10-15 mins from Universal Studios Hollywood. We decided not to stay in downtown due to annoying parking fees and homeless problems. We decided to go a bit away from the downtown area and we were glad we did. There’s plenty of parking below so you can park near your room. The area seem quite safe. There’s a Denny’s right next to the hotel. Target is also nearby. Front desk staff were super friendly and helpful. Check in was fast. There’s a pool and a small fitness center. We used the fitness center, we liked that it had a tv, water filter, towels and sanitizer wipes for usage. There were free weights, treadmill, elliptical, etc. All the equipment were new and clean. The a/c was blasting in there so it was a plus. It was 95 degrees outside during our stay. The room upon walking in was already cool from the a/c. Everything was clean. We had a king room and I liked that it had two sinks, makes it easier to get ready. Inside the room, there’s also a small coffee maker, which we enjoyed in the morning. Although one small blip was that housekeeping was knocking at around 9am, which I didn’t understand why? Especially when check out is 12pm. And if you stay more than 2 days, due to COVID, you have to request for housekeeping to make your bed. If I didn’t go to the door, I just wonder if she would’ve just barged in, because I know sometimes that happens. Overall we enjoyed our stay, would return if we are ever in the area.

Upon my arrival, the staff member greeted me with a warning smile and provided me with all necessary information regarding my stay, about the surroundings area and other relevant information about the property. Property is set a nice neighbourhood, which is safe and full of things to do, there’s supermarket, restaurants, petrol station with a 24/7 shop and also access to a public transport within a walking distance from the property that can takes you all over LA. You’ll find a self parking space throughout the property, vending machines with snacks, coffee, and beverages. The property also have a gym space if you fancy working out, and a swimming pool. The property itself is absolutely gorgeous, well maintained with cleaning services and toiletries replenish daily. Staff are very carrying and attentive ensuring that your stay are pleasant at all times. I had an extremely pleasant stay at BW Plus Carriage Inn on my recent visit to California and I certainly recommend it to anyone planning a visit to Los Angeles.

Price on my receipt is not what I was charged. I found out from my bank statement that I was charged $14 more than what was shown on my receipt, manager Jannet Jara says it was "probably" the parking fee. I shouldn't not find out I was charged additional fees from my bank statement. Any and all fees should have been disclosed upon check in. Additional, there is a huge gap between the floor and door, allowing any sort of rodents or bugs free access to the room. Or any creeps who want to stick a camera under the door. My whole hand fits between this gap. Lastly, the room was not clean. The walls were dirty and the pipes in the sink stink when you run the water.

I'd give zero stars if I could. Checked in at 6:00 PM. I had reserved a king size room, was given a room with 2 queens which smelled. We tried to shower but the water barely trickled out. We called front desk and they sent maintenance (who was wonderful and the only good part about this stay) but were still unable to shower before going out. That night, we turned on the lights and one of them was flickering and crackling anytime it was touched. We were afraid it would catch on fire, so it was unusable. The next morning, the connecting room checked out at 8:30am. At 8:45am the maid showed up and made no effort to clean quietly. She was banging VERY loudly items and hitting the wall and connecting door repeatedly with the vacuum. She was chatting with another employee directly outside our door for over 20 minutes at full volume. We had our Do Not Disturb sign sticking out of the key slot, so it was VERY obvious that we did not want to be disturbed. We shoved towels and clothes under both doors to make it quieter but made it no difference. This went on for nearly an hour before she tried to enter our room even with the Do Not Disturb sign on the door and checkout at noon. I complained to the front desk telling them we chose them because they had a check out time of 12pm rather than the usual 11am because we had been traveling and needed to rest. (We were never able to fall back asleep so there was no reason for the later checkout.) I asked about any compensation for this terrible service but the manager was extremely condescending and rude even shrugging his shoulders over the broken shower. I told him that I have never been woken up by housekeeping at a hotel and I wanted him to have provided the service I paid for. He actually asked “what that was.” I said the ability to rest and relax until the time I paid for, which was noon. He continued to be rude, condescending and useless saying there was nothing he could do. He didn't even apology for the inconvenience. This was the most horrendous experience I have ever had and will never return. Save yourself the aggravation and go elsewhere.

August 24, 2022 Thanks for your response, but this does not address the rude and condescending behavior of the manager. I would assume he would have more experience than the maid service and know how to treat guests. Obviously, that is...

The day before check-in, I received an email to pre-register for our room which was great to have the option to expedite our check-in process. After a few hours of driving to get there, the sooner we can get to our room, the better. While pre-registering, I was a little shocked to come across the portion that asked if I had a car to park overnight and that there would be an extra charge per night to park. 4 months before booking this hotel, I filtered the list to only show hotels with free parking, in which this hotel met. So when I was informed of the charge, I was a little disappointed. FORTUNATELY for us, when I checked-in, I was informed that since I booked in June and the parking charge was added in August, my parking was covered and I wouldn’t need to pay. YAY for customer service! With pre-registering, checking in was quick and easy, it took about 3-5 mins with only one person in front of me. The 2 gentlemen that helped me were nice and courteous. Our room was clean and spacious. For a 4 star hotel, we did find some discrepancies, there was a black stomp on the ceiling (it looked like someone took a dirty shoe and slapped the ceiling), there was a stain on the window curtain, the inside of the cabinet door that held the mini fridge was chipped to the point where the light brown of the wood was exposed, the carpet felt really dirty (looked under my feet & it was slightly black) and the AC unit seemed a little outdated but it did work to keep the large room cold. Toiletries in the bathroom, fresh towels and the bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash for us to use in the shower were great. We enjoyed the mini fridge and always having available parking close to our room. Although I read some recent reviews about sketchy people outside the hotel, we felt safe because it was well lit, no one was hanging around (that we saw) and there was a security guard on-site. Having Dennys on the property was amazing, the night we arrived, we didn’t need to hunt for food to eat. Location was great, near the freeway, Target and a great food truck. Price of the room was reasonable. We...

I checked in and then discovered hair in the tub and in one of the beds. I pulled the sheets then I saw some hair and pulled down some more to find hair all over and this wasn’t on top it was under the top sheet. I checked the other bed but that one was good. The tub had also hair so I called the desk at around 10pm and explained to the person who answered the phone the problem. Fist of all he didn’t seem to care at all then he just says I don’t have another room to move you so I told him if I could get clean top and fitted sheets and blankets for both beds be nice. that I was gonna make them. When he seemed so careless I asked if there was a manager and he said he was the manager so that got me more disappointed, how could he be so careless. Then he took like 15min until he finally came with clean lining he just gave them to me and left. My daughter and son were falling asleep already but on the chair because they couldn’t go to bed like that. Let me tell you I work at a hotel as a front desk clerk and when I guest comes to me with any kind of complaints I do apologized on behalf of housekeeping and the whole hotel. I offer to move them if that’s an option or to come clean and change the bed sheets my self that fact that you didn’t seemed sorry or surprised says a lot. The next day i saw a housekeeper and I asked her if she had my room and said yes so I told her if she could take all the dirty stuff I had so she asked why I had that so I told her what happened and she told me that, that couldn’t be possible because she made that room so pretty much she called me a liar. I told I had a video to show her. If it would it been mine or any of my kids hair I would care but it wasn’t ours so that was very disgusting. I really hope that hotel has another manager that really cares when stuff like...
