We stayed at the motel to get our 5 youngest grandchildren together for the night and a chance to swim inside. They traveled from Evansville In and Bardstown KY( my son also rented a room). The rooms were good but all the kids and adults who swam ended up with chemical burns from the pool. The girls complained of the pool burning their eyes but I didnt think much of it at the time. There was a strong chlorine smell in the pool area. After arriving home, I received calls from all families saying their children had a red, burning, itchy rash all over their bodies. One even sent pictures. I contacted the motel immediately and was told the manager would contact me.That has not happened and it has been a week. When retriving a toy from the skimmer we noticed at least 50 of what looked to be chlorine pods inside the skimmer. My bracelet and a necklace were also ruined from the pool. I have never written a negative review or had this happen before. I feel I should I have at least received a call from management with regrets. I certainly would not want this to happen to anyone else. The pool was the reason we chose this Holiday Inn. It made what should have been a fun weekend one I do not want to repeat.Hopefully they have addressed the issue and this will not be a problem for...
Read moreUpon arrival nobody was working the front desk. I had to call the hotel phone number for someone to come to the desk. The front desk person arrived wearing t-shirt and jeans, not looking like she really worked there. When we got to our room, there was a stack of laundered towels that seems like they were thrown into the room and forgotten about. We noted in our reservation that there would be two adults and four children staying in the room. But there was no sheets or pillows for the sofa bed in the room. When our family was showering that evening, the body wash dispenser was completely empty in the bathroom. Also, the bathroom was noticeably not cleaned very well. With smears of something on the countertops and walls as well as hairs all over the floor. We also noticed in the morning when we were ready to make our coffee that our only choices available in the room or decaf coffee. Also, there was not a full roll of toilet paper in the bathroom and we had run out before we left in the morning. The continental breakfast we knew would not be like a typical selection. But we were very disappointed in what we received in our bags. Little Debbie apple pies and granola bars and an apple. No drinks or fresh pastries or any other...
Read moreI would not recommend this hotel for school groups. They are not very accommodating for busses. We were told we could not park our bus in the hotel parking lot and were to park it on the street which is was an active road with traffic. We choose not to do that and parked it in the parking lot taking up 4 parking spaces on the side of the hotel. Which keep in mind we had 4 rooms at the hotel for our group. We were called and woke up at midnight asking to move the bus they were out of parking spots. We ended up moving the bus after being woke up and parked the bus at the entrance of the hotel, but the next morning those same 4 spots the bus was parked in were still open at 6:00am. Also keep in mind there were two other cars with trailers there parked in parking lot that were not asked to move and they were taking up 3 parking spots each. I do not recommend this hotel for school groups or large groups. We stay at several hotels a year with our group and have never been treated like that before by a hotel. Also check in process was not good either. We booked our rooms two month or more in advance and at check in we were informed we could not get one of our rooms as a suit since they had run out and had to take a...
