I've had to stay here several times because of the location and it got worse every time. I've never experienced a staff and management this rude. I'm handicap with a placard so I asked in advance for a room near that spot. They gave me a room that was kind of close, but there was only one HC spot and it was filled with a white SUV. No biggy, someone else needed it. I was cool with that. Only days later the handicap rooms were empty but that car was still there and I realized it didn't have a placard. I mentioned to the front desk when I was asked to bring my DL again. I asked if she realized that the car didnt have a placard. She said "Don't worry about it". I wasn't going to make a big deal about it. But I mentioned with out a placard they could get a ticket. Then she snapped at me saying I "didn't need to worry about it. Wasn't my concern". She went on to say that "I didn't look disabled, so I didn't need it! I could just walk". I was to shocked to respond. I have 2 ruptured disks so walking does cause me pain. I have a placard. Later I heard the car start up. Looked out and saw it was the managers car! They are not handicapped. She just used the spot because it was right outside the office door! The room I had was filthy. I was given one of the same 2 rooms each time I went (total of 3 weeks 4 stays). I had bare feet for like a minute and the bottoms of my feet were black! The floors hadn't been swept much less mopped in some time. The furniture was broken & The a/c Kept cutting out and making noise then I smelled plastic burning. They did send someone to fix it but he looked at it said it was fine. But I looked again, turned out the plug coming from the unit, into the outlet was broken. It had burn marks on it and it was obvious that they had just been glued back together. There was a lot of noise at night and I watched a few crazy fights break out. The windrow coverings were wooden slats but they never shut properly you could still see in. The vending machines showed hot food in one but there wasn't any. They charged $4.50 for a single can of soda but it just took your money never gave up a can. The desk said the machines didn't belong to the hotel so she didn't have to give me my money back. Yet during my stay I saw hotel staff filling one the the removed all three and put them in the back storage area. Not to mention it advertised a continental breakfast they don't even serve coffee. I had an early morning meeting the 2nd morning and got undressed to take a shower only to realize there were no towels. So I called the 24/7 (according to them) desk and asked if they could bring towels. He told me it was "too early to take a shower" and "why couldn't I wait till morning?" I told him I couldn't wait. He said hard bring them in a minute. 30 min later I still had no towels. I could literally see him in the office from my window. Has just sitting there. I called again and he said he was busy. I said he didn't look busy then hr realized I could see him. 15 min later he left them on the ground outside my door. After 3 days I decided to sleep in. At 8 am They ignored my so not disturb and tried to come in. When I unlocked the door the house keeper insisted she wanted to clean my room right then. I told her I was sleeping and I didn't want service right then, but thank you. She scolded me saying I better not leave her a mess! Yes, I always tip anyway. I mostly stayed in my room that first few days then they started some construction on the room above and above and 1 over from my room. They started at 7 am and were still running a saw at 10 pm. I called once to see how late they would be and she acted like I was crazy for asking. She assured me they would stop. They did not. I was seriously still trying to be cool. I didn't even have an attitude yet at all. But...Messy rooms, broken furniture even no towels I could deal with but all that and a rude staff as well, this...
Read moreIf I could give this location zero or negative stars I would. I booked a room at this location in January. Wanted to make sure I got a decent rate for the Comic-Con weekend. Booked the room online and Choice Hotels gives you the option to pay now or pay at the time of arrival. I chose to pay when I arrived. I had fraud on my debit card sometime after that and had it cancelled and reissued. Calling this hotel to update my payment information months ago was not at the top of my mind. Besides, I was supposed to pay onsite when I arrived. I took the day off of work to make sure that I would arrive at the hotel at or before Check-in (2pm). I arrived at 1:50pm. When I attempted to check in, I was told by the Manager (Key Patel) that my room was cancelled. I had just driven 200 miles to get there and at no time did I receive a call or email that my reservation was cancelled. I questioned him and he stated that he ran my card that I booked with that morning and once it declined, he sold my room out from under me. He stated that he is not required to call me when there was an issue with my card. If he had, I would have been able to provide the correct information. He didnt want that. He was able to charge someone that day $180 per night versus the $108 I was guaranteed. He sold all of the rooms before check-in and told me there was nothing I could do. Of course I’m not out any money for the room, but I am out the mileage and gas for my wasted trip. I then spent the next 45 minutes with Choice Hotels Customer Service just to be told that they were siding with the hotel on this and would not accommodate my guaranteed rate at any other location. My only option was to spend more money and be further away from the event I was supposed to attend.Speaking of that guarantee, that’s B.S. It even states on the confirmation email:
Guarantee Policy Your room will be held until 7:00 AM the morning following your scheduled arrival date. If you do not arrive and do not cancel your reservation by the cancellation deadline, your credit card will be charged 1 night's stay plus tax.
I will never use Choice Hotels or any of their...
Read moreIt started off like any night i closed the grill at wendys . I smelled of hot fryer grease and my boyfriend and I decided to be spontaneous and leave the kids with my brother and be young and go to a hotel and spend some quality time together . We checked into the rodeway inn hotel at lemon grove and upon arrival the receptionist was sleep . I thought it was hilarious i video taped him little did i know i should have paid attention to that being a sign to run for the hills. After finally getting him to wake up he charged us for the room and gave us the wrong change after going back and having to wake him up he corrected the error and seen he was wrong . Lets get to the room . It was standard like we booked for but the bathroom door didnt close almost the way the room smelled stuffy so we turned the air on . I took a shower and seen a baby roach on the ceiling which i also have a photo of . I was too tired to even argue . So i got out the shower and got dressed for bed . Watched tv for a little while i got up to get under the covers and seen holes on the top on cover like cigarette burns . By this time i was furious . Its completely ridiculous. The roach the sleepy receptionists the broken vending machine and now holes in my bed . The rate was not worth the stay . Even if it was cheaper i would not stay here again . I feel disrespected and not valued as...
