Marriott has never been my preferred hotel brand. I'm a Hilton gal through and through. Company recently had us swap to Marriott as preferred so i choose this particular hotel for my stay. Overall it was a very nice hotel. I gave setvice a 4 but It really deserves a 4.5. the issue I had was at check in, my room was not ready. I was only a couple mins earlier than I stated I would be. Carmen, the gal that checked me in, informed me that no rooms were ready and then proceeded to check me into a room. She was quite impolite and was glad I didn't have to deal with her again. The other people I interacted with were super nice. They certainly deserve a 5. Carmen gets a 1. Here are my pros and cons
Cons: I'm not anTV watcher so on every weekly trip I pack my Switch. Every hotel I've been at recently let me change my input over to HDMI 2 to play. Unfortunately this hotel did not have that option. I tried to swap the regular HDMI 1 port. It for some reason the sound was maxed out and was way too loud and couldn't turn it down. The option to display on the Marriott me u does not work for Switches or any game console. That was disappointing. Even the last Marriott I stayed at allowed me to do that. Definitely an issue for me personally.
Pros: Plenty of parking!! That's always wonderful. Very nice size rooms. I have one of those jobs were I go onsite come back to the hotel and go back again. I do a lot of work in my hotel room. It's imperative I have space to work. Didn't disappoint at this Springhill Suites! very clean! All spaces including the room were very clean. Nice amenities. The shop was well stocked stocked with everything you could want! Pool looked lovely as well. Great location. Everything. I needed was less than 10 mins away. All the food you need. Breakfast bar looked good. It looks like they use real eggs for their scrambled eggs which is way better than powdered eggs. They also have a bistro sometimes in the evenings and apparently it's very good as well. very little...
Read moreI've stayed in a lot of hotels for work.
The good: It's right across the street from the airport. There are USB outlets everywhere. I didn't have to use my phone charger (except the cables) The wifi is pretty hassle free and just works. Other hotels force you to answer all kinds of personal questions just to use it. Not here though. The temperature controls were pretty simple and easy to use. Built in netflix and other major streaming services. You could sign in to get your settings, but you're not required to. It automatically signs you out, but I couldn't trust that.
The bad: This doesn't seem like a family place, I didn't see even one family. More like a place for travelers. There's not enough parking. If you get in after 5pm, forget about a close spot. It was not terribly obvious where the front door was. I drove around the building once before I figured it out. The free breakfast is only bacon/sausage and scrambled eggs, and orange juice. There were a couple other dry undesirable things, but I didn't have them. No bowls of cereal though. This one is a biggie: the bathroom fan is permanently on. No way to turn it off. You could hear it even with the door closed. It's not loud, but it's not silent either. This is just plain unacceptable. The TV signal was glitchy and buffered a lot, with a lot of digital artifacts and missed audio. It didn't seem like regular analog cable, some kind of artificial digital streaming thing. One "channel" was out for 10 minutes and then was...
Read moreFirst, let me start with the positive. Because there were positives. Dean at the front desk went above and beyond for an old Grandma who had her two grandchildren and arrived early. He was able to let us use the pool so that the kids would have something to do and to keep us out of the heat. And for that, I am eternally grateful! Nicole at the front desk was also awesome when we checked in. And Stephanie at the front desk was also helpful. Now For the not so posititives: when we went down for breakfast on Saturday morning, the place was filthy. In the food area, there was one worker that wears a bandana on her head that was rude not only to the customers, but verbally abusive to her co-worker in view of everybody else, which I found very unpleasant!. When we came back downstairs to go out later, she was sitting with another co-worker in the dining area, continuing to complain and bad mouth, other workers, and her language was atrocious!. When we got back late last night to our room, it had not been cleaned. We had no towels, no wash clothes, no toilet paper, and no kleenex. I find this totally unacceptable! I contacted the nice man at the overnight desk and he did bring things to me, but at 1 o'clock in the morning when you're tired and dusty and dirty, the last thing you want to do is have to call down for supplies. This is in a great location. I'm sure they just have kinks to work out, but you want the truth,...
