This tiny patch of greenery was actually laid out in the 1880s when Long Beach actually had a trolley. It was a piece of green grass in a time when only a handful of homes existed and NO apartment complexes were the norm, but open fields and a quiet, peaceful breath of lazy fresh air relaxed human necessity.
