This hotel is easily accessible right off I-96. There were three staff members behind the front desk when my mother and I arrived at about 2:45pm on 11-1-18. None of them said Hello to us; I had to initiate the greeting. No one had name tags on. They seemed in a hurry to get us checked in and out of their way - my mom and I were the only guests in the lobby. There was a strong smell of chlorine in the lobby. There is a pool at this hotel, but I don't think we should have smelled it in the lobby. Our room had a sliding door for the bathroom. The door didn't close against the wall; it 'closed' against the coffee counter, and there was about a 2-3" gap where I could have watched my mom use the toilet. There was a ceiling fan in the bathroom, but no control/switch to turn it on. The lamps between the beds worked intermittently. Had a service member come up to repair them when we left the room for a few hours. They were on when we returned to the room that night, but went off on their own before we went to bed. I called the front desk and was told the service staff had left for the day and there was no one to repair the lights. The lamp over the couch worked the same; wouldn't come on for a long time, and when it did, it wouldn't stay on. I asked for a discount because of this. We had to get out of bed to turn off the overhead lights before we went to sleep. We received a 10% discount. The room was clean, as was the lobby and breakfast area. The hallway between the room (421) and the elevator squeaked. Only one of the elevators was working. This was our first time staying at this hotel. We may return only because of its convenience to family. We would not want the same room for the issues listed above. My mom needs a walk-in shower, and I was told when I reserved the room that that was the only room with a walk-in shower. So, if we return, my mom will go without a shower so we can avoid the issues of that room. Hopefully, though, those issues would be...
Read moreFirst impression was very good, hotel lobby was clean and new. Front desk only had one employee who was very busy. I got checked in and up to my room. First day room was clean except for small stain on floor. We went down to pool, very small, very chlorinated, no towels even after i notified the front desk. After the pool we had to use room towels. I had a suite, pull out had no sheets on it, called down to front desk atleast 3 times to get them to bring pillows, sheets, comforter for kids. They forgot comforter had to recall down. The next day, house keeping left a note by stating that "rooms that are left in this condition will be charged extra". Now i was confused by this statement, because i cleaned the room myself before we left and make sure everything was in trash cans, and/or bagged up. i removed sheets that my kids had stained so house keeping would know they were dirty. Well housekeeping took pictures of the "condition of the room" and sent it to management. The pictures showed the stain on the sheets and trash that had been throw ALL OVER THE ROOM! I was shocked i stated i dunno how this happened. But i let it go. Once i got back to the room that night i noticed the room had not been vaccumed or new towels, cups etc. And it was the same all weekend, i even made an attempt to stop the house keeper and hand her a tip and ask her to vacuum pick up towels etc. and it was not done. But i think the worse thing is that after my girlfriend left the one morning with the kids, the house keeper walked into my room while i was sleeping without knocking!!! i was baffled!! i just laid there to see if she would notice me. I stayed for 3 nights, and when i went to leave i saw the police there talking to an older couple, and they were telling the police that they dont know who could have "taken it" the house keeper is the only one other then them that had a key!! please beware staying here.. I wouldnt take my...
Read moreI only stayed 1 night, and i will never come here again. The first problem was when i arrived it was a large graduation party going on, people was everywhere and the pool was over crowded. I asked at the front desk could i go to another location or could i change my reservation to the next night. I was told no, and that they was going to have the loud music stop. The man behind the counter stated that it was a 1 time accommodation for them because someone graduated, but no accommodation could be made for my family and i just for a change of location or the next night.
There was teenagers running everywhere, people was dropping them off and leaving. I heard running and bouncing all in the hallway almost all night. I called the 1 800 number they did not help with changing location or the night.
I pulled out the bed for my children found pink socks in the bed and no bedding. I called the desk they asked me if i wanted a bag for the socks that was a joke. I asked why would i want a bag for someone else dirty socks. I was also told that it was only one person at the desk and i had to come down stairs get the bedding and make the bed up myself. I am not on pay roll as room service but i did make up the bed because my children was not just about to lay on a mattress. They gave me a sheet and said that it was no pillows for the bed. By this time i was over the entire stay. My baby and i never got in the pool because i did not want my 1 year old around a lot of kids in the pool.
I would not recommend this livonia location to anyone. If you want a great experience go to Southfield where you are treated welcomed. They do not have parties, its not random children everywhere, you will not find dirty socks nor have to make up your own bed.
If this was my first time at a holiday inn express i would have never visited this business again.đ đ đĄđĄđĄđĄđĄ. Stay away if you can. If i could have given no stars...
