Really enjoyed being able to create my own pizza by choosing items from the buffet style layout. $8.00 for an 11" pizza was reasonable considering you could choose unlimited toppings. You start with a plate of pizza dough to which a friendly employee behind the counter adds your choice of sauce and cheese. Then you choose from a vast array of meat and vegetable toppings which are added to the pizza as you continue down the line. Finish it off with more cheese or herbs and you have your very own custom made pizza. I chose a traditional marinara and mozzarella as the base, added beef, pepperoni, mild sausage, ricotta, fresh tomato, onion, mushrooms and black olives. I also asked for broccoli on one small part just so I could see if broccoli is good on pizza! The best part was being able to dictate exactly how much or little of each topping I wanted. They then place it in a brick oven and it comes out delicious. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because the cheese bread we ordered didn't arrive until we were nearly done with our pizza, but it was...
Read moreI would give Mod Pizza a constellation if I could! Talking with the regional manager 'Nick" explained to me that the concept came from it's creator in Seattle, Scott Stevenson, who thought pizza was unhealthy and wanted something better for his kids. Well thank you Scott, Mod pizza is essentially build your pizza, as in Subway. However, their products contain NO MSG, artificial flavoring etc. Everything is FRESH, and all produce they use comes locally. Everything is natural. Cheese comes Wisconsin, they have a company makes their dough, which I think is gluten free. They won't even offer banana peppers, because they use yellow dye,
I couldn't begin to list all the ingredients they offer. I think you'll be blown away when you see all the cheeses , toppings, meats, etc. As another reviews posted ... AMAZING, and its true.
The other big bonus is that is NOT expensive, like some boutique pizza. I get the mini-pizza for $4.77 and I can get as much or as many toppings as I...
Read moreFood is great, although they try to be very skimpy on toppings...but they will add more if you ask. I have been there several times with my family for dinner. I work till 7 pm, get home at 7:45ish... So we normally have a later dinner. We went Tuesday night once more. We arrived at about 9:10 to find all of the chairs inside put up and the floors being swept. (To the point I thought they were closed.. i quickly checked the hours and saw it said 10pm) When we ordered half the toppings had been pulled out already and it was very hurried feeling...I was left with the impression that we were inconveniencing them by being there. The place was virtually shut down by 9:35.
Now I may just be old.. but back when I worked a food service job, if you closed at 10pm then you WORKED till 10pm. Once the doors were locked you cleaned up and went home, which meant you left at 10:30 or 10:45. Guess that doesn't happen anymore.
So, in closing I guess I will sum it up as "great place to eat- better...
