My wife and I took a late Valentine’s Day getaway to Lynchburg, TN, over the President’s Day weekend (2024). Originally, we were going to stay in Tullahoma; however, after seeing the reviews for the Lynchburg Country Inn, I decided to chance it. When we arrived, the manager allowed us to check in early because we made better time than I originally thought we would (220 miles). He was very personable and offered good advice on how to see the attractions in the area. Now, mind you, this isn’t a five-star motel with a bunch of fluff and frills, but it was clean, very clean. I always check my room thoroughly before bringing in my luggage, especially for signs of bed bugs and vermin, and room #207 passed muster. The bed was comfortable, and the room had a small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. The only issues, if that’s what you want to call them, were the lack of chairs and the fact that one of the towels had a slight stain; however, it had a faint smell of bleach, so there was no issue with it being sanitary. We liked the fact that the floor was laminate rather than carpet because of the sanitary issues that sometimes come with carpeted floors. As with all older motels, the walls were somewhat thin; however, there were no major noise issues, and the TV had an excellent choice of channels. Overall, for the price I paid, I was extremely happy with my stay. The motel could invest in a little more variety concerning the vending selection, but there’s a Subway and Chinese restaurant next door and a Dollar General within a 3-minute walk. I have no issues recommending this small, independently owned motel, which meets all the basic needs of the traveler. In summary, it’s clean, quiet, and a good value...
Read moreWe came through Lynchburg which is a lovely town and decided to stay one night. We booked a room at the country inn. I was disappointed in the room which was not clean and had not been cleaned well for sometime. The baseboards and corners in the room had cobwebs dirt and dust. Their was a green cloth recliner right next to the bed which I was afraid to touch. There is no way it can be cleaned. The toilet leaked also. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were also. At check in the attendant which is the owner had my credit card for a much longer time than my ID. He had it behind the counter and did not have a chip reader and you could not see what he was doing. 5 hours later I get an alert on phone that a fraudulent charge was attempted at Sam's Online. Fortunately for us our credit card blocked the access. This was the only transaction used by my card. The attendant did not speak English well at all and was very unfriendly. I advise you to use cash only at this motel. This town deserves a much better business in this motel. Service, cleanliness and hospitality are seriously lacking and unfortunate in the beautiful city...
Read moreI'm disabled in a wheelchair. I made reservations thru their website, well in advance for a handicap room. 7 months in advance actually. We were not given a handicap room, there are only 2 & both were taken, we were told the owner gives those rooms to people they know, who call in. Then why have it on the website? There aren't many choices in Lynchburg, none at last minute, so we had to make due. The beds are at least a foot taller than the seat on my chair & the regular room was tight for space. If I had been there with anyone elsebeside my strong capable man, I would not have been able to use that bed at all! We were told, even if I'd got the handicap room I had reserved, the bed in those rooms were the same, just as high. That is NOT handicap accessible. Advise anyone handicap who needs a handicap room to either call to actually speak to someone to verify the right room, or stay somewhere else. The best thing about this hotel is the location if you're going to visit the Jack...
