SMH!! This review is in 2 parts.. Hospitality. And. Room/safety Upon arrival after being on the road all day, we were both greeted at different times, by a very unhospitable hotel clerk. She was very rude, insulting, disrespectful, demeaning , offensive, belittling, very unprofessional to both of us at different times...do I need to say more. I think the picture is very clear!!!
Room.... for the price that was paid, a very huge disappointment!!! Our key card worked to gain access to the inside. We noticed that the door was proped open by a door stopper where you can see all the way to the other end of the hall. It has been our experience that this door is always closed. The hallway was not very well lite and the air was stale. As we began walking to our room we noticed doors to other rooms were left open. Our first thought NOT COOL NOR SAFE. We approached our room with caution unsure of why it is left open and who could be lurking/hiding. After we made sure it was safe , we noticed the temperature in the room. On the warm side.... light bulb.. hallway door and guests doors are left open due to poor circulation. Again both of these finds are not safe !! We attempted multiple times to get the room cooler , which it never happened. My dog panted the whole time we were there. The only relief he got was going outside to relieve himself and to cool off. The presentation of the room felt dirty in appearance, grungy feeling, not relaxing nor comfortable, as we entered the room and again not worth the money that was spent. The next morning, I woke up with a sinus headache, stuffy sinuses and eyes were crusted over. Bathroom.. there is mold , its musty and there is meldew. (room never did cool off when we woke up) The refrigerator seal has a tear and has been pulled away from the door. The pool area in bad form Please do not groom yourself behind the counter for guests to see. That is bad form. (My boyfriend went to check us out, and noticed the morning clerk cleaning her ears).
The only thing that was good.... was the coffee.
We have been to a variety of hotels and ARBNBS... we have never had an experience such as this, on any level. The reception that we have received from the above mentioned has been 5/4 star (hotels/arbnb).
This did not deserve a star on any level. However a 2 star was given for location. Even with that ... did not feel safe. There are other motels and hotels in same location... if I knew what I know now, I would not have booked a room there due to the location and safety reasons.
Needless to say..... WE will not be returning to ANY LA Quinta's in...
Read moreAround 10 PM two unknown guests unlocked our door with a hotel keycard and walked right into our room!!! Luckily they stopped when I yelled that there was someone inside before the unknown guests fully opened our door. The hotel front desk checked them into the SAME room we had already been checked into for the previous 3 nights... Before we got a chance to go to the front desk to complain about the incident we get a call from the front desk to our room phone asking why we were inside the room, that there was not supposed to be anyone inside insinuating that we had just overstayed our reservation and went unnoticed (apparently room service doesn't notify management whether rooms have been vacated and nobody else checks). We had a reservation from Expedia for two nights which we had extended an additional two nights and paid at the front desk the day prior. We had checked in the previous day, signed their documents, and gave them my ID, credit card, and all that stuff. The front desk tells us there is no manager available at the moment either in person or on the phone and does not offer us anything to make right the situation but INSTEAD says that we have to check in again, sign their paperwork, and give them our credit card again because we had apparently only been charged for one night when we paid and that we could talk with a manager in the morning. This is a major security risk not checking that a room has been vacated before assigning guests to the same room and not entering reservations correctly into the system. Multiple processes had to have failed to give two new guests room key cards to OUR room while we were in our room at 10 PM at night! The new guests could have stolen our stuff had we not been in the room when this happened or could have seen us sleeping or naked as we were when this happened! Then instead of hotel staff calling to apologize or calling the manager to sort out the problem first, and try to remediate the situation with us, they call us asking why we are still in our room insinuating we had overstayed our reservation a night or that somehow this was our fault. To top this off one of the beds in our room had a strong smell of body odor. Sadly this one was of the highest-rated hotels...
Read moreWe chose this hotel as it was halfway to Knoxville, TN should the need arise that we would have to go further north. We were evacuating the East Coast of FL due to Hurriane Dorian. We are familiar with La Quinta Inns in FL and have always found them to be very nice. The ladies at the front desk were very friendly and helpful as we extended our stay several times. The breakfast at this hotel was very nice. Having many selections was terrific and Miss Linda, the lady in charge of the breakfast was very nice and very efficient. She kept things clean and monitored for things that needed to be replaced. It was nice to see her smile each morning. There were many folks there with pets, ourselves included and we were welcomed. There was easy access to the dog walking area. It is just sad that dog owners are not responsible and pick up after their dogs. Sadly that happens everywhere and is not a reflection on the hotel!!!The seating in the room we occupied was not very comfortable and the bed was so high, I had difficulty getting on the bed. The a/c had a very musty odor all the time and was somewhat hard to regulate the temperature. Thank goodness I brought Febreeze with me.My personal opinion on housekeeping is not good. The couple assigned to our room ONLY gave us clean towels, replaced toilet paper & coffee and emptied our trash daily. The bed was not made, the floor was NEVER vacuumed and the bathroom and entryway was only mopped one day. We were there for 5 days. Also, the couple's children were with them all the time, in the halls, exercise room etc. I inquired about policy in regard to housekeeping and was told 'if the patron is in the room they do not do any cleaning' unless asked!!! The couple understood very little English so it was hard to communicate. We did appreciate a safe place to stay and would stay again should the need arise, however, I think the housekeeping policy needs to be...
