Andrew and Michael and Holiday inn. We will definitely stay here again. We are here till Tuesday check out. Can't...
Read moreOverall, we were pleased with this hotel. We did have a few issues on several nights of our stay. Our hotel room key did not work when we returned to our room on two nights of our stay. This proved to be an inconvenience as we were carrying a number of items back to the room. One of us had to stay in the hallway with our things while the other walked back to the front desk. We also did not receive housekeeping services on one day of our stay. We returned to our room to find the bed unmade and our wet towels still on the floor. The clerk was apologetic and retrieved towels from a vacant room.
Breakfast fare was quite good. There was a large selection of hot and cold items available. The breakfast area is quite large and overcrowding did not seem to be an issue. The lady in charge of breakfast was working diligently to keep everything stocked.
The staff was very friendly in all of our encounters both at the front desk and in the breakfast area.
We did have an issue with a child running in the room overhead. However, I realize that this is not the fault of the hotel. I do wish we had changed rooms.
The bathrooms are really nicely done. Our room had a large jacuzzi tub and was nicely decorated. The lights in the bathroom are very low wattage (25 watts) so that made it difficult to apply makeup or shave. The exhaust fans do not seem to work very well and we had to prop the bathroom door open to let out the steam. Which brings me to another issue. The bathroom doors are self-closing. It's a minor annoyance, but we had to prop the door open with a shoe.
Also, there is a motion sensor in the entryway. That means that every time you get up to use the restroom, the entry light comes on, waking the other person in the room. We solved that problem by propping the bathroom door open, thus blocking the motion sensor.
I would still recommend this hotel. But, ask for a top floor room to avoid the noise of...
