I had a very comfortable and convenient stay in Liberal, KS at the Hampton Inn & Suites.||||The hotel is easy to find and get to - just off US 54. There is ample parking. On the back side of the property are 3 EV charging stands. The grounds and landscaping were clean and well-cared for.||||I used the mobile app for check-in and my room key, so I didn't actually interact with staff until departure morning. The app and door lock were easy to understand and use.||||It only cost a few dollars more to upgrade to a King Suite, so I gave it a try. It was more space than I needed for this trip, but I enjoyed the roominess and features. At the entrance, a coffee station, microwave oven, mini-fridge, and bar sink - all spotless and working perfectly.||||Next was a sitting / office area with a fold-out couch, ottoman, and desk chair. The desk works as a room divider and has the flat-screen TV on a swivel mount. I was impressed with the number of channels and very fast response when surfing for programs. It was faster than most hotel TV systems I've used.||||One funny quirk about the room has to do with light switches. The dark brown wood of the room divider-desk hides 3 switches for very useful lights: desk pendant, desk downlight, and a gentle uplight that is great for night-time tv viewing.||||I very much appreciated that the light switches in the vanity sink area had glowing nightlights so they're easy to find in the dark. It took me a few minutes to find the bath/toilet light switch ... it was hidden behind a towel rack, but it was directly opposite the vanity / closet switch.||||The closet included an iron and board, as well as extra bed linen.||||The bed was quite comfortable, the air conditioning kept the room nice and cool when it was in the high 90s outside, and the blackout curtains kept the parking lot lights out.||||Ice and vending by the elevators. Guest laundry on alternating floors, and a snack / convenience "shop" by the front desk.||||A couple of families were enjoying the pool, but you couldn't hear that except when nearby. No highway sound reached my room.||||For my checkout morning, the main breakfast included western omelettes and sausage bites. My omelette was fluffy and cheesy - one of the best I've had from Hampton. Oatmeal, fresh fruit, juices, cereals, pastries, and a waffle maker were available. The staff running breakfast were friendly and kept everything stocked, fresh, and tidy.||||Checkout was also done using the app, but I exchanged a friendly word with the front desk staff on my way out - she thanked me for staying and wished me a good day.||||Nothing but positive things to say about my stay here. Highly...
Read moreI wanted to love this place, but I can't help but be annoyed. We had been traveling from AZ and needed to do laundry badly, but was told they didn't have any quarters and I can't get over the fact that this is a nice hotel why don't you provide quarters. Why wouldn't you make sure you had a way all customers could do laundry. Then I needed to buy drinks. My husband wanted Coke, there was none in the bottled and I asked to buy a couple cans. I was told they didn't have any. So while I'm waiting to buy another type of drink I here the same girl ask a guest if they were a rewards member thay said yes and she points to a little display where the canned coke is and said would you like 2 of these items since your a member? She looked right at me knowing what she had just told me and there was no way I wadn't going to mention it. I said so you asked him if he was a member and boom he gets the drinks that you told me you didn't have. BTW I am a member. I could not remember my password so I didn't book the room with my members number because we are just now starting to travel and I honestly didn't know what being a member meant. I then asked would you have had quarters if I could prove I was a member? I just couldn't believe a guest would get treated like that. I can prove I was trying to get my members number so I could change my password with the emails that came to me. Why no quarters? Why not let customers buy the sodas that are for the members? Why not ask everyone if they are a member? Definitely not the experience I expected to have. And for sure could have been handled better. I haven't even checked out yet and I felt I had to...
Read moreRented rm 316..room smelled like dogs. Went back to desk and the young girl working, who was very very nice and it was her first night alone working, swapped our room to room 318. This room also smelled like dog but not as bad as the first one ao we tried to stomach it but again the stench is so strong I called the desk again and the young lady brought up some kind of Febreze which hardly masked the amell but appreciated her bringing it up. We have been driving for 12 hours and are exhausted and did not feel like more issues. She told us we could call the main office next week to see if we could get a refund. So very disappointed in this Hilton one of the best known, to be so nasty. Will never come back to this one for aure and probably no others either. All we wanted was a peaceful clean night to sleep before another 12 hours of travel only to be miserable and for $150 per not is absolutely unacceptable. Do better people! You wouldn’t stay in rooms like thos, why would you not care about the travelers who support your business?...
