Had high hopes and stopped in for some breakfast. Ordered the Sunrise Avocado Toast. At first I thought it looked great but realized, it wasn’t very good. Description on menu was: Thick sliced honey wheat toast, avocado, egg, bacon, and tomato. (No mention of sunflower seeds) The tomatoes were really good, egg was scrambled, avocado overripe, but they put a ton of sunflower seeds in it and it was WAY too much on the toast - they should mention this ingredient on the menu because I never would’ve ordered it. Also, bacon was the pre cooked Costco type and just meh. 🫤 Toast was too soggy to enjoy. I ate all the tomatoes but that was it. Kinda yucky tbh. The bakery items looked really good and the coffee was ok. I definitely would not order the avocado toast. Update: I mentioned the issues to the staff and they were very polite. I picked out as few pastries to take home and fully intended to pay. They gave them to me gratis which was very kind. I tried a Bear claw and Marion berry scone. Both were excellent. I also got a croissant with strawberries and cream but haven’t tried it yet. But it looks gorgeous.

It took a little to put in the order, but it was good to find something healthy in Madras. Dishes: - The chicken strawberry salad was fine, but the bread a bit bland. - The portobello burger was great, oozing with cheese, and the spinach was a good addition, though it should have been chopped more finely. The sweet potato fries were also done right: crispy but thick enough to be a little meaty. - The tuna salad was not so good, as the tuna was very dry. We were satisfied overall, and the food came within 5, 10, or 15 minutes, which was fine. - The Black Forest ham sandwich and supreme ham panini were both good. There were plenty of options on the menu. The table and dining area were a bit dirty, as the servers were too busy to clean up (there were a couple but seemed stretched thin). - The fruit tart was really good, sticky sweet and exactly what it should be.

Our family stopped for lunch on our way to Portland, OR. We ordered the Mango Shrimp, Chicken w/ strawberry salad, the portobello mushroom burger, the turkey and pesto panini and a raspberry scone. All of the dishes were delicious! The best part was the moist and tasty gluten free bread! I’d buy it by the loaf if I lived here. Special thanks to the owner who allowed us to finish our meal after they had closed.

The positive reviews are confusing as the food was truly awful. I have so many tips and ideas to make this restaurant better! The potato breakfast burrito was so weird- had mayo AND sour cream in it (neither listed in the menu), huge potato chunks mixed w this processed really thin bacon. Would have been perfect if smaller potatoes, no mayo, thick smaller pieces of bacon, more eggs and cheddar cheese (don’t remember either of these on there). the kids “omelette” was just a huge chunk of overcooked eggs w pockets of overly processed sausage and that weird bacon w a huge clump of cheddar cheese on top- they couldn’t even eat more than a couple of bites. The OJ was basically water, the coffee was awful and served w those little fake creamers that sit out. The avocado toast served on thick stale bread. Salsa served in these plastic containers that were either frozen or had gelatin in it as it came out formed like the container. The service was just weird and the whole vibe of the place was trying to be too many things (bar? cafe? brunch? buffet? health food? boutique market?) but just failed on all fronts. I love small businesses and know this place could be so much more a a few...

I never leave poor reviews unless I'm really annoyed. I called today at exactly 11:29AM to order a breakfast bagel and the lady on the phone said that they're no longer serving breakfast. Ok - well, that isn't on the website (and I tried to find it - maybe I missed it hidden somewhere). They don't even open until 9:00AM, which is well after most people are already at work - oh well. This is all my problem, not theirs - I get that. What was upsetting was the employee that with a sarcastic tone, condescendingly said, "Sorry about that have a great day," all in one sentence. Customer service is not what it used to be. This is my SECOND poor experience at Great Earth in the last two weeks. I heard the owner changed but didn't realize that came with an entirely new customer experience. If the lady wouldn't have ticked me off so bad with how rude she was, I would've probably ordered something else. Now.... going to just make my own lunch from now on. Since no one wants to work anymore and customer service is in the gutter. Same experience at the next place I tried. I'm always polite and not that sensitive, yet here I am shaking my head...
