I wrote a review but after my trip down today I have to change my 5 star review down to a 1 star, it won't let me edit the review I had already done so I am making a new one. It is NO reflection my my sales lady Lucinda, she IS GREAT and went above and beyond, If I was ever looking to but a vehicle again, I would buy from here in a heartbeat, but NOT at this dealership!!! My issue is with the finance guy, I believe his name was Chris. As you can see the online add and my prequalification certificate (they show the same info on both) That the truck I purchased as a remaining Balance 48month/63,294 miles. So I drive down from Indy to get the truck, go in to do the paperwork and the finance guy says here are your payments based on what warranty you pick, so a little confused I said the truck still has 48 months or sixty tree some though miles. He makes a couple clicks on the computer and no this truck has no warranty. I had looked a several trucks online and thought did I see that on a different truck. I didn't need to take the certificate with me, because my sales Lucinda had gotten my info on the phone so I could pretty much sign and drive. So even though confused on the warranty thing I picked one, signed and headed back to Indy. As I was clearing stuff off my desk I came across my prequalification certificate. So of course I look at it to see it says it had a warranty. So i get my paperwork to find out I paid $5,900.00 for the warranty I picked. So of course I am upset to say the least with what my total loan was after adding the warranty. I could have went and gotten a 2025 with NO miles AND a warranty!!!! I had to have the truck down there this morning for a couple touch up places. I go in to talk to the finance guy and show him the paper that says it DOES have 48months and 63,294 miles, and I said you need to redo my loan and take that warranty off the loan amount, you lied to me. He said no, I don't know what that warranty is... let me see that. So he pulls my stuff up and said that warranty was the remainder for the factory warranty for rust. If I was to call the bank they can take the warranty off my I will not have a warranty for the important stuff. Now fist of all when I went in to sign and brought the warranty up, he should know what the add THEY have says!! Second of all, when I brought that up he should have CLEAERLY said, that is for rust only! NOT just saying this truck has no warranty making me think I was wrong and was thinking of a different truck I looked at. And most important of all, the online add should have had for rust only, in the box that says remaining warranty!!! Because we any of us look at that, we are going to assume the previous owner paid for the extended 7 or10 years, 100,000.00 warranty, that is transferable to the new owner. So BEWARE if you see an add for them that makes it look like plus that it has a warranty, make SURE you ask WHAT warranty!!! I will NEVER do business with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery disappointed and will never return. A friend recommended us. Taylor was our sales representative - he told us a story about how great this car was, and that the woman's husband had passed away, which is why she traded it in. He told us they had just received the vehicle, which was why it wasn't listed on the website yet. We were told it had a clean CarFax and there were no issues with it.
We purchased the vehicle and drove it home. On our way home, we began to notice that when we were stopped at a stop sign or stoplight, the car would get jumpy. That evening, it went into limp mode on our way home from a birthday party. By then, the dealership was already closed for the evening.
We reached out to Taylor, and he told us they wouldn't do anything since we didn't purchase a warranty, and all cars are sold 'as-is'. We told him that we were not fully informed about the vehicle's history (by this time, we had pulled the CarFax report to learn that we had been lied to). He told us, "If we resolved any issues before selling there is no telling if the issue will persist. For this reason we sell vehicles over 100,000 miles as is."
After going above his head, we were able to get it into the service department for them to inspect. Within a few days of receiving it back, it did the same thing. We took it back for the second time. This time they had it for three weeks. They told us they replaced the fuel pump, injectors, fuel rail, and pressure sensor and it should be good to go.
It started experiencing the same problem again. We finally gave up taking it to them.
We've had it to our mechanic twice now. He said that the parts they told us they replaced were not new, and he suggested that we cut our losses and find a new vehicle because the motor was in terrible shape, had lots of sludge, and that it would never be what it should be. We spent $8,000 on a car that we will not be able to drive.
Hobson assured us that it was a great car, that their mechanics had thoroughly inspected it, etc. When we pulled the CarFax ourselves, we learned that they had replaced the timing chain and pistons just a few weeks prior to our purchase, yet never shared that information with us. We also learned from Carfax that they had lied about the vehicle's purchase history. We're now out $8,500 and have a car that constantly goes into limp mode when we drive it. We will not be able to use it as intended (for our...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate: raising stars to 2. Basically because I now have a headlight working, however I got no traction on this resolution until I posted this review after trying to work with them for 2 months. In the end they got GM to cover half, they still had no skin in the game to recover an unhappy customer. Unfortunately, I find myself needing to update my review.
First off, I did not purchase the offered extended warranty at time of closing. Purchased a 2021 GMC 3500 AT4 with 45,000 miles, out of factory bumper to bumper. Had the truck for a week and noticed passenger headlight flickering, dealership advised this is a $1800+ repair. After many exchanges with sales and finance was told I should have bought the warranty. Had service investigate a claim and found the issue wouldn't have covered anyway?! I was sitting in the fast food drive through and the cashier let me know the other headlight is now failing. Seriously? Had a call with Hobson finance today, was told I should have purchased the warranty that wouldn't have covered it or paid to have it certified and I am outa luck... I paid $70k for a 2 yr old truck that I now have to cough up $3700 to fix the truck.
Thanks for standing behind your product.
Found the truck we wanted, went back and forth quite a bit, but finished up where nobody got hurt. They are definitely willing to work with you. Paperwork was very efficient as well, in and out. They pushed the warranty like everyone but not over the top pressure. Almost 5 stars, a little better deal would have got us there. Pretty...
