I've added a star because they seem to be more honest about pricing these days. For a while there, every time I went, I was overcharged for one or two things. Whether it's not keeping up with inventory or being shady, that's unacceptable to me. However, it seems to have improved, now.
That being said, the checkers are nicer than they used to be, but when they ask you how you are...just say fine, good, whatever...and move on. They make it pretty clear they're just asking to make a show of it. Which, again, is fine, and a vast improvement over what it used to be. I just prefer the places where they're more conversational.
Today, though, there were a few issues for me. One was that they tout a gift card based on how much you spend. What was not apparent to me was that you have to use some app to get the deal. I'm not cluttering my phone with another app just to get your deal. The checker used the one he had at the register so that I would get the deal anyway. It was completely unnecessary, however, to try to convince me that he was right, and show me that I needed this app thing. When checkout people have to prove they're right to customers...that's not a fun time for the person paying for stuff, FYI.
I also went to return something that was, admittedly, over six months old, so it wasn't on my Target card anymore. It had the price tag on, but they were only going to give me back half of what I paid. I intensely dislike that. I know I should return it sooner, but with as much as I spend at Target, it gets you far more good will to just give me back my whopping $14. You can spare it, I'm quite sure.
Clientele issues (me venting, yes, and also warning you about what to expect if you have high expectations of well-mannered people, as I do). If you've read other reviews I've written, you may gather that, even though it's not entirely "fair"... I judge partially based on clientele. This place can be dreadful in that department. On one visit, some woman yelled EXCUSE ME at me, very rudely, (if not just plain confrontational) even though there were children milling in front of my cart. I guess she thought it was better to run them over than wait another thirty seconds. Today some jerk in the parking lot sat in his car doing... I don't know what...even though he knew I was waiting for the space. I waited a couple of minutes, then had to move on. As soon as I did, he left the space. Obnoxious. Rude. Another guy inside the store...creepy dude with his grandmother...was fully blocking the aisle. I said, "Excuse me" and smiled and waited. He looked at me and completely ignored me, popping things into grandma's cart as though they were the only people in the world. Then they snailed down the aisle as slowly as they could. Rude. Obnoxious. Those are the types of clientele I run into at this store, so I don't really frequent it anymore.
On the positive side, it seems they've stopped allowing pets in the store. That's a huge...pet peeve...for me, even people HAVE to take their dogs shopping with them. They sell food there. Dogs aren't allowed. I don't take my dog in and shop for ice cream and hang out at Starbucks inside the store. Anyway, I discovered this because a man was protesting very loudly at the door when security and an employee stopped him when he attempted to bring his dog shopping today. We'll see how that goes over with the women who sneak them in in their little handbags...
It's still Target, and it's still appealing enough that I spend scads of cash there once in a while. I just don't do it at that one...
Read moreThis Target is awesome. All the negative reviews here are because the reviewers expected a worker to personally escort and shop for them. I've seen this one too many times at all the targets I've been to. Depends on the time you go. I've witnessed some guests a act like they're royalty. The workers are there to help you, not serve you. I was at the electronics counter and a lady was screaming at the worker about not having some apple product in stock because she called earlier and they told her it was in stock. She didn't bother reserving it because this is how the world is now. Everyone thinks they are special and unique and no one else is more important. This customer thought that because she was calling they would automatically reserve one and how could they possibly run out. Well, there's other people in this world and no store carries unlimited supply of every product. She demanded that the worker find her a store that had it in stock and then complained that it was too far. She wanted it delivered to her house and actually had the nerve to ask for a discount because of the trouble Target had caused her. Wow.... Sorry Target. You're a great corporation but you can't please everyone. Fact: people are more inclined to give feedback when they've had a bad experience. The underlying psychology is that the person had a bad experience and wants to get even, so they write a bad review. Fact: people that have good or amazing experiences have less motivation to write a review. They got :what they wanted and don't need to write a positive review...
Read moreFor the area, this location is pretty hit, or miss. Generally, it’s a good store. The employees are helpful and generally knowledgeable.
The personal care items are locked up. But if you push the button for assistance, the employees are generally pretty good about coming immediately.
The restrooms are generally clean. And this location also has a year-round swimsuit collection! So if you need a bathing suit in winter :-)
There is an on-site parking garage. Just be sure not to park there for longer than two hours lol. Also, don’t try to park on the first level. Go up a few to where there are more parking spaces.
The one thing I will say about this particular, location are the solicitors. It seems as though they are there with the stores blessing. Maybe this will change in the future. But like so many solicitors in the general area, it is best to not encourage the presence with donations, giving them personal information, Etc. Do not believe what they are telling you. Most solicitors are scams.
