I booked this room through Orbitz as a package deal. Since our trip was last minute, airfare was high and I had to skimp on hotel and car. This was the cheapest that was available. If you're looking for the Ritz, this isn't it, but for a fairly inexpensive price, this was fine for us. We just wanted a place to shower, sh*t, and sleep. We stayed in rm 136. It was part of the main building. There was plenty of parking. If there was none in the front, there was parking in the gated area. We landed at LAX around 9 am. Soon after, we received a text that our room was confirmed and that they would see us soon. I replied for the confirmed check-in time and was promptly answered (2 pm was the earliest). When we arrived we were greeted and checked in quickly without any issues. The rooms all had "No smoking" signs on them but you could smell cigarettes. It was pretty strong in our room when we opened the door. We could tell from the darkened ceiling that it had at least been a smoking room at some point. I think either people are still smoking in their rooms or that they don't go all the way out of the huge sliding glass door. Our room was clean and a decent size. A bit dated, but again, this was an affordable place to stay. There was a table/desk and a fairly "clean" (no questionable wet spot stains!) office chair for me to work from. Plenty of space to move around in. I think there used to be accent chairs which would have been nice to sit on instead of the bed, but no biggie. They probably did have questionable wet spot stains on them and had to be discarded..fine by me! A LOT of outlets, (I guess I didn't need to bring my power strip). Good light switches - never had to search for them and the ones by the bed were dimmers. There was counter space with coffee maker and all the items you would need for it, a mini-fridge that took a while to chill my bottled drinks but didn't keep my ice cream, an armoire for hanging clothes (and an iron & board), and the bathroom. The bathroom was a decent size. Good counter space in there, too. Clean. The only gripe I had was the stupid cloth shower curtain that is common in most hotels that blow inward and stick to you while you're trying to shower. I guess they use these since they can be laundered. Anyhow, the rod is placed so far into the shower that it narrows it and we're not tiny people. We ended up leaving the back half of the shower uncovered by the curtain and using that space to lather in out of the water spray. I was impressed that we always saw people fixing things & cleaning. The pool was closed for the season but still saw them cleaning it. The fence around the pool was being repaired, hallways being vacuumed, rooms being cleaned even late in the evening depending on when people left. It was nice to see all the bedding and towels taken out of the rooms. Not something I see all the time...which is scary :O Breakfast is all carbs. If you're staying more than a couple of days, grab some protein at a nearby store (there's a microwave). The Dollar Store is next door (not across the busy street). We went there for some Clorox wipes, a bigger coffee cup, fabric spray (smoke smell), and junk food. Breakfast and coffee were always being refilled and counters wiped constantly. PLEASE, remember that this is NOT your house! Butter, cream cheese, jelly, etc, are all single packages. Take your stuff and GTFO! Other people would like to grab stuff, too! Don't lay 5 plates of your stuff ALL over the place and stand there putting butter on 20 waffles!! Tables are available to eat at in the lobby. Snack & drink vendor machines, too. There was a nice security guard that greeted us every night. The "Do Not Disturb" sign was on our door the whole time we were there. We cleaned up after ourselves, even emptied the trash once, laid our towels in a stack when we left and made the bed (as we do at home). We left a "Thank You"...

I have been a customer of this hotel for many years, and I have never had such a negative experience as I did recently. This time, I am deeply disappointed in how a serious situation was handled.
First, I want to mention that during our stay, a 50-inch TV, which was part of my friendâs luggage, went missing, and no one has provided any explanation. Neither security nor housekeeping saw anything, and when we asked the "manager," his response was completely unacceptable: "Don't make a big deal out of it, you know the hotel's policies." I would like to clarify that first, I am a paying customer, second, I am not his employee, and I am certainly not asking for a favor. This manager, who is of Indian descent, has had issues with many other guests, not just us. His attitude is terrible, he can't control himself, and he lacks empathy and understanding of difficult situations that anyone could face.
Additionally, I would like to comment on the housekeeping service. While I understand that their job is demanding, I have often noticed that the rooms are not cleaned properly. Bathrooms have built-up dirt, the drawers of the furniture frequently have residue, including substances of questionable origin, and the glass doors to the terraces and pool area seem to be neglected. Iâm confident they can do much better.
