I had checked in one-day early via the Marriott app and messaged the hotel about potential upgrade to one of our rooms and requesting the two rooms be adjacent to each other. The reply came and said it'll be looked into in the morning. Then there was nothing. The next day my family and I were on the road driving. By early afternoon, having not heard anything back, which is an anomaly in itself, I messaged the hotel again at a rest stop. We then drove straight to the hotel. Sure enough, as I approached the front desk, lady there (no name here to protect her) told me she had just saw my earlier message and by then, most rooms are already assigned, of course no upgrade availability by then, either. Fine, I understand upgrades are based on availability. However, we came to discover that one side of the hotel faces the freeway, so we wanted to make sure none of our rooms face the freeway. Now our choices became even more limited. Rooms are not adjacent to each other. In fact they are far apart. One of the rooms has a malfunctioned lamp, I was warned. At this time, having driven more than 7 hours, we were all very tired and just wanted to rest. I asked the lady checking us in if she thought someone had dropped the ball after I sent the first message the day before, she concurred and apologized repeatedly. I said she was not to blame. I requested that the hotel GM contact me the next morning. I believe in the process lady checking us in might have forgotten to give me my Platinum bonus gift points. To this day, those points have not posted to my account. Anyway, the next morning, hotel GM Ms. Thompson called. She started off immediately by lecturing me that upgrades are based on availability only. I tried to interrupt her to tell her that I wanted to know if someone had dropped the ball in communications but she just went on with her lecturing. I wished to terminate the call because we have other things to tend to. She was not happy about that and really wanted to continue lecturing me in a condescending manner. I cannot believe she is the GM. She apparently does not know and did not wish to know what the issue was. She jumps to conclusion so there is no way for her to learn the root cause of any guest displeasure. Her attitude tells you that she does not care about guests but what she thinks is right. This hotel is also extremely noisy at night even on the non-freeway side. AC in the room does not help, either. Simply...
Read moreThe hotel is decent. No complaints, but I have provided some suggestions for your convenience. Rooms: Bathroom - the good: Lots of space, multiple hooks for towels, and shower water on/off handle is conveniently located not in blasting range of the water from the shower head. Suggestions: get quieter hair dryers, get soft close lids for toilets, and provide lotion (we are in a desert). Main - the good: spacious and has a lot of desk/work space. Beds were fine but still have those easily smooshed feather pillows. Suggestion: it not being directly under the TV and put TV on mount that swivels. Parking - Free. Love it! Breakfast - the good: had the basics. It was fine. Oatmeal was on point. Suggestions: flavored creamer for the coffee and sparling water. Gym - it was fine. 3 treadmills, ellipticals, 2 benches, free weights. Suggestion: add sanitizing wipes. Hand sanitizer is not enough to wipe sweat off these things. Add cable machine. Staff - super nice and helpful. WiFi - actually one of the better connections I have had on my many travels the past 14 months. I stayed connected and wasn't asked every 2 minutes to reconnect. Laundry - there was only 1 washer and 1 dryer in the laundry area I used in the hotel, but I am not sure if there was another one. It is $4.00 to do a load of laundry ($2.00 wash and $2.00 dry). Location - really good. Target within 5 minutes, right next to highway, and plenty of food/shopping.
The Hotel is a newer, cheaply built structure that lacks sound proofing and good quality materials. The front door to the hotel blew in during a windy day. The Handicap room on the first floor is only suitable for the deaf. It is next to a fire / sprinkler room that makes a loud turbine whine 24/7. I had to move rooms the next day as there was no way to sleep through it. All doors make a loud striking sound when closing inside and out. You will hear the neighbors doors shut down the hall every time a door closes. Not all the Curtains close properly, so that Vegas sunlight will be your alarm clock. Rooms are clean, except they all have wall to wall carpet..Id advise against going barefoot. The Marriott website(s) have issues with properly completing and communicating reservations with the Hotel. Online promotion discount offerings were not applied. Beware, the hotel will try to charge you an upgrade if the room you confirmed is not available when you arrive. Breakfast staff is friendly and efficient. Food itself is OK, with choices of Oatmeal, cereal, eggs, sausage, muffins, fruit , yogurt and juices. and most of the staff is very nice and helpful. There are two front desk ladies ( one in the afternoon and the other at night that are less helpful). I won't name names, but they have their own reputations. There is a small gym to work off your breakfast, albeit, it is missing the most commonly used dumb bell weights. Parking is uncovered. There are restaurants within very short walking distance...
