Incredible view and updated unit (more details below). ||This building is on one of the best beaches in Maui- for both snorkeling and boogie boarding. The view from nearly every property on this site is nothing short of spectacular. We are repeat visitors and have enjoyed eating takeout on the lanai (and don't get me started about the sunsets). The kitchen in this particular unit is perfect (newer sink works well, the counter is newer, the cabinets are updated and nicely furnished). The AC and all newer appliances (refrigerator and dishwasher) worked well (there are also ceiling fans that work great too). The washer and dryer are very new and there was laundry soap provided. We saw no ants or other insects and the unit was spotless-clean when we arrived. The parking worked flawlessly (gated underground facility). There are beach chairs in the bedroom closet that we enjoyed. The art decor is...interesting, but everyone has different styles/tastes. Overall, this is a really great unit. I would stay here again without hesitation.||The property management is not on site, but their office for checkin is conveniently located nearby (in the mall by Monkeypod and Pita Paradise) and on the way to/from the airport. The staff of three there were very helpful (there was no line when I arrived and one of the staff was nice enough to provide me with a refreshment while I was filling out more paperwork). The checkin time is a couple hours later than other properties, but they texted and called me when the unit was available. The front door has an access code, which was really handy for going/coming from the beach (no keys). The management company texted me the various codes (unit front door, gate to beach, and property front pedestrian gate). Because they sent a nice note each day (Hawaiian word of the day), their text string was always near the top on my phone and easy to retrieve the entry codes at the top.||||Here are areas of potential improvement: this beach front unit has nearly zero places to hang up damp/wet towels, trunks, suits, etc... (there is a towel bar in the main bath, but that's it. The master bath has a towel bar inside the shower (!?)). The use of mirrors throughout makes the unit seem more spacious, but in the master bath at the cost of hooks or towel rods (does anyone really need a full wall mirror next to the toilet?). We had to get creative to reuse our bath towels, but overall it was not that big a deal. ||The tile entry and tile in master bath has a polished smooth finish which gets wicked slippery when wet. Take caution when going/coming from the beach or coming out of the shower.||All the interior doors throughout are double hinged like a restaurant kitchen door or old western saloon doors. The problem is that w/o a door jam, there's a gap around the door that you could toss a cat through. The main bathroom is not altogether private- as the door has a gap and the shower wall is clear glass. Again, not a huge deal, but just something to be aware of.||The last issue was construction- we were not aware or advised that the property was undergoing the installation of new railings. Construction happens; I get it. Maybe that detail was in the fine print, but I didn't see it. The guys were sawing (?) with power tools on metal railings and that was noisy. It was only during the day, and again, not a big issue (but I would rather have known before hand). ||Overall, the unit is grand and we had an...
Read moreWe've stayed in the Polo Beach Club 3 times in different units. Unit 205 is a good option but, it has issues.||PROS: |Excellent Views|Nice layout|Updated decor|Full kitchen (except oven)||CONS:|Old building, showing it's age. ||It's on the FAR end of the sidewalk. Not really easy to walk to dinner and back at night. ||We were given incorrect gate codes to get in. Finally another car came and we followed them in. ||We called the "24 hour" phone number on the gate and nobody answered.||Once inside our phones went to SOS mode. It's a total dead zone with no cellular. We read all the information cards - no wifi info! Finally we noticed a clear acrylic stand with a QR code "use this for wifi information" noted. We tried this, but the page with the wifi info would not load, probably because it's a dead zone. We called the Coldwell Banker phone - no answer. We emailed them too - nothing. We had to check in with our kids so we had to walk to the nearest hotel to get wifi, to load the page with the wifi information, so we could have service in the condo. WHY not just leave the wifi on a paper on the front table with everything else???||Even once we were connected, we had 1/4 of 1 bar on our phones the whole stay. TERRIBLE WIFI.||This unit has a great view but the lanai (patio) is very shallow - 1 person deep. Fine for two people but, it was smaller than we thought. You could sit 4 people in dining chairs only side by side. ||As other reviews noted, the Master bed...
Read moreWe stayed a week at Polo Beach club unit 708 and it was perfect! The unit had everything we needed for a great beach vacation. Beach chairs, beach umbrella, and ice chests, are provided for you. The unit had everything in the kitchen we needed to make meals and entertain. The appliances were new and worked well. There are 3 flat screen TV’s and a nice blue tooth stereo in the living room. The furniture was all in excellent condition. The beds were all in very good condition too and we slept great. The unit was spotless and very clean. The views from the unit are spectacular, and at night the Fairmont Kea Lani hotel is lit up beautifully. We ate all of our meals on the lanai which has a fantastic view of the beach. We walked to the five star hotels, which are very close and had great meals there. The Shops at Wailea are about a mile away. We drove there most of the time, but the walk is a short one. Several times we used the free Tesla SUV car service provided by the owner to take to Wailea for shopping and eating. Provided covered parking in the basement was very convenient. The gorgeous beach is right out front and has great swimming and snorkeling. The pool and spa were very nice also. The beach was never crowded and the water was clear and clean. The grounds of Polo Beach are well maintained, as are the gas barbecue grills near the pool. We cannot wait to go back, and would recommend unit 708 to anyone who wants an amazing...
