I had been staying here every Tuesday night for the past 6 weeks. I booked my reservation online on Monday (the day before I needed to stay). When I showed up to check-in on Tuesday, the guy told me that I had a reservation for the preceding night (Monday). I had mistakenly made my reservation for Monday night instead of Tuesday. The guy, said no problem, I'll fix it. I paid cash for my room. A few days later, I realized that I had been charged for the Monday night room...showed up on my credit card. I called the hotel and was told sorry, the manager must approve any refund. He will call you. Days go by. I called Choice Hotels (parent company) and was told that the manager of the place must authorize any refund. The guy had made a new reservation for me on Tuesday and didn't cancel the Monday night reservation (I was treated as a "no show.") Choice said the manager will call you. A week later (today), I called EconoLodge, sorry the manager must authorize, he will call you. Is there a pattern here? I called Choice Hotels Customer Service and was put on hold so they could call EconoLodge to speak with the manager. After 5 minutes, I was told that they (Martin Econo) was not refunding my money, it was my fault that I booked the wrong night and that I should have been more careful before I confirmed my reservation. Seriously? Are you kidding me? I would think that a place that rarely has more than 6-10 cars in the lot would treat customers a bit kinder. Lesson learned! They can keep the $75 dollars and I'll take my business across the street to Days Inn for the...
Read moreThe hotel was average, but manager named Nick was awful. I booked one night stay at this hotel, and after waking up the next morning, I soon discovered that the shower was not working. When I went to check out, I had ask the lady at the front desk if there was a slight discount due to the shower problem. She stated the manager had worked the night shift and she would have him call me later. Around 2pm that same day, I called back to see if the manage was in yet, and to my surprise he was. I stated the problem and ask about a possible discount due to poor maintenance or lack off. He started out like it was my problem and no discount was available. I let him know that was fine but I am going to review his hotel on Google, and things turn south very fast. He let me know he was recording my conversation and now I am threatening him and bring it on!! Wow!! As a business owner myself, customer service is very important. I was so frustrated and upset with this guy....of trying to explain to him that the shower did not work. I don't care if he gave a discount or not, but check out the room before you rent it. I hung up the phone after more threats from him, wondering what just happened. About an hour later, Nick the manager called me back to say his sorry, and he had indeed went down and checked out the shower. It was broken! That is all I was trying to convey to him. He offered a $5 discount and I told him NO Thanks...Then he sent me a coupon for another hotel...
Read moreI am currently sitting in my room here. I will be quick to say this is not a hotel I would recommend or consider staying in again. Honestly, I considered not staying at all. When I first arrived, there was no one in the check-in area. There was a couple in front of me becoming frustrated with the lack of assistance and they attempted to call a number posted at the front desk, but it would ring the phone in front of us behind the counter - so that wasn't helpful. Eventually, someone came in from outside and helped us get checked in. When going to park, I would not say that I felt safe as a solo, female traveler. There was a random group of men in the back lot area that didn't look to work here and it gave off some bad vibes. When I got to my room, I immediately noticed the door latch is gone which definitely did not help the unsafe situation. The peep hole is also installed for much taller individuals. If it wasn't due to the time constraints and likely penalty costs, I would have immediately left. Later, I attempted to sit down to work and noticed I cant connect to the wifi at all - so I'm now even more upset with my stay. My room is located next to the stairs and I can easily hear the other visitors coming and going, but the hotel itself is further away from the main road, so I don't expect traffic noise tonight. The bed at least seems clean. I dont expect to partake in breakfast and will definitely not...
