Been an elite member for a few years now, and this by far is the worst Marriott I’ve stayed in. The close proximity to the airport is literally the ONLY thing you’re paying for here. Period. There are FAR better hotels with shuttles close by. First of all- there is NO pool/jacuzzi because it was taken out for some mediocre gym with broken equipment. Second- their FOOD is obscenely overpriced. $15 plus tip for a cold cheeseburger I could get at the BK nearby for $3? You’re joking right? Third and most important- NO water bottles whatsoever. Every Marriott I’ve stayed at the past 5years has $2-$3 bottles in your room, OR they just give you one free at the desk. None in room just a few empty glasses, nothing to offer at the desk, so you’re gonna charge me $5 for a little 12oz bottle of water? Let me not forget- the coffee maker in the room tripped the breaker and wouldn’t turn on at 5am. I’ve since cancelled my elite membership with Marriott and switching to Hilton. There is NO excuse for this service. $200 a night go figure. They can produce good service to customers they just choose not to. It’s why the company is headed downhill fast. This isn’t the first Marriott I’ve experienced this lack of service. You’re paying top-dollar for mediocre service and a seemingly clean room, with little to NO actual amenities at all. Not even an affordable bottle of water! Never experienced this at a Hilton not once. Submitted the report to corporate. Done...
Read moreExcellent service in every way! Booked through Priceline and checkin was quick and easy. Room was close, spacious and very clean. Bed was very comfortable which is super important to me, with my back and neck issues.
Toiletries in bathroom had a fresh clean scent, not perfumy. Bedside wall lamps each have a standard plug, so I was able to plug in my Anker USB multi port to charge several devices, as well as run my white noise machine.
The lobby area opens onto a combination bar and restaurant. There is a limited menu but what they have was really good. I can personally vouch for the Chicken Pot Pie which had a generous flaky crust over a flavorful filling. My husband was very happy with his Chicken Quesadilla which came with a generous serving of quacamole. Dessert was the best Carrot Cake I'd had in years. The cake was moist and delicious, and the cream cheese frosting was just the right amount of sweetness.
We had to leave very early the next morning, 6:45ish, but the staff was great. They even helped me out when my drink cup slid off the roof of the car and dumped my drink. I came back inside just to ask where I could rinse it out, and they took it to the bar service area and washed, dried and refilled it with ice for me. Above and beyond!👍
We'll definitely be...
Read moreI'm almost always happy to go to a Marriott after the end of a long day. I expect the bed to be comfortable (most important feature), and to have access to food, and libations when needed. Fitness center I do not use as much, but I like to think I might. I like attentive staff, and courtesy. I can't think of anytime when I did not receive this from a Marriott location. I liked this Medford location very much, because it is really small in regards to other major cities, but the people there treat it every bit as important as a location in Chicago, for example. Even the shuttle driver (John) was more than willing to look out for my Japanese friends arriving late at the airport (after 12 midnight). He was already there, at the airport, to meet them, when they arrived. I have to assume he did so at my behest, because there are not many flights arriving there so late.
If you want to do something to reward your best employees, then look up the gentleman driving the shuttle on the 17th of November, at the Medford location, first name of John, and congratulate him for being at the nearby airport to pick up my Japanese friends right on time. Kudos to him, and the staff there as everyone was...
