If I could give the Super 8 in Martinsville, IN less than one star, I would! DO NOT STAY HERE! Pay the extra 10$ and go across the street to Best Western. The pool is STILL closed for renovations as some of the reviews from A YEAR AGO have stated! This hotel is in no way handicap accessible - no elevator and all first floor rooms are being 'renovated'. They do not have wifi! I was in room 220 and for two days and was not able to connect to their wifi once! Which is listed as Super 8. I went to the lobby and the desk clerk said that only 400 users could be on the wifi at a time and they were really busy - so they're not renting the first floor and have about 30 rooms on the second - yeah that's not 400 people - so he logged me into his personal xfinity account! I could pick up his wifi in the lobbyand no where else but that really leads me to believe that they don't actually have wifi here. The room could have been cleaner and if you want housekeeping to service your room if staying more than one night you have to ask for it. The breakfast bar consisted of frozen waffles, cold biscuits with a seperate bowl of gravy you could reheat in a microwave that doesn't work on a Styrofoam plate, juice and cereal. The area was very messy and when the lobby clerk walked in and saw the mess she turned around and went back to the desk. While I was having some coffee in the breakfast area another guest came down to complain about their AC not working. The desk clerk went from 0-10. She started yelling at the guest, 'How do we know you didn't break it and you want us to pay for it now?' After some arguing between them and the guest getting nowhere the guest decided to cut her loss and stay somewhere else. (This hotel will not give you a refund, comp a night, or upgrade your room for any reason I have seen or heard so good luck if you find yourself in that situation) So after AC lady walks away the lobby clerk is talking to another associate and tells him, 'If she doesn't like it, don't stay here' and his reaponse was. 'Yeah, don't like it just stay home' Shows how much they care about their business and the people who stay here. It was easy to tolerate the weird smells, hotness of the entire hotel, and rude staff with evwrything else. The bad reviews on here are not exaggerated and the are not privileged people whineing as I kind of thought. I was like there's no way it can really be that bad. It's cheap they have a pool let's book it. Let's not! If I could have gotten my money back for the second night I would have switched hotels! Save yourself the disappointment and just pretend this place has been demolished as...
Read moreBED BUGS!
Stayed one night, and the next afternoon noticed I had bug bites all over my arms. More appeared throughout the day. Quick Google search showed that it was a text book case of bed bugs. Apparently they take up to a full day to appear. So gross, I can't even believe it... What a nightmare! Was forced to throw away all my luggage just to make sure I didn't bring them home.
Called the hotel once I figured out was going on. The Indian guy who works the desk was crazy rude to me when I called, and essentially said I was a liar because I didn't report them in the morning. If he had half a brain,, he would understand the bites don't show up right away, and can take up to 2 days to show. Anyway, he said the owner would call back within a day. Never heard back, and two days later called again. This time he said I was a liar because he had people stay in the room every night since I left (even though I told them there were bed bugs! wow), and because they didn't say anything, I was lying.
I told him I'd be leaving some bad reviews, and he told me to go ahead.
Anyway, it turns out another guy I work with got bit up while there too. Also, there is a website (I forget the name) where you report bed bug infestations. This Super 8 had a hit on the site for room 206. I was room 203, and my coworker was in a room at the end of the hall. So there are at least 3 rooms that are infested.

Read moreI booked my room through Wyndham Rewards back in September 2023 for April 7th to the 9th for the solar eclipse. On Tuesday April 2nd my credit card was stolen and I got a new one on Thursday and updated it on the Wyndham site. On April 7th at 8:35am, I received the message that my room was canceled just after receiving the email I could complete check in on the Wyndham site. I called to inquire why they canceled my room and they stated my credit card was declined. No call, nor care or compassion from the manager. He declined to reinstate my room. I was traveling from MN, planned this years in advance and booked early to save money. My room for 2 nights was 179$. The going rate just for Sunday night at any hotel in the area was over 400. I can't imagine why they chose my reservations. This is a terrible way to treat a loyal Wyndham customer. I filed a complaint and was told I would be contacted within 10 days. It's now been 25 days from my complaint without any communication. In all I ended up forking out over 400$ more in hotel cost just to cover those 2 days. FYI, no other hotel canceled my stays that I booked with my credit card that had...
