I'd initially had notes in a review on Expedia, but I didn't get a chance for revision before it was apparently submitted during an app glitch. I'd placed a request to have it removed though, and I'm opting to write a bit here instead.
I'll start by saying that the front desk attendant was amazing! She had a cool personality, and kept up with my dad's corny humor without batting an eye. She also helped with any issues we had. Other workers put up with random phone calls and questions from my family, and group cannonballs and diving in No Diving zones. I'm just thankful that nobody got hurt or in trouble; aside from scolding.
Breakfasts were unique in the aspect of different options being put out every day. Instead of classic waffle irons, they had a self-cooking pancake machine. Mango water and a Nescafé machine were other things my family liked. Almond milk being available was also nice; I'm lactose intolerant, and my younger brother is teetering into becoming vegetarian. Greek yogurt, sausage gravy, and cheese omelettes were equally interesting, too, even if I couldn't partake.
Rooms were comfy, but not exactly soundproof, and beds were firm (I like firm). Even if my mother and I saw them as looking like Fulls instead of Queens, they served their purposes well. Though the shower being a little on the small side as well was surprising; I still think my larger friends would have a hard time fitting, so I just need to be careful with Best Westerns in that regard when it comes to travelling with buds. Pool and hot tub were nice, though the water seemed a tad murky and the sides were rough as a grindstone, and at one point the kids thought there was a large, drowned spider at the bottom of the former... I couldn't even dip a toe in after that. Spiders terrify me!
Considering price and all amenities, and nice restaurants within walking distance, it wasn't bad. The biggest flaw here was purely weather-oriented, in my opinion: To future visitors, be very careful on the property's surroundings during rain, or up to two days afterward. Same goes for surrounding businesses; the ground everywhere becomes muddy and slippery. Our vehicles were so close to the door, so sidewalks were avoided by everyone, and we had many falls. I guess they charged $25 as a fee for muddy towels as a result? Hopefully lessons were learned by...
Read moreWe rented 2 rooms for guest for our daughters wedding for guest. Small gathering after the wedding to visit family rarely seen and was told buy desk staff ( Ginger Smith) we we're to loud and forcefully told we would be removed if we didn't quiet down. As Ginger lurked at the top of the stair way for some time ( call it stalking, call it what you will) we found a bed bug in the room and turned it over to her..... in the top of the stair well... after our 20+ yr old children came up from having a smoke, we were told we were being removed because our children were running around and making noise. She then called the police to have us removed.....who upon arrival waited in the hall outside our room for a few minutes before knocking and telling us to leave and to their own words.... don't know why. Remember this was guest for our daughters wedding! So my suggestion and reference for this place.... if you are looking for a retirement home place to stay, it's great! For anyone else who may like to have a few drinks and laughs, stay somewhere....anywhere, just not here! To the above mention staff member... I hope you sit on a stack of staples. When it comes to customer service, a wood chipper is more friendly. I've traveled the world and stayed in crappier places than this with better and friendlier service. To management..... hope you find better people to represent your business, because Ginger Smith has the type of personality to be a bathroom attendant at a second rate strip club on "B"...
