The Lodge Tenaya — Restaurant in Las Vegas

This bar and grill is obviously on the decline. My husband and I decided to play, have a few drinks, and check out the menu. Their happy hour leaves much to be desired as it is extremely limited. It consists of $5 pints and $5 off their pizza, that’s the totality. The bartender who served us initially must have been critically undertrained because she didn’t know if they had a happy hour menu, what types of whiskey they carried, and forgot our drink order and had to come back and ask again. We decided to pass on the food since the costs were absurd for simple appetizers that you can find for half the price at any other local bar. We had 2 drinks each while we played keno and blackjack. We tipped and started to leave. The second bartender ran us down and explained that we had a bill of $20. It must have been extremely embarrassing for her to ask for such a menial amount even after we played and tipped, all while experiencing mediocre service. My husband commented that this is why the location is dead, and we won’t be returning. She began to explain that all other local bars do this and our play wasn’t sufficient enough for the drinks we consumed in the 45 minutes we were there. This statement was inherently false since we were each born and raised in this town and have frequented many local bars, dives, downtown, and the strip. Leadership at this location is obviously to blame for their lack of staff training, zero local appeal, no specials to attract weekday traffic, and penny pinching the alcohol they purchase at wholesale and charge at inflated prices. Finally a real bar with real people. I've been here for two weeks and most bars in the area just seem like a gimmick, cold and struggling. This lodge is exactly what it sounds like, warm and welcoming in the outskirts for the weary. The beautiful wooden construction of the exterior is superceded by the gorgeous woodwork of the interior layout which encompass this establishment from corner to corner. With two story high open ceilings, private sectioned areas, pool tables and the breathtaking circle bar complete with gaming and wide screens, you really feel you've stumbled upon a lap of luxury. Although I didn't get the chance to sample the offerings from the kitchen, the menu looks hearty and diverse. Should be something for everyone here with a cocktail list and happy hour options as well as daily specials like prime rib which I can't wait to come back for. The real draw was the vibe from the locals and bartenders at the bar. The highly attentive and engaging bartenders and staff make you feel at home and you get a real sense of neighborly love.

I don't know why but I've been here for over a year now and certain people end up charging me and my friend two hundred dollars between the two of us for four rounds of beers and 3 hours of pool while they let people with guns strapped to their hips in plain sight come in AND serve them alcohol all night long and they don't pay anything near what we pay but I guess it's because they carry guns and drink all night long so watch yourself coming to this location if they don't like you or you don't open carry a pistol on your belt, or gamble all night long it seems like they will take advantage of you keep your receipts from this place because it gets shady from time to time. Don't get me wrong, the people and atmosphere is good, but when one person charges me DOUBLE what I paid not a few days ago AND let's people in carrying GUNS ON THEIR HIP AND SERVING THEM ALCOHOL?!?!?
