Wailea Beach Park — Attraction in Maui

We visited this beach on August 16, 2023 just after Hurricane Dora passed a distant 500 miles south of Hawaii and the terrible fires in Lahina. Compared to the other beaches we visited, the waves here were the mellowest and the sand stayed shallow a lot further out than the other beaches we visited. This beach was ideal for young children, at least on the day we visited. We also spotted a number of turtles swimming right off the beach as well as a pretty good snorkeling spot on the south side of the beach near the rocks. One of the best boardwalks in Maui. You can walk past multiple resorts, beautiful beaches, world class sunsets, sometimes you can even enjoy part of a Luau performance. A great place to work off those calories from dinner! Easy walking for most people. At night, sections of the boardwalk path can be a little dark, just use your phone flashlight where needed. Beautiful! The beach is wide and very, very long - plenty of room for hundreds of people to stretch out and not be piled on top of one another. Public parking is only a two- or three-minute walk away, with bathrooms and an outdoor shower. There is also a small cafe right next to the beach...
