There are many reasons to be concerned about staying at this hotel I don’t know where to begin, so I’ll start with the day I checked in. Upon arriving the first thing that caught my eye were all the spider webs on the main sign. I got to my room and didn’t notice anything until it turn dark outside. The outside window was covered in spider webs and no less than 10 huge spiders crawling around. I began search in my room where I found 2 big spiders and a small one in the bed. The other bed had a hair in it. We told the front desk and switched rooms. The second room smelled like mildew, there was a spider on the curtain of the window, the same as before the outside window was covered in webs and huge spiders. Wait, there’s more! There were ants everywhere in the bathroom. I went to buy a can of raid to keep all the bugs at bay. The 3rd morning there was no hot water for 1/2 the day. The manager said he would be reimbursing the guests, but then changed his mind stating there was nothing wrong with the hot water heater. He felt it was because of the amount of guests staying at the hotel. Here’s my BIGGEST complaint of them all. One morning I was down in the hotel gym. My daughter ,16,stayed in the room as she was sleeping. There was a knock on the door. My daughter ignored it because we did not request for housekeeping services. The knock came again and my daughter ignored it. The door to my room opened and a lady said housekeeping. My daughter said hello and the housekeeper asked if she were expecting a guest and my daughter said no! At that time a man was asking for Julia, which is not my daughter. Again the housekeeper asked if she was sure she was not expecting a guest. Again, my daughter said no. Thankfully they both left. There was absolutely no reason the door to my room should have been opened. That is how girls go missing! I brought this to the managers attention he said “well, maybe she was no cognizant of what room she was at.” I call BS! It does not matter. She opened the door to a room for a stranger. This has not yet been resolved and I am here until it does! DO...
Read moreFirst off, to start - this is a brand new hotel, so it’s nice and clean inside. The front desk workers were always nice, as well. If that’s what you’re looking for, stay here. Otherwise, it’s not a great experience, at least until they work some kinks out.
Edit: I received word from the manager that the hotel was working with an electrician to fix the following issue, so I've upped the rating to 3/5. First off, our room had a light that you couldn’t turn off. That’s right, a hotel room by an airport where weary travelers will come to rest for likely short periods of time with a bright light in the room that YOU CAN’T TURN OFF. We called maintenance (maybe we were missing a switch?), they shrugged it off as “for security purposes” and left. What kind of hotel needs a security light in a guest room? We covered it with a towel and a jacket, but it was still bright.
Second, they treat their housekeepers like trash. I saw what looked like a manager for the housekeepers walk by a housekeeper pushing a cart, tell her in not so nice terms “go faster” (she certainly wasn’t walking slowly to begin with), then walk toward me, walk by, without saying “hello” or “good morning.” I’ve stayed in some pretty trashy hotels, and the housekeepers, especially those in managerial positions, are always polite and greet me in the hallway if we pass.
Third, breakfast - there weren’t a ton of people in the breakfast area (I’m sitting here writing this review before my departure and there are 10 guests present), but almost everything was out and empty. Want eggs? No. Sausage? No. Fruit? No. Waffle batter? No. Orange juice? No. Coffee? No (unless you like looking at empty carafes as decoration). They did have apple juice and yogurt, so I guess that’s nice? Update: a guest went to the front desk agent and she started working on the coffee.
Regardless, I’d stay away from this hotel, at least until they have the...
Read moreMy experience was bittersweet (more bitter than sweet) and I will never again stay at this hotel!||Even though the room was well-appointed and clean, the front desk experience and questionable business practices are appalling !||First, they automatically charge you for parking. WTF! It's a hotel at an airport and I suspect most guests don't have a car. This seems like a questionable and possibly bait-and-switch tactic. Very bad business practice and from what I learned this is a decision by the hotel and not sanctioned by Marriott. It was clear I didn't have a car and they never even enquired. The automatic parking charge was mentioned after I had inquired about getting to the airport. ||Second, they claim it's an easy five-minute walk to the airport . . . "Go out that door and down the path." The path was blocked off and, to get to the airport, you had to walk down the road and into traffice where there were vehicles heading for the parking garage. The barriers that restricted access to the path were clearly visible. Thankfully, I had to make this trek at 4:00 am. However, the front desk employees are clearly out-of-touch. ||Third, the lack of professional demeanor at the front desk was ridiculous. The first person I interacted with was a young man who couldn't stop giggling. Pull it together dude and stop giggling! The second person was a woman who was so apathetic about guests that she really needs to rethink having a job that requires her to interact directly with customers and guests. Should guests apologize for being there? Based on her behavior . . . apparently so.||The restaurant's menu is limited. I ordered a quesadilla with chicken that was okay and the service was pleasant. That, combined with the actual room, is the only saving grace for...
