Not worth it. During my stay for 10 days the following occurred:

It took 40 mins to check in, around 8pm in the evening, only one staff was helping guests- there was a line of about 5 other people waiting in line to be helped. The same is often true for most of the day/night, whenever you need something either at the desk or over the phone they are either overloaded with guests due to low staffing, or not picking up the calls because they are in the back (doing what? im not sure...) Housekeeping did not always come on days requested, even when reminded throughout the day that they had still not arrived Room service gave dated, soft fruit in the mornings(after spending $11/order), orders were wrong- a few times taking up to 3 hours to correct, or not arriving at all (and then not doing anything to compensate the orders after all that). This occurred every day, sometimes twice a day for about 8 days straight, after 8 days things got better, but still had problems. Even food was not eaten &incorrect they charged for the orders. Also charge for every item added/substituted to a meal & will only provide it on the side. They charged $2 for hot water. They spilled vinegar on my clothing items, fought about the fact that it occurred- completely denying responsibility, and then argued about paying to have them dry cleaned. Internet was fully not functional, or hardly functional for about 5 days Elevators were broken for 3 days, even after fixing it it broke after a day. I was on a knee scooter, so the only working elevator was CONSTANTLY full of people to get to the lobby and I'd have to wait for 2-3 cycles of elevators just to get to and from my room. The front desk and in room dining would NEVER pick up the phone for 10-30 minutes at a time or staff would put you on hold and never return to the line after 10-15 minutes of waiting, or theyd hang up on you mid sentence. On top of this, requests had to be made multiple times in order for them to follow through, and often something like a bell cart, and they only have 1 bell cart for the entire hotel. They'd lie about "losing keys" to their cafe so that guests couldn't get snacks in the middle of the evening. The hallways stunk of weed, people would wake you up with loud noise outside the room at 130, 230 & 330 am (etc.), I even had people doing the same at 6 am. If you stay here, guaranteed you'll be awoken by loud noise during your stay and your clothes will reek of weed. During my stay my sink plug wouldnt stay open, balcony door was impossible to open, toilet paper holder broken, shower handle was impossible to use -they were using alternate parts& waiting for parts to come in (leaving my water extremely hot or extremely cold),movie I rented kept skipping ahead/glitching, This is the kicker: My toilet broke and was spitting out water and maintenance said there was nothing they could do until the morning- I was given another key to a room beside me and was on a knee scooter going back and forth between rooms to do simple things like brush my teeth and use the toilet- I had to take all my toiletries back and forth between rooms. That morning, no one came and I had to call once again to get someone up there, housekeeping was also supposed to come first thing in the morning to clean up the spitting water and muddy maintenance people's shoes but I too had to request for this. -In all, no compensation was given(not even the bathroom), other than the dry cleaning. I have stayed at this hotel multiple times over 6 years&have normally been quite satisfied-even when they have gotten things wrong they normally correct it right away& they dont have mechanical/wifi issues. During the last couple stays the hotel has definitely gone down hill, I'd no longer call this a "luxury" hotel, other than having a pool. I dont think it's worth the money. I'd probably suggest luxe next door if you stay nearby, you can often find it online for the same price and angeleno. They also have a better restaurant, &more expansive menu. Staff are way...

