Title: Disappointing Customer Service Experience and Dirty Rooms
I recently had a highly unsatisfactory experience with the customer service and cleanliness at this hotel. I feel compelled to share my negative feedback to shed light on the issues I encountered during my stay.
First and foremost, the person behind the front desk displayed a rude and unwelcoming attitude. My family and I were gathering in the lobby, preparing to go out for dinner, when she made an unnecessary comment about there being other customers in the building. It was completely uncalled for, as my children were well-behaved and not causing any disturbances. In fact, I have witnessed much worse behavior from adults in other establishments without such harsh treatment.
Furthermore, I was alarmed by the employee's actions regarding child safety. While I was present at the pool, she attempted to reprimand and catch children who were swimming without supervision. As a responsible adult, I was overseeing the situation and ensuring their safety. Her interference was unnecessary and only added to the unpleasant atmosphere.
Additionally, when I had a student call the hotel to inquire about retrieving something they had left behind, the same employee was not only rude but also unhelpful. Instead of providing assistance, she responded in a dismissive manner, showing a complete lack of professionalism. Ultimately, I had to send a parent to retrieve the item, and to my astonishment, the employee threw it at the adult who went to collect it. This type of behavior is entirely unacceptable and reflects poorly on the hotel's standards.
Moreover, the cleanliness of the rooms was far below expectations. Several of my students reported that their accommodations were dirty and appeared to have been inadequately cleaned. This is deeply concerning, as maintaining a clean and hygienic environment should be a top priority for any reputable hotel.
In light of these experiences, I cannot recommend this to others. The rude and unhelpful customer service, combined with the lack of cleanliness, significantly detracted from our stay. I hope that this review serves as constructive feedback for the management of the hotel to address these issues promptly and ensure a more pleasant experience for...
Read moreWe went to Wichita to visit family and checked into the Holiday Inn on Hampton lake street. The check in was great, the gentleman at the front desk was above and beyond gracious and accommodating.and I thought this would be a great stay wrong!|| The 1st night there was no conditioner in the bottle that that they left for conditioner. But because it was late we went to bed. Next morning I called down to the front desk and asked are you going to do maid service? I wonder because a couple hotels we've been at and have restricted it due to covid.|| They assured me my room would be cleaned by the time I got back later in the day. We spent the entire day with family and got back to the hotel about 9 :30 that night.|| Needless to say our bed had not been changed it was still dirty. It had not been vacuumed. And once again the bathroom had No conditioner! I called the front desk and asked if service had actually been done and they said yes I explained to them no conditioner no vacuuming and a dirty bed. ||They wanted to come up at 10 o'clock at night and change my bed we were exhausted so we slept on top of the sheets and had no blanket to cover up with because we had to lay on it.|| I've always stood at Holiday Inn when possible when I go away but I think from now on I'll have to look other places. Everything in this world is getting less and less service and more and more money and I was hoping Holiday Inn wouldn't be one that would follow the trend but I guess they are. Rather than give me clean sheets and vacuum my room and give me a little bit of conditioner which I counted on they gave me very little. And probably lost a very good customer.||I expect no less than the company to provide shampoon conditioner and soap as do all hotels across the United States and clean sheets and vacuum that's the bare necessities that's all I asked and it was not given.|| The shower is stained with mold from obviously a water problem or cleaning problem in room 220.|| If you care about cleanliness please do not stay here. ||So disappointed even the breakfast was cold can they not actually serve a hot breakfast.|| Very very sad Holiday Inn, very...
Read moreWe have family in Maize and have stayed at this Holiday Inn since it opened. We stay exclusively at Holiday Inn properties while traveling, and have never seen a property in such disrepair and as poorly run as this. While we have been disappointed in previous stays, this was by far the worst. It was so bad that we checked out a day early.
The room looked worn and the bathroom didn't appear to have had a cleaning since the last guest, with dirty q-tips stuck on the wall behind the trash can, and hair all over the bathroom floor.
We attempted to have breakfast both mornings, but they were out of many items, and other items were put out cold. We also had to share our eating area with another guest that brought their dog with them to breakfast. There were multiple dogs present during our stay, with loud barking coming from at least one room. We love dogs, and have two of our own, but we choose to have them stay home when we travel and stay in hotels.
We decided to use the pool and shortly after arriving one of our kids cut their foot on a broken plastic floor drain. The pool deck has numerous broken drains, exposed rusty bolts, and sharp tile edges that are all dangerous. They have attempted to make it look better by painting the tile deck and plastic drains.
After the pool incident, I asked to speak with the manager and was informed by the desk attendant that the manager and assistant manager were both on vacation until Monday. This was a Friday morning and there was no management present. I requested that he complete an incident report and asked that a manager contact me on Monday. So far, not a single phone call from the hotel. We will never again stay at this property, and question how this is still carrying the Holiday Inn name with such...
