I absolutely Loved the hotel, it was just my son and I for our trip to six flags a few weeks ago, we stayed two nights june 1-3 2021 and I seriously haven’t slept so well in many years!! The pros: 1.They do have a wonderful 12 pm check out. 2.The beds and pillows were amazing! I think they are a down blend, they are not like my full down pillows at home but they were very soft and fluffy. And the mattress was perfect not to soft or to hard, (for me anyway) I slept so well!! And I loved that all the linens were a very clean white. All the staff were just delightful, the front desk attendant was very friendly upon arrival, and check in was quick and pleasant. The foyer area is just beautiful, with a huge fireplace, and plenty of absolutely lovely seating! They also had a computer area here, and tables to sit at. There is a Starbucks here! It was so nice to be able to grab my coffee on the way out for the day. They have an indoor and outdoor pool, and a hot tub, (hot tub was shut down for our stay) and lots of seating and towels, the pool was open till 10. Gym was great, lots of equipment to use. The rooms were modern, with a very neat appearance. The restaurant was so amazing, and the food was absolutely delicious! My steak was cooked perfectly, and the seasoning was wonderful, dessert was so rich and decadent and the whip cream is made from scratch! And the service was impeccable! We had a Beautiful view from our room of the pond and a patio to sit on(first floor only)area to walk around the pond and possibly pet friendly I would assume, as someone had their dog there with them. They do have a spa available. (It was closed due to covid) Room service(not available at the time due to covid) Great location! Only about 15 min from six flags, nice and tucked away from the Main Street, I felt safe staying here!
Cons:(but most are covid related) 1.Hot tub was unavailable ( due to covid) 2.The exterior is pretty outdated. first room wasn’t super clean, but I mentioned it to the front desk attendant, and he apologized for the inconvenience and quickly moved us to the another room, and gave us a coupon ticket for breakfast at Starbucks and one for an appetizer for dinner at the restaurant. Room service was unavailable (due to covid) The newer electrical outlets in the room by the bed or any of the ones recently added in when they remodeled caused my chargers to get super hot, but I was able to find the one that the fridge was plugged into and use that. (This electric issue is Something they should really check into, it could cause a problem) The rooms are a bit small. (But Cozy) Spa was unavailable (due to covid.) Choices of Seating for dining were limited(due to covid) we got a pretty small table next to the window that just felt a bit awkward in the big dining area. A/C only goes down so far and the room didn’t get super cool, but wasn’t actually uncomfortable, although I do like to sleep with it cold, I was fine, but my son was a little warm so i did have them bring us up a fan. They don’t offer a complimentary breakfast which I know for a lot of people is a highlight of staying at a hotel. The tv was a bit difficult to navigate, we didn’t watch much though so it wasn’t a big deal for me.
As I said Most of the negative is due to covid restrictions. Overall We had an incredible experience staying at this hotel, and we will definitely recommend it to our family and friends, and we will be staying here when we come back to six flags later this year! Thank you...
Read moreI was at the Marriott Lincolnshire Resort as a member of a wedding party, I did reserve my own room under my own Bonvoy account rather than under the group rate as it was a better deal.
While the grounds and bar (SPECIAL THANKS TO JENNA!) were amazing, the quality of the room amenities left something to be desired.
There was a suspicious stain that appeared to be blood on the duvet cover, we removed the cover to find that the actual comforter was absolutely filthy. We slept with just the sheets that night. Photos attached. I would have been willing to accept this at a budget hotel, but this is supposed to be a flagship property. Hence the 2 star rating for the room.
There was an incident that involved a couple who was staying at the hotel, that managed to sneak in to the wedding reception.
I notified the groom, who promptly had them removed from his private event. He was not happy that someone managed to sneak in. We are unaware if they managed to take advantage of the open bar service.
We had an after party at the hotel bar, when it closed at 1am we were brusquely advised that the bar was now closed and we needed to leave. The wedding party was gathering our things and preparing to return to our rooms, and one security guard did make light physical contact with me which I did not appreciate.
I was honestly offended that we as paying customers of the resort were treated in this fashion - especially since hotel security was unable to prevent uninvited guests from accessing my friend's wedding reception.
Additionally, the groom had to interrogate the cleanup crew as suddenly the bride's bouquet had gone missing - and was advised that it may have been discarded. The wedding coordinator may have been able to save it, although I am not sure if that situation was resolved. In the end, just a little bit of heart would have saved the groom a lot of anxiety rather than having him having to depend on whether or not his hired wedding coordinator managed to save it.
Breakfast buffet the next morning was great. May I suggest offering waffles along with the French toast?
In total, I can see how the Marriott brand has faltered over the last few years - my other friend was married a few years ago and had his hotel reserved at the location in Northbrook which also came with issues of its own.
I'm sure this place was immaculate in the 80s and 90s, but it is now 2025 and it is time...
Read moreMy son and I stayed at the Marriott Resort with his team for a Lacrosse Tournament and also stayed an additional 2 days to visit Six Flags, which is only about 20 minutes away. While there the staff was AMAZING -from front desk to restaurant and bar. The kids loved the indoor and outdoor pool and there was plenty of common area for parents to relax after the games. A very cool patio with fire pits/tables as well.
Two individuals that stood out during our stay were Cane, one of the bartenders and Habib our server from the first night. Both were courteous, funny and provided excellent service to our group.
We have traveled to various hotels for sporting events and were pleased that the hotel had clear policies and guidelines listed for the athletes and their families which we received upon checking in. There was a 10:00 curfew for anyone under 18 unless with a parent and staff that patrolled the common areas to ensure that all guests were enjoying their stay. The hotel was welcoming to our organization and it made our decision to stay there again next year a must!
The location of the resort is perfect as well. There are SEVERAL excellent restaurants, shopping, movie theaters, etc. close by and Six Flags is just quick 20 minute drive. There was also a really cute town on the way to Six Flags that would be fun to shop and dine. Several restaurants and cute little boutiques.
The rooms were exceptionally clean, however like many hotels they did not clean each day or replenish towels, remove trash, etc. without calling to request a particular service due to Covid. However, when we did call and ask for anything it was immediately brought to the room. The beds were also AMAZING! Very comfortable and the blacked out curtains helped as well.
The only downside to the stay was the weather -which the hotel cannot control and that several of their amenities were not open due to being short staffed and the after affects of Covid. Hopefully next year when we return those things will be back open for all to enjoy.
We are looking forward to returning again next year for the same tournament and staying at the Lincolnshire Marriott...