Now, what truly broke my heart was what happened with the children yesterday. I asked for an extra room key so the kids could access the room after their mother had forgotten the key. These kids have already been through so muchâthey are victims of child abuse, and their mother has also been a victim of domestic violence. Instead of showing compassion, the "manager" coldly refused to provide a key, leaving the children stranded in the hallway. It was a moment when a small act of kindness could have made a world of difference for these children, but instead, we were met with indifference. This is not just about hotel policiesâthis is about basic humanity.
What really pushed me to the limit this time was how the abusive "manager" treated me this morning. I am helping my friend emotionally and supporting her with her young children. It was very hot, so I decided to use my car to help with transportation. While I was in my car, this "manager" came over and knocked on the window because he thought I was asleep (which I was not) and, in a very rude manner, kicked me out of the parking lot. I understand that there are rules, but arenât you human? Donât you have family? Or, as I mentioned before, are you a robot who only knows how to repeat, "Don't break the rules"? In todayâs world, a robot or artificial intelligence could perceive human emotions better than this "manager."
We donât want an apology; we need solutions for ridiculous attitudes like your manager's behavior. This "manager" was well aware of my friendâs situation. In fact, I wrote it in his language to ensure he understood. To make matters worse, the sink in the room is clogged, and we have photos and videos to prove it.
Valley Inn Hotel management, what are you going to propose to ensure situations like this do not happen again? This place has a reputation to uphold, and I have not only sent this complaint by email, but I have also taken the liberty of posting it on Google and all the platforms where this hotel is listed. It is not fair for a paying customer, going through something difficult, to be treated...
Read moreThis was the most horrid hotel I have ever stayed in, and I am not royalty by any stretch. They appear to take zero pride in their facility which is evident the moment you drive up starting with the garbage ridden parking lot. As you near the entrance you notice everything on and surrounding the door has a thin layer of filth, including the handle on the slightly ajar door. While the decor and general presence of the foyer appears appealing, the windows seem not to have (possibly never) been washed.
The floors show dried up puddles of some unknown substance, and the couches look like 500 people have sat on them while eating and used various surfaces of the upholstery to wipe their fingers. But wait, I haven't even started to tell you about the rooms yet!
Upon reaching the second floor via the crud and candy wrapper lined stairs, the air boasts a faint but obvious smell of urine, mildew and bacon. Entering the rooms you will first be blasted in the face with the smell of bleach, which is a relief for only about 2 seconds until you take your shoes off and walk 3 steps and begin to feel sticky stains on the atrocious carpeting beneath your feet.
At this point you put all of your luggage and belongings in the bath tub so you can go check for bed bugs, and find that the previous patron must have died their hair blue during their stay. Their hairs seeping with remnants of blue dye still line the tub, and can be found in various places on the floor and in the sink if you really start to look.
The king bed lacks anything resembling a fitted sheet, but rather TWO top sheets with the bottom one simply tucked under the yellow/brown stained mattress. But if that doesn't excited you, the tucked sheet is queen sized so it doesn't actually cover the foot of of the bed! This allows you a nice 6" view of the mattress for the duration of your time there!
If you hate having 4 fluffy pillows on a king sized bed, you'll love this setup. The 3 stone-like slabs of discomfort they provide will give you a neck cramp to die for come morning. You and your partner can even play rock paper scissors, or if you have, draw straws for who gets 2 of them.
The television options are endless and you can breeze through them with ease using the modest remote which boasts sustainability by using 3 strips of electrical tape to hold the batteries in instead of wasting money replacing the remote.
The bedside lamps will not work until you get up and dig around behind the chipped, sticky side tables to retrieve the extension cord to plug it in to the outlet15 feet away. Not only will you get some exercise, but you will then have completed the motif of this already luxurious room.
Also, if you had any cold food you wanted warmed up, just put it in the wood grain 1995 era bar fridge, and by morning everything will be at lovely room temperature (even though you ensured it was plugged in and turned up to 'max' before you loaded it with your food).
And remember, if you came here for a nice holiday and wanted to, for some reason, sleep in before heading down to their continental breakfast, you must be up and going by 8:45AM at the latest because it is done by...
