Have mixed feelings about this stay. The hotel and room was clean & nice. Booked it online through an app which got us a great price 74% off. But nothing told us about the $250 security deposit we had to give when we got there. I completely understand because of how destructive and nasty people can be to where you would need to have that security. But that was ridiculous. The cable hardly worked. It kept messing up all night. Got woke up 6 times because whomever was above us kept playing in the rolling chair and then stomping. I don't like to be a complainer ( 1st time even leaving a review like this) so at midnight when I just couldn't take anymore of the noise I had to go to the front desk to complain so we could get some rest. Even the TV couldn't drown out the noise. I guess it upset the people that I complained about cause it wasn't till 1am that they decided to finally stop & they got even louder after the complaint. No extra pillows was available and there wasn't enough on the bed to start with. So both mine& my husbands neck was hurting this morning. Thank goodness the bed was very comfortable and the pillows that we did have was also comfortable or or rest would could have been alot worse. No hot water. Had to take a cold shower. Fridge did not keep drinks cold. I will say the man who was at the front desk when I complained about the noise was extremely nice. Got woke up an hour b4 our alarm by house keeping. Then they came another hour after that when I already told them we wasnt checking out till 11am bugging us wanting to know again when we was leaving. Needless to say we checked out at 10am because we was so annoyed by everything. Would have liked to have had that hour to relax a little more before we had 6 hours to drive. The breakfast was okay. Pretty standard & got to have a delicious donut & apple juice. Which I can say was the only happy thing about my...
Read moreUpdate: The manager contacted me and seemed to be assisting with the necessary refunds, however, he dropped communication after several emails and did not help me get everything resolved. I tried to be very patient and sent several follow-ups, but he ghosted me regardless. I opened a case with the Better Business Bureau and unsurprisingly, they did not receive a response back either. Ultimately I had to report the charges on my credit card. Avoid this establishment at ALL costs.
I had originally booked an Airbnb for my stay in Lexington, but ended up without accommodations after finding mold at the Airbnb. I booked two nights at the Microtel and was disappointed to find mold in the bathroom as well as gross, dirty walls throughout. The toilet also ran every 10 minutes or so. They were fully booked so the front desk could not offer me a different room. The other hotels in the area within my budget were also fully booked due to Keeneland being active and prices everywhere were VERY inflated as a result, so I decided to stay one night and the front desk agreed to refund me for the second night. I checked out the following morning.
It was clear that the front desk staff were overworked and underpaid. They were kind and tried to be professional in the awful working conditions they were provided, and this review is not aimed at them. I am disgusted by the management company, however, that is clearly not investing money into properly maintaining their property and taking care of their employees. On top of the less-than-ideal room, I am still trying to get several extra charges that popped up on my credit card removed. I will update my review if and when I receive a refund for the unauthorized charges. It has been very difficult to get assistance, and I will think twice before booking any stays at a Wyndham property...
Read moreChecked in, decided to try it out despite the parking lot being filled with fire trucks and ambulances when we arrived, and the lobby filled with paramedics. Not the hotel’s fault. Came back to check in, and the place smelled strongly of cannabis. No big deal. Upon entering and looking down the hallway immediately after entering, it looked like the furniture from several rooms had been destroyed and stored in the hallway. Again, gave this place the benefit of a doubt and figured they probably weren’t renting out the rooms in that hallway due to renovations. Upon turning the corner and walking up the stairs, someone had dumped a fair amount of trash down the stairs, including food and other assorted garbage. The room had blood on the mirror, hair in the towels, and a half empty beer can in the cabinet. Still decided to try to “tough it out.” After an hour of reading awful reviews (which I should have done before hand) involving similar experiences and worse, and starting to feel a little uncomfortable, a man stumbled around in the hallway for ten minutes loudly mumbling gibberish, slamming into walls and doors and finally going away, we reserved rooms across the street at the holiday inn express & suites and left immediately. Unless you are completely out of other options, go nowhere near this place. Trust me. I’m not a picky guy. This is the first internet review I’ve ever written on anything, and this is the first hotel I’ve ever up and left. And I’ve stayed in quite a few “iffy” hotels. Someone needs to shut this place down. I’m not sure how it passed any kind of inspection. Assuming such a...
