Scottish Inns Manchester, TN — Hotel in Manchester

I stayed here the week of Sept. 25. My mom and I went down to Manchester for my vacation and gotta tell ya it was a nightmare at this hotel. When we called and made the reservations the person on the phone gave us a quote of 183.92 for 4 nights with tax included. When we got there to check in the lady was gonna charge us over 200.00 for the room until we told her that is not what we were quoted. We sat there for a good 5 minutes waiting for her to figure out the amount of the room and the tax on it. I work in a hotel and know that it shouldn't take that long so I had to help her. As she did not know that all you do to get the room rate is to take the full price and divide it by the number of nights that then amount you multiply it by your tax. Why on earth if you have someone new there that dont know what they are doing do you not have someone experianced there with her to help. So we get checked in and get out room. We walked in there and it smelled really bad. Then I go to the bathroom and the bathroom was disgusting. Hair in the tub toilet had something on the seat you could tell that the maids had not cleaned it in a while. So go down and get a different room that was actually half way decent and the manager has her call us at like 1 in the morning to tell us that we either have to come down and pay more for that room or get switched because he said the tax was not included with our price he gave us on the phone which was crap because my mom asked him if it included tax and he said yes. So we ended up getting a different room that then I found live cock roaches in. So I kill one of them and pick it up with toilet paper and take it down to the office where another girl was working. She was rude as heck to me. She told me the only thing she could do was switch us rooms and or spray the room to kill them really. I told her I would like a refund back then she proceeds to tell me that we couldn't get a refund as we did not come down within the first 10 minutes of being at the hotel to complain about it. I said well what is going to happen when I get home and my house gets filled with cock roaches because of your hotel she said the is not my problem miss. Needless to say by this time I am infuriated. I then tell her I want to talk to the manager so she gets on the phone and calls him and he tells her I have to come talk to him tomorrow. Really you live at the hotel and you cant get up out of bed and come to the office to talk to your guests. I would never talk to one of my guests the way she talked to me because if I did I would be fired right on the spot. So instead of going through more of the nightmare at that hotel my mom and I went to the Motel 6 across the street. Paid less for 3 nights then we were being charged for 4 nights at the scottish inn. So we get a call from the manager the next morning and we went over there and got our refund back for the extra 2 nights we didnt stay there. He tells us when we got there to pick up the money that if he was there he would have given us a better room. He said he has had complaints in the past of cock roaches being found and he keeps spraying but cant keep up with it. I gotta tell you who only sprays one room when them things wonder to every part of the hotel. You gotta bomb them rooms in order to kill them suckers and then get all new stuff in there. He said he would give us a better rate and room next time we come there to stay yea right we will never stay at that hotel ever again. I strongly suggest people to never stay at this hotel they will charge you an outrages price for a real crappy hotel room. The rating I give them is all 0's for quality, facility, and service every bit of it...

THIS PLACE HAS BED BUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was working at bonnaroo all 4 days and slept in my car for two of those nights and did not have any bites at all. I was fortunate to obtain a room for the last night. I went to my last day at bonnaroo to work and started getting large red painful/itchy bumps slowly showing up on my body through out the day. I thought they were spider bites or bug bits from sitting on the ground. They only showed up the last day I was there, which I had slept at the Scottish inn in Manchest, TN. My coworkers informed me they had experienced it before and it definitely looked like bed bugs... the room "looked" clean when you walked in and the smell wasn't horrible. Though I did lay a towel down on the bed and pillow, it moved around while I slept. After I finished working, I went straight to the hotel. It is owned by an indian couple and the wife came out and was initially polite and so was I. I said that I had slept in 213 and got bed bugs. She immediately got defensive and said she just finished cleaning the room (12 hours later) and that I didn't get them there. I then told her I had been sleeping in my car and didn't get the bites until immediately after sleeping at The Scottish inn in Manchester, TN. She continued to get defensive and rude so I started talking loudly so the people outside could hear. She kept looking outside hoping they weren't listening. I initially was not going to ask for my money back until the husband came out....mind you, this is during bonaroo 2 minutes from staff parking and he's charging $300 for 1 night in a horribly disgusting hotel. But he has a monopoly, so he can do that. The owner immediately got defensive and will not give me his information and keeps yelling at me and telling me to call the health department and maybe he'll give me my money back. I asked why they were being rude and they called me an ahole and fat a. I swear on everything in my life this is true. We then proceeded to argue and yell. They knew they were protected behind glass and a locked door so they could say whatever they like. They will most definitely continue to deny this and probably will switch out the mattress and clean the room before the health department gets there, but they are being...

I had the most AWFUL experience here. We checked in and went to our room to find bugs stains and a broken door. We immediately decided we wouldn’t be staying because the room was disgusting! When I went to the front desk I was told I would not be getting a refund because it was past “10 min from the time I checked in”. I told them I had just barely walked into the room and they continued to say that didn’t matter because it was over 10 min from the time I payed for the room. I told them I would not be staying becuase the room was so bad and they continued to argue with me and tell me it didn’t matter. I then walked to my car to try to get ahold of Expedia who I booked through..during this, a guy walks out yelling at us through my car window. He was calling us liars and telling us to get out of the car to go show him the room. Not only were we frightened at this point but we were so confused as to what was even happening. Eventually he said they didn’t want to fight with Expedia so he would refund it. I wish I had recorded it. It was beyond unprofessional and dirty there. Areas bad as well. I recommend going down the road to the other hotels! Ps. I had a service animal with me and they refused to take the pet fee off even though his certificate prohibits being charged.
