I don’t like to leave negative reviews because I really hate the thought of hurting businesses, but people seriously need to know what they’re getting themselves into before booking a room here. To be totally honest, the room was disgusting. My first impression was that it looked absolutely nothing like the vibrant, clean pictures online, and the closer I inspected everything the worse it got. The room was grungy and dingy. The walls and baseboards were scuffed up and gray with little dents all around and writing on the wall that was literally signed and dated from the 1960s and 70s (see picture), so presumably it hasn’t even been repainted since then. It smelled weird, like an odor that was poorly masked with cheap cleaning solvent and air fresheners. There were stains all over the sink and also orange mystery stains on every single towel I picked up, so rather than even drying my hands with a towel I just let them air dry each time I needed to wash my hands. The headboard of the bed had stains. There were ink stains on the comforter. As others have also mentioned in their reviews, the bathroom lights randomly turn off (I’m assuming they’re motion activated), which happened to me about 4 times just within the short amount of time it took me to brush my teeth before bed. It was very startling and creepy. The metal rack for towels under the sink is falling apart and haphazardly taped back together in multiple places. The toilet doesn’t flush very well so paper gets stuck around the sides of the basin. The whole night I stayed there, I literally didn’t want to touch anything and I didn’t even want to set my luggage down because I didn’t want it touching anything either. Good luck sleeping here because starting at around 5 AM, a flock of birds living outside the front of the building starts collectively squawking so loudly that it might as well be a scene from The Birds by Alfred Hitchcock. Also good luck finding a parking space because the lot is too small to accommodate everyone so you’ll have to look on the street or in a nearby gas station lot. Sure, the place is super close to the beach, but why does that matter when the neighborhood doesn’t even feel safe anyways? The outside area looked sketchy and if I had been traveling alone I would have just paid double to stay somewhere else last minute. The only reason this place deserves even 1 star is because at least the guy at the front desk when we checked in was polite. I would put this place on the level of any old gross motel along the side of a highway somewhere in the Midwest. I legitimately have no idea how it has 4 stars on Google Reviews. I cannot emphasize this enough: the pictures and descriptions of the place on their website are incredibly deceiving. If you want to really enjoy your stay in Long Beach and feel comfortable about where you are sleeping at night, just spend the extra few dollars at a normal hotel and take an extra 5 minutes to drive to the beach. I am beyond frustrated that we booked a room here, it absolutely was not worth the amount they charge.

We had a fantastic stay at the Belmont Shore Inn! The location was easily walkable, extremely close to the beach, and close to food/grocery. The room was nice and big, easily big enough for 4 adults. It was clean and comfortable. Hotel staff were SO nice and courteous and were easily available for extra towels or anything when needed. They even gave us a welcome gift of snacks/water when we check in! They were able to give restaurant recommendations and areas to check out nearby. I was initially nervous about not being able to find parking as there are only (6) spots in the back and we stayed during a busy event weekend (Long Beach GP). But this didn't end up being an issue at all. Between street parking and the private lot it was never a problem to find an available spot. That being said, I will note... the back lot is VERY tight and fills up fast but with some careful maneuvering it is still usable. The only improvements that I could say are rooms were a bit noisy, squeaky doors, upstairs noise, etc. Low water pressure would be only other issue. If this could be improved it would be amazing. We would certainly come back!!

I guess you get what you pay for. As this room was $139 a night, I thought no coffee, no fitness center, and no continental breakfast would be a tradeoff for how close it is to the ocean. The room was dirty. Not the type of dirty where they hadn't cleaned after one or two stays. The type of dirty where the baseboards around the whole room were caked in filth. The one tiny window was filthy and had mold. The floor had hair on it (not my hair). There was dust and crumbs under the bed. The towels and sheets were stained. The soap dispenser in the bathroom was empty. On the last night of my stay, the room below mine, the manager's room, was a club from 11 pm - 3 am. Loud music and bass kept me up until it stopped at 3 am. I was afraid to go and ask him to please quiet it down. There is no way I was the only one who heard that. The hotel sign had stated no vacancy. The free parking is five spaces behind the hotel. Four if you account for the manager's vehicle. The spaces are small, and if you drive anything other than a sedan or small SUV, you most likely won't fit. Giving this hotel one star is being generous.

First off… THE LOCATION IS PHENOMENAL! There is no ocean view but the beach is less than 400ft away and right by the pier. There are so many restaurants and stores within a quick 2-10 minute walk! The area is quiet but don’t expect everything to be crystal clean not even the select few beautiful beaches they show on travel promos are free of homeless or dirty areas. Secondly- the rooms don’t necessarily look like the photos but they are not so bad as I’ve seen in other comments/reviews. They’re super cozy with comfy beds. No coffee, but the shower has a full size shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion and hand soap. The room has a beach house vibe for sure. Lastly, the hotel managers customer service was pleasant. We checked in very late and he greeted us with a smile, explained everything in detail and offered his assistance at any time (which we were so grateful for because we locked ourselves out after getting in back late from Disneyland when we rang the bell he again greeted us with a smile and was very helpful) Prices fluctuate but overall we definitely got our moneys worth and I will be staying here everytime I come back to Long Beach! It’s an inn/motel. They do not claim to be A FIVE STAR HOTEL WITH ALL THE AMENITIES YOU MIGHT BE USED TO IF YOU USUALLY BOOK 5 star hotels 😂. It’s budget friendly and 20 - 30 minutes away from all the CA...
