EDIIT THIS PLACE IS PREDATORY. I WAS TOLD BY FRONT DESK THAT I WOULD GET BOTH REFUNDS. UPON CALLING OYO THEYRE TELLING ME I CALLED TO CANCEL MY RESERVATION AND THEYRE KEEPING MY MONEY EVEN THO I NEVER CANCELLED THE RESERVATION UNDER THEIR CANCELLATION POLICY. NEVER STAY HERE. THEY OUTSOURCE TO INDIA.
I called to book a room, got double charged for one night. I booked it the day before. When I got there, I found out that the people that run the hotel are a completely separate party from who I booked the room with over the phone. Front desk told me that "OYO" cancelled my reservation(even tho I literally made the res the night before and drove 8 hours to get there). She told me she would make a new one, but I told her since I was double charged I couldn't pay for my room. On top of that, there's a cash deposit even with card payments. Spent the last of my money on a room. She told me I would be refunded. Both refunds have not come through(I doubt she posted the refund) Very disappointed. I work in hotels for a living and this could have been handled better than it was. It's not that hard to keep reservations. It's a very simple process I know very well, as every hotel is almost the same. When I went to get my deposit the next day, I was upset to realize the manager just pulled my cash out(same bill count and everything) of her pocket and gave it back. No need for a register I guess. Is the deposit even required? If so it would need to be stored in the register until I came to get it, not just free floating in her pocket for her to lose while she's cleaning rooms.
Do not book with OYO. I should have expected this with the kind of hotel it was, but it just didn't seem that hard to mess up a simple reservation. Never even told me over the phone I'd need a deposit. I'd rather sleep in my car if this was my only choice...
Read moreEDIT- Going to bring this score up to date as although a few of my original observations are correct- many have changed.
Room was MUCH cleaner than when here before, in fact the disinfectant smell was pervasive enough to maybe cause issues for some- not me. Bed and bathroom were serviceable and had the proper supplies for a room of this class. I didn’t note any chop or burn marks, also a refreshing lack of bodily fluids on the walls!
Factoring in the price and its’ close proximity to some excellent dual sporting and I’d call it a win, far better experience then last time.
I feel terrible about this but here goes: This is bar none the most run down and filthy motel I have ever stayed at. The people staying at it are enough to make you pack heat to make sure they stay away from your car and the room just follows on that with it's own charms.
I'm pretty sure that Jefferson County dumps all of their homeless and indigent people here, I would be GREATLY surprised if anyone was paying cash for this. The room itself has been heavily damaged from the previous occupants and with the looks of the current crop not much will change. It smells heavily of cigarette smoke, there is blood or some other bodily substance on the toilet and the bathroom door has had it's frame busted due to being kicked down. The duvet/cover on the bed had multiple cigarette burns in it as does the top of the microwave.
I feel bad trashing the place like this but I feel people deserve to be forewarned about the conditions and adjust their thinking accordingly. For a cheap motel it will serve the purpose as long as you are willing and able to put up with the wildlife inhabiting it and the deplorable...
Read more|We stayed at the Madras Budget Inn on 11-05-19 on our trip back to Idaho. The manager was a pleasant fellow, gave us a significant discount and allowed us to preview the room, #24. It was cramped, but clean (with a tad of lingering cleaning solution oder) and the bed, though just a full, was comfortable. (We found out later that every time one of us rolled over, the springs were pretty squeaky.) ||The bathroom was amazingly small with a corner sink (and no mirror, so much for my wet shave!), and the smallest cubical for the toilet I had yet to see. Anyone over 250 pounds need not apply. When we turned on the sink water to get some hot for hand washing, the aerator was somewhat plugged and sent a stream sideways. After about 5 minutes the water became lukewarm and by that time there was a small puddle on the floor from a drain trap leak. ||When I decided to shower later that night, I found that it also took a VERY long time to get hot water. On top of that, the shower valve had the strangest temperature selection I’ve run across. One handle controlled the flow, while an interior knob controlled the temperature. Full on “hot” produced a tad beyond lukewarm for the entire duration of my shower. |I would not recommend this motel unless everything else in town was full. Sleeping in your car might be...
