This review is based is based on my experience with a Pakistani fellow student who invited me to join her for dinner. She drove so I had to suffer through this racist ordeal. The management is unchanged since 2006 or 2007, I want to forewarn ALL persons that identify as African American and Black American, the employees here don't want your presence, don't want to service you but do want you to have that revered pink skin widely known as "white." The girl who invited me to join her for a platter fit to serve at least two people contained both red and green curry, lamb links that were overly seasoned and naan bread. The male server smiled after she came in and he walked up to her smiling but as I entered, his smile went away instantly. He only came to bring our glasses of water, two menus and later the platter. No water refills after asking successfully once requesting refills and an ignored second attempt. As we dined, I noticed a caucasoid male with a light brown skinned female dining across from us; he got the majority of attention and smiles. That waiter would ignore the girl's raised hand and her voice requesting more water as he walked towards the bathroom and kitchen areas. By the way, that bathroom is poorly lit by the hallway light, next to the kitchen, poorly compartmentalized with what I assumed was a thin grandma "housecoat" as the "door." That's right, NO door to the bathroom. Truth, no lie! Very nostalgic of my experience with poverty. My classmate whom I was dining with told me that the service was better the previous time she dined alone. Her skin color is a little lighter than mine. We continued to finish the served food. The only good thing was the green curry and the worst item was that overseasoned lamb links. The female at the desk in the left corner was the only person that smiled at me as if she wanted a tip. I couldn't wait to leave that plantation. So, attention people with dark brown skin, including those perceived as African Americans, don't bring your beautiful selves into this place unless you want to receive the crappy experience my classmate and I received of prejudice against me. Those with pale skin and light brown skin, you got this place. No, I haven't returned but I want to forewarn anyone who wants to be treated like a human being while dining. Then again if the bathroom is crap and missing crucial parts like individual light and an individual door, find a better establishment where no one can take a peek at you. My previous review of this place was on Yelp and guess what? No apology but management made sure to get my review removed as if my experience didn't happen. People who identify as African American and as Black American, these people are not your friends and won't see you as human. Learn the recipes to the mess they prepare or...
Read moreTitle: A Sour Taste: Unpleasant Service Experience
During my recent dining experience at a particular restaurant, I encountered a waiter whose rudeness left a bitter aftertaste. It's disappointing when the behavior of the staff overshadows the quality of the food and overall ambiance.
From the moment we were seated, it was evident that the waiter had no interest in providing attentive service. The initial interaction was met with a cold and distant demeanor, as if our presence was an inconvenience to them. Our attempts to engage in polite conversation were met with curt replies and dismissive gestures.
As we perused the menu, the waiter seemed impatient and visibly annoyed by our questions. Instead of offering helpful recommendations or answering inquiries about the dishes, they responded with condescending remarks and a lack of enthusiasm. It was as if they were doing us a favor by allowing us to dine at their establishment.
When we placed our orders, the waiter showed no regard for accuracy or attention to detail. They carelessly jotted down our selections, barely acknowledging our specific requests. Throughout the meal, we experienced long delays in receiving our food, and when it finally arrived, it was evident that our orders had been mishandled. The waiter made no effort to rectify the situation or apologize for the mistakes.
Furthermore, the attitude and demeanor of the waiter were consistently discourteous. They rarely checked on our table, leaving us with empty glasses and neglected needs. Any attempts to flag them down for assistance or additional requests were met with sighs and rolled eyes, as if we were an inconvenience disrupting their day.
The culmination of this rude behavior was when it came time to pay the bill. The waiter handled the transaction with an air of impatience, practically snatching the credit card from my hand without a word of thanks or acknowledgment. It was a stark reminder that our presence as paying customers was of little importance to them.
Although the food itself was decent and the ambiance was pleasant enough, the poor service tainted the entire experience. It's disheartening when a restaurant fails to prioritize basic courtesy and professionalism. A rude and dismissive waiter can ruin an otherwise enjoyable meal.
In conclusion, I would caution anyone considering dining at this particular restaurant to be prepared for a potential encounter with discourteous staff. While the food and ambiance may be appealing, the lack of respect and attentiveness from the waiter overshadowed any positives. With plenty of other establishments to choose from, it's advisable to seek out a dining experience that values customer service and treats patrons with the courtesy...
Read moreLunch Portions at Dinner Prices! We were gestured to a table and sat down to only one appetizer plate on my side of the table for the pappadum, and were never brought a second one for my companion. We were served glasses of warmish water, no ice. We came for the buffet (some of the pics on here show it being on weekdays) but were informed the buffet is only for weekend lunch. And even on the menu I was given, it says the buffet is on weekdays & weekends; I pointed that out to our waitress and she said "no maam" like I was wrong. I would expect someone to say "Oh, that's not correct anymore, we'll fix that." The info on their fb page is correct though.
The Lassi was served at room temperature, not cold. The garlic naan was great, but it's $5 for ONE naan bread that's cut into 4 slices! The shrimp biryani was merely a bowl of seasoned rice with 6 shrimp in it. For $18! Biryani is supposed to have several things in it, which this biryani did not have. Fried onions at a minimum. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't worth $18. The butter chicken was good, but it wasn't amazing as it has been in the past. It was a very small amount of food for $17. I will never order off the menu here again. I might go back for the buffet. The last irritation came when I realized after paying that the auto-tip calculated by the check-out kiosk includes sales tax. So figure out your tip using the...
