Colony Inn North Hollywood — Hotel in Los Angeles

My stay at the Colony inn was truly! by far!! The best last minute decision I ever had! This hotel made me drop my jaw in AWWW!! 😲 & The room we stayed in was OMG!!! 2 👍's up!! I was literally like a kid in a candy store! It was surprisingly amazing and chic in modern *👌 I would 💯% Hands down recommend this motel! Now budget wise is a little bit pricey..... But personally it is worth every penny 💰💰💰 the environment and facility is very quiet almost tranquil and the front desk is super friendly and they make you feel so welcomed & I believe the women who was I believe was the owner of the hotel is understanding and soft spoken she understood our situation at the last minute minute that our reservation that we booked a month in advance was cancelled w/o my knowledge or discretion by the motel owner because he went off of pure assumption that we were not going to show up even though we had spoken to him hours before confirming our reservation is still available and that he told us we had to be at the hotel at specific time -& I was confused about why did we have to be there at a certain time I thought hotel policies about checking in is from either 2pm or 3pm unless requested to have early check-in so I was already exhausted and sore we happened to just turn in the entrance of the hotel parking lot and like I said the gentleman that accommodated us that late afternoon was very polite and as we gave into the exhaustion🤕... We we're checked in fast and with no issues . And as we we're getting ready to go to our room a lady who I believe is the owner was very polite and soft spoken she addressed us the rules and policies of the hotel so after that she sent us on our way and said have a good night and hope to see you again😊 I wish there were more hotels and hotel staff just like the colony inn the management and staff are super polite & make you feel welcome THANK YOU COLONY INN! I recently stayed here for three nights (Wed-Fri). The motel is located in a lively area of North Hollywood, some kind of art district. I cannot say it’s unsafe area but I wouldn’t feel super comfortable walking at night. But then again, not many places are safe to walk at night anymore. Anyway, inside the motel itself seemed pretty safe with all the cameras on every floor. I would prefer to park my vehicle within the motel and not outside, which I was fortunate to do so for all three nights. Which leads me to…The front staff was very friendly and accommodating. The nice lady who worked in the evening was able to find me a parking spot for two straight nights. Onto the room. Let’s just say that I got what I paid for. Nothing too fancy: kind of old but at least it’s carpeted, a king size bed with four pillows, flatscreen TV, closet (with ironing board), armoire, a mini fridge, and bathroom (with hairdryer) of course. No microwave though, that you will have to use the one on the first floor two doors down from the office. And there’s no breakfast. Here’s a big negative: on checkout day, the bathroom ceiling was leaking water. (see pics) Maintenance man said it’s due to old copper pipes. Sounds plausible considering the looks of the motel. I booked a room for two nights at this facility. I was greeted with smiles and kindness. My bank flagged transactions so at first my card declined. Kindly, the night staff man waited patiently for me to sort out the issue. After quick service and receiving my room key, I couldnt find a place to park in the facility parking lot, so the night staff man moved his car and parked it on the street so I could park in a monitered space as a guest. This is contrary to my experience at a near by facility in Hollywood called Le Bon Hotel where I was beraited like a child while trying to book my room for a second day and threatened a smoking fee if I left the room a mess. Further, later on that day, the same man refused access to paid parking facilities citing the entire parking space was full because all reaervations for the night had been confirmed... There were five rooms still available at that hotel that same night, i checked myself at 11:30 pm on google, I approached him around 5:00 pm that same day... The man barely spoke discernable English and was almost as dark skinned as i am, A black male. Thank you Colony Inn for restoring my faith in services somewhere in this most racist state of the union. It was nice to have a normal experience for once in the last year of...
