1 star and the star is for "smallness of airport and cleanliness". airport is easy to navigate through cause its extremely small and it is very clean. but TSA and security stink!!! we had luggage that was 46 pds so it was overweight by 6 pds. only 6 pds and they charge an extra 50.00 to the bill because it was oerweight by 6 pds! then even though our luggage was LOCKED WITH A LOCK AND KEY they somehow BROKE into our luggage an left a note inside saying they do random security checks for luggage and ours was inspected...even though we paid 50.00 extra dollars they still rummaged through our expensive luggage and didnt have the decensy or courtesy to put it all back in the same spot as taken out of bag!! my makeup mirror was placed upside down and could have broken the way they put it back in the luggage. everything was moved and rearranged horribly!! then going through security there is hell on earth. i have been there SEVERAL times and EVERY time i have an issue where they have to search my bags and purse...i dont understand! and everytime they come up with NOTHING...IM AN INNOCENT CIVILIAN!!! this last time i dumped my whole purse out and placed it in their grey bins yet they still had an issue and had to look in the grey bins through all my things and found nothing!! i think their metal detectors are innacurate and need replacing for sure!! i travel ALOT through orlando , tampa, st pete, phili airports and NEVER have a problem though security so i know its just the harrisburg airport. be prepared for horrible intrusive security there. so on an end note security and customer service center where they check in luggage is horrible...need better equipment instead of harrasing innocent people and touching all their precious things. replace items where they belong in luggage or dont do it at all!!! dumb people and workers... the only thing good is janitors do a fantastic job with cleanliness and its a very small airport. will travel further to phili airport so no security hassle. you lost a frequent traveling...

Read moreI drove 2 hours to pick up my 21 year old relative flying in from Florida for my daughters 21st Birthday. The pick up went well. Our relative stayed with us for a week and when it was time to drive the 2 hrs back to the Harrisburg airport to drop her off that’s when it went downhill. 30 minutes before reaching the airport she received an email that her flight was cancelled due to mechanical issues. She called the airport and could not reach anyone at customer service. My daughter continued to drive to the airport so she could talk to someone regarding what to do. My relative got to the front desk only to find out that her flight was definitely cancelled and they were not going to accommodate her. This was no fault of her own so they should of put her up in a hotel room to catch the next flight out. No!! instead they told her she could drive over 2 1/2 hours to Philly and catch the 8:00am flight the next day. My daughter just drove 2 hours to this airport and now they want her to drive another 2 1/2 to Philly. They didn’t even offer a hotel room in Philly for them. This is very poor customer service. You had a 21 year old standing there crying to you and you did nothing!! Thankfully they made the drive to Philly and I had to find a hotel room that would take my credit card over the phone so that they were not stranded!! Thanks for a terrible ending to what should of been a great 21st birthday celebration and reunion! You caused us nothing but stress and an extra 200.00 for the hotel room in Philly which was right after Christmas ….so money was tight to...