Updated review 2025. Unfortunately I cannot give the same 5 star review like my first review. I had a wonderful experience with the reservation people and Russell the reservation manager was EXTREMELY kind and helpful. When we arrived later that evening, the woman at the front counter was welcoming and all went fine with check in. Our room was 1512 and the A/C was not working well. The room was hot and uncomfortable and the noises from up above us all throughout the night were loud as if someone was dragging something across the floor. The shower pressure could have been better as well. The following morning we left early for our appt around 630am and when we returned at around 10ish, I asked the front desk staff member Edith if we could have a late check out. Without looking up our room number or anything she very quickly and not so friendly said "oh we don't do late check outs". I explained to her that I have done so in the past and Russell even told me that I could ask if needed" She then changed her mind and said she could do 1130am (which is only a 1/2 hour longer than normal check out). So unfortunately, my husband and I had to leave and wait in our car until the next appt, which to tell you the truth was quite disappointing. Also, when we arrived back around 10ish, we were looking forward to having breakfast at the restaurant like we have done before. When my husband went up, he was told that the restaurant was not serving and only room service was available but on your website the hours for breakfast clearly state Mon-Sun 6a-11a online so if that's not happening anymore they may want to update the website information so people do not expect to be able to have breakfast up there. Unfortunately, our appt went past your complimentary buffet hours. My last interaction was at check out. Edith was again up at the front counter and I gave her my room keys and waited for my receipt. She then said "I will email you a receipt" and I said that I need a print out. She then said her system was down but will email me the receipt. I asked how long the system might be down and I could maybe wait and she said she didn't know but promised she would email me the receipt. She said my total was $228.78 and I asked if that was with the discounted parking that Russell said he did for me. She said she didn't know what the charges were (but not sure how she saw the total but not what the itemized charges were) and as we were talking she answered the phone and left me just standing there. I left the hotel feeling very dismissed by Edith on two occasions and honestly not happy with our stay. Honestly, I'm bummed because my husband and I really enjoyed staying at Hotel Angeleno and it took THREE phone calls to 3 different people to receive my receipt that Edith promised to send. I also emailed Heather Parish (who I was told was the assistant manager) with my concerns and never received an email back from her. Clearly our business is not important to them.

Super helpful staff. I called and spoke to Edna about staying at the hotel last minute because my husband was moved up due to a cancellation for a procedure at UCLA the following day. She was extremely helpful and gave us a discounted rate since my husband is a UCLA patient. She made everything super easy and made us feel welcomed. Check in was simple and they have free valet parking. Room was a good size and clean. Overall experience was great and will definitely come back to...

Incompetent. Held an event with 28 rooms and told us we would have complimentary parking.

Great, but they kept charging our guests valet parking and we had to keep disputing the charges to get the charges cleared out.

Huge hassle to deal with on top of the stress of the event already.

Wanted to use a conference room for a few minutes to make a quiet phone call and despite every single room being empty, they would not let me use it.

I told them they are free to kick me out if anyone else wants to use it and they sent me to 3 different people to talk to about the room.

We booked 28 rooms and paid thousands of dollars and I can't get 5 minutes in a quiet room to make a call.

They claim to be "not square" but are horrendously restricted by policies and incompetent staff.

Lastly, the valet team parked my car when we're checking out and parked it in the middle of the driveway. I asked him to move it to the curb as it's dangerous to load and unload passengers in literally the middle of the road and it blocks other cars. He refused.

Then he told me to move the car away from the road because we were blocking people.

Stay at another hotel.

Also the actula rooms themselves: the bathroom is really tiny.

When you open the door to the bathroom, there is no room to actually sit on the toilet without acrobatics or first stepping on the bathtub, closing the door, and then doing your toilet business.

I'm a 175 5'9" male and in slim shape and I cannot easily enter and exit the bathroom.

I hate to sound like a stereotypical entitled, picky customer but this place is definitely the worst hotel I've ever stayed at.

Really wanted to like this place as it is close to my name but man avoid this place at all costs.

Anyone giving this place a 5 stars is not really critically thinking about their experience and are just mindlessly doing reviews. How could one give a 5 star review for a facility where the bathroom door swings into a bathroom whose size is only the door's radius?

Then what would I rate a facility where the bathroom is a normal size? 6 stars? Or a staff that isn't dysfunctional, overcharges my guests, and endangers them? 100 stars?

In response to owner's response: The extra charges were not for outside guests, they were for people who have a room. So let's add dishonesty to the list. Your engineering team is not going to have a way to make your bathroom bigger. The floorplan is just horrible, period. The business center is useless because it is loud and people are walking in and out. I told you guys you are more than welcome to kick me out when the next party comes in for the empty rooms, but you guys just passed me to "sales," and then they passed me to a few other people. Stop...
