I booked online with my credit card, received confirmation, called ahead as well to let know we were arriving late. When my brother and sister in law arrived they were not allowed to go to the room. I called and talked with the folks and said I could again give them my credit card info as I was 20 minutes away at my sisters house planning our fathers funeral and would be to the hotel shortly. They still refused to allow them in the room, making them wait for me in the lobby. I had to cut my visit short with my sister as we were planning the funeral (the whole purpose for our stay in the first place) mind you it's late in the evening and as travelers, we are exhausted and my brothers wife has serious health problems. AND ALL OF THIS BECAUSE THEY HAD TO SWIPE MY CARD. The clerk tried to help us but it was the MANAGER who was so hard nosed, REFUSING to allow them in. I was shocked. Talked to another hotel and have friends in the hotel industry and all said they agreed...this was totally inappropriate and poor business. We were going to leave to go to another hotel but it was completely booked up, so we were stuck. Add to that the very moldy bathroom....super disappointed and didn't appreciate being treated like low life's. I had gotten this room for us ahead of time to help my brother and his wife out and for them to be made to wait in the lobby until I got there with the physical Credit Card was deplorable. especially when I told them where I was, that I'd be there shortly and to please let them...
Read moreAt arrival we were notified the elevator was broke and the suite we booked was on 3rd floor. Being an older couple with arthritis in the knees climbing steps is impossible. The hotel did exchange our suite to a standard room on 2nd level.. we go up the stairs to our room to find the housekeeper just starting to clean our room she recognized our anxiety and offered to let us sit in the clean room across the hall while she finished. After she finally let us in our room I realized I left the keycards in the other room. So I went back down the steps to the desk to have them rekey the room and give me new keys. I was informed they don’t rekey rooms ever. I said that is odd so everyone who has ever stayed in that room and did not return key card has access to my room. The answer was yes and I was given a duplicate key card. We slept with a chair against the door. security?? The hotel was average the desk clerk and housekeeper was very customer service oriented. Thank you to them they were very understanding after driving all day to find the elevator was broken was very disheartening we were so disappointed. I know sometimes these things happen and they are out of everyone control. I wish I had not used valuable reward points on this stay. If I would have paid cash I would have expected an adjustment. I believe the combination of a long day driving and these unfortunate circumstances was just overwhelming. Thank you for...
Read moreFirst off, we arrived early. I knew at 1130 it would probably be too early to check in. The front desk lady said “Yes, it’s too early...come back at 3pm.” It was 90 degrees out the day of our stay. I asked if we could store our bags, so our stuff would not melt in the car. The lady chuckled like I was asking a foreign question and said “No, we don’t do that.” I’ve never stayed at hotel that didn’t offer that. We returned at 3pm to be told the hotel was oversold and we were given 2 rooms on the bottom floor. I had requested higher rooms, because the bottom floor of this hotel has outside rooms. We booked 2 rooms and my mom wasn’t comfortable staying in this type of room for security reasons. The same lady repiled “It’s all we’ve got!” We went to our rooms only to see a kid in my room through the window eating out of a fast food bag. I went back and said “Someone's in my room. She replied “Oh that’s the maids daughter...she’s out now!” Now I’m worried how clean this room really is? The room disgustingly smelt like cigarettes. The public ashtray was outside my door. Gum was smeared all over the carpet. I can hear the people above me stomping around. In my Mom’s room, she was trying to sleep and her smoke detector battery was dying, so it was beeping. She woke up, called the front desk only to be told “Well, I’ll have to call maintenance to come...he’s at home.” A disgusting experience. Zero customer service....
